That's what I was gonna do with a TSL333 ECUTek ECU I picked up for my STi, but was going to get Andy F to map it to the car to make sure nothing goes bang . (about £350 by Andy F if already ECUTek licensed). You also need to get the locking system ecu paired up with the ecu for the keys/immobiliser (about £40 from the dealer I think). Hope this helps, it's my understanding of how it works, and stand corrected if not 100%.

This was also my first time up on the drag strip and had a great time, as did my daughter Hannah. We had to run off at the end to give a hand to someone who's car was feeling a bit ill due to all the launches, but can I just thank everyone who was involved in organising this, and Julie (Lostboy's better half) for keeping an eye on Hannah until she felt brave enough to go for some blasts with her old man . I only had my diesel Ibiza with me, but thoroughly enjoyed it, and even came to within 0.038 sec of another member's best time with his WRX .

Well I couldn't take it any longer. Being Scoobyless is crap!!! I lasted less than 48hrs before viewing and agreeing a deal on another Scooby . It's actually for the wife, and a replacement for her Seat Leon. It's only a lowly 2.0 GX Sport 5dr Blobeye, but my wife was also getting withdrawal symptoms and NEEDED a AWD scooby without the STi spoiler for over the winter . I don't think she ever drove the STi on boost, Lol, so I think this'll be perfect for her. I'll also take her out for the occasional wee run too. My plans are still to have a look for a cheap classic toy come the better weather around springtime. The main thing is, once I get some non-turbo unequal headers, I'll have the Flat-four Burble back in my life . Phil P.S. I'll get some pics up once it arrives.

My wife say she gets the nutters on the road quite regularly, and not always from the youths either! She reckons it's the STi spoiler that attracts them, and would be more than happy for me to change it to a WRX boot-level one ?

I was also told to look out for a notchy gearbox, leaking turbo and all the usual car checks (Suspension/cv's/bearings/exhaust). I'm not sure about classics, but on my bug STi I can plug in my canbus fault code reader to see if there's anything logged up?

Try Keith at Chipsaway (Tel- 07951 219566) He's done flawless plastic welds, bumper repairs and spot-on paint matching for me before. He also comes to your home/workplace to sort it as you wait. I'd at least give him a bell and let him quote you.

I may well come through for this one too (Spectating). Hopefully I can persuade one or both of my kids to come along and see some fast cars and some quick times .

Just to hijack the thread a little, would a blobeye suspension fit a bugeye? Just that I've been offered some Tein springs for my STi and wondered if they'd fit.

Funny you should say that Arch, I've just been researching for the last 1/2 hr to find that although the Shell Helix is sold as Synthetic, it is merely a Hydrocracked Petroleum based oil from refined mineral oil . Is it ok for me to change from using a Type 3 oil to a Type 4/5 (Millers/Motul), or will I need to flush it out first? I'll look at the Millers I think . How'd you get on this weekend anyway?
