  1. Good to meet you too, and to pick your brains about the wheels . I know, it's funny that??? There won't be a next time with this car. Gearbox being the limitinf factor, be as well going down the STi route again if wanting more, or a 6-spd classic .
  2. Cheers guys. Carlsberg? Now there's a great idea. Just off to the beer fridge to get a cold one and relax
  3. Cheers Al, wasn't chasing any figures tbh, but the car pulls really well now. Got carried away on way home along a back road today in 4th. Looked at the clocks which read silly speeds!!!!!! Decided to back it off somewhat. Twitchy needle.....you mean massive fluctuations Lol. Yeh, just put a restrictor nozzle into the boost pick-off line at the manifold and it's silky smooth now.
  4. Not as glad as I am Andy ;o) Cheers for the comments guys, see you at the Loch tomorrow.
  5. Are you not doing Kames? I thought your name was one of the first on the list? Was relying on some insider info off you for the lines etc as well
  6. I had Pirelli Rosso's fitted to my STi7 and thought they were excellent in terms of grip (225/40r18), but being Pirelli I think they wouldn't have lasted too long before needing changed. I'm just about to switch from Eagle F1 GSD3 (215/45r17) to the Asymmetric (225/45r17) in a few weeks, so should be able to make a direct comparison then. Up until now the GSD3's have been very sticky, but wearing excessively on the outside shoulders (Alignment was done at the end of last year at Hypertech). I was just asking about your RE070's because I've got a set fitted to my spare wheels, and wondered whether I should be driving the car to Kames with them on or change to the Bridgestone when I get down there? For the sake of 50 or so easy road miles each way I'll probably just arrive with them fitted next Saturday .
  7. What sort of mileage do you get out of these RE070's before they need changed Neil?
  8. Not tonight Del, already driven it for several hours since the remap, so getting used to it . I'll be down for the hand cut chips tomorrow night for sure though
  9. You've hurt my feelings now! I should have said constructive, as opposed to useful
  10. 3rd time lucky, and I'd just like to say a big thanks to Andy Forrest for his patience and great mapping work, and to Dunc at Hypertech for sorting out the few minor issues I had last week . Managed to get around 336bhp/325ftlb and a very useable amount of power from the TD05 16g and supporting mods, with a little bit more still to come. The only downside of all this is that it took me two and a half hours to get home afterwards, when it only took me 1 hour on the way there . Lovin the big grin now P.S. Andy, the restrictor has really smoothed out the boost needle no end, cheers
  11. Any useful info for creating good HDR pics? I'm just trying lots of different settings at the moment . (Shades definitely required for the 3rd pic there )
  12. And a few more of the Lateral Time Attack car. Just messing about with a few things to see how it goes.
  13. Here's a quick shot of the award winning SIDC Stand and a few of our cars from Knockhill on Sunday 16th May.
  14. To add to Neil's advice I'd also like to warn you that it's a car that needs good looking after. If you're on a really tight budget and skimp on a few things, it's likely to come back and bite you in the wallet, severely!! They're very rewarding cars to own and drive though. I'd thoroughly recommend everyone to have owned one at some point in their car catalogue . Welcome along mate, and hope you find a nice one soon.
  15. I've just put some RE070's on a spare set of wheels for Kames next week, but will be fitting some F1 asymmetrics on them for road use afterwards. I've got some F1 GSD3 on the white Inovits at the moment and find them grippy, but seem to be wearing quickly. From what I've heard the asymmetrics are a bit longer lasting than the GSD3? (Might well have a set of 17" 100pcd white Inovit Tarmac with Eagle F1 tyres for sale soon. Fits classic and newage)
  16. PM me your email and I'll sort it John I've got a few more of the Lateral car so I'll see what else I can come up with for you. Email on it's way John
  17. Here's the only pic I've tinkered about with from the weekend. Not had time to go through any more, but will post some up later .
  18. Was a great day out and a huge turnout for the SIDC stand. Maybe it was double the usual numbers that helped swing the winning of Best Club Stand trophy?
  19. Have you tried asking Sigma Sam yet? Sigma Sam OEM Alarm/Immobiliser Questions
  20. He's one luck, lucky *******!!!!! Nice clip Barry
  21. Hi and welcome to the site Gerry.
  22. Ha,ha, don't worry Mr 33deg sunworshipper . I can assure you that pic was taken in the depth of Winter when you were still here too!!
  23. It might just need a wee trip over to KH on Sunday, oh, and a wee goat is making it's way to you .
  24. As previously said, there's many different makes, sizes and types of layout for you to consider. I'm not too keen on having the large triple pod on top of the dash, or some pillar mounted pods obscuring your view. I've got a pair of smaller Racetech gauges (Boost and dual Oil Temp/Pressure) neatly mounted inside my dash clock moulding. Just another option for you to consider
  25. Just got the wrx back from Dunc at Hypertech last night and the grin is well and truly back in place now . Lots of little issues sorted out and the up-pipe replaced with a new H&S unit, cheers Dunc you're a star . I'm now looking forward to the remap with Andy next week instead of dreading what else he might find
