  1. Hi mate, For what it's worth I'll give you my opinion on what I would do if I were you. As has been mentioned previously, we don't get much nice weather even in the Summer, so for me that'd rule out the Porsche. I know it's a fair bit drier in the East, but arguably colder and windier too. Not the kind of weather I'd immediately be thinking about getting the most from a cabriolet . With having the magnificent scottish countryside, and the gateway to the Highlands not far from your doorstep I'd really lean heavilly towards another STi if I were you. It's really all cars for all people. It'll be perfect for our (crappy at times) roads, and tbh I don't like M3's so that would rule itself out straight away . Do you really need a car???? Remember you'll be a student, doing everything that students do Good luck with reaching your decision, but it'd be the scooby everytime for me.
  2. I'd imagine you'd pick one up easily enough over on scoobynet? Or put a wanted post up on the main SIDC page .
  3. Hi and welcome, hope you enjoy the scooby ownership .
  4. If you just want a quiet backbox, I've got a newage STi one that's as quiet as any, that you can have for not a lot?
  5. Shell garage in Kilsyth had plenty V-power today.
  6. Let me know how you get on, and what sort of figures you get Maxy? That's same as my fit, except i'll have 650cc injectors, magnex headers and the sti tmic fitted. Not sure if my setup will achieve any more than yours, but will have a bit more protection built in hopefully?
  7. I think Scoobysailor is running a TD05 16g with pink injectors, decat turbo back system and STi TMIC? Going by his signature his figures after Andy F remapped it are: "MICA RED 01 BUGEYE WRX - 333BHP/324lbft - assembled by SW Motorsport, mapped by Andy Forrest and driven like an old lady by ME!" Hope this helps . P.S. I'm booked in with Andy for a remap after similar items fitted in 19 days, 18hrs and 49mins...Not that I'm counting !!!
  8. There's a similar thread over on SN about this too. Folk are not 100% yes or no to if it is a locked or unlocked Ecutek map by Prodrive on post 2001 PPP cars??? PPP Ecutek thread Why don't you fire off a quick email to Andy Forrest, that should clear it up one way or another?
  9. I was under the impression that Prodrive used ECUTek for their PPP remaps. Would that mean you would get a slightly cheaper 1st remap from the Andy Forrest, because it has a paid licence, but by another mapper? I'm sure someone will be along soon with some FACTS for you .
  10. Or try using tinypic ( CLICK FOR TINYPIC ). You don't need to register & it's free to upload . Have a look through the next page or two on the forum for the "Post Pics Of Your Classic Impreza" thread, this is the Newage one .
  11. Were the Newage STi wagons not JDM only? There's a WR blue bugeye one kicking around Kirkie, looks and sounds good .
  12. I think that may have been Arch's white RA Beast Crazy looking??? Arch or the car
  13. There is a two number code after the size which tells you. The higher the number the stiffer the sidewall. e.g. 225/45R17 93Y
  14. Is it custom mapping or a generic one that Star do for the VAG diesels?
  15. That guy absolutely shat a brick on the 3rd pull there!!!
  16. Doh!!! Nice save there .
  17. Joe, what Wee Jock said makes absolute sense. There's always a sensible solution, you just need some clarity of thought right now. Good luck mate.
  18. Keep the spec-C and sell your ZX6ninja. They're 2-a-penny, but the spec-C isn't . Good time to be selling a bike as well, with spring being just round the corner. I'm in between bikes at the moment, and sure as hell get a severe case of motorcycle emptiness when the 1st few nice spring days arrive .
  19. I've got tein lowering springs on my blobeye. They're about the same drop as prodrive ones and I'm impressed with the lack of body roll and seem quite plush over uneven ground too. Gets my vote
  20. Can a colleague at work not help you remove the wheel, rest the hub on a few bricks, then take the offending item to the tyre repair place up the road for a "Swift" repair before refitting? This would be my last resort, but still a possible solution nonetheless .
  21. Just glad you got it sorted Kenny. I'm sure you'd have gone out of your way if the boot had been on the other foot. Nice one Arch .
  22. You're far to easy to get a rise from Del.......it's just no fun anymore .
  23. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring theme over on scoobynet. You hear about things like this, along with folk being ripped off all too commonly . The guy must have been sooo desperate to sell that he purposely never mentioned the long list of issues with the car. Any normal person, knowing that a viewer is travelling to see a car would go out of his/her way to point out the smallest of issues to save this kind of thing from happening..........or maybe that's just me? Let's hope you find a mint example soon and put this episode behind you
  24. You mean his fine taste is that he has resisted the urge to buy a Prius, I mean Hatch? Only joking, I know how upset you hatch guys get about the subject??? P.S. Cheers for the details Bobby
