About Ovv

  1. Last year the tax expired at the end of October on mine and I sorn'd it until May this year. Minimum fuel, just enough to start it up every week or so and drive it up and down drive way before putting it back into the garage. Swapped insurance over to winter runner Impreza and basically kept the P1 tucked away. When May came around, I ditched the winter Impreza and retaxed the P1. I asked my insurance company the last day about what happens if I wish to cancel insurance in November, as I paid in full, I would get the remaining premium refunded minus a £25 quid admin fee, doubt I will bother though as I would prefer to keep it insured just incase.
  2. Gotta love the old scammers trying to make you part with cash. Had a similar experience and said they wanted to come to my house to collect and the. Money would be in my account within the hour, gave them my address as the local police station. Lol
  3. Hi Dave, yeah I'm good thanks. Yep, P1 still keeping me smiling, picked up a few bits for it recently to make it completely standard. The .net meets are on a Tuesday night at 7 down at the pub/ beefeater place next to Dundee airport. It's usually just for a blether and something to eat, can't ever remember there being any runs. I know there is sometimes a bit of beef between the different forums, but everyone is very friendly, and there's a good percentage of folk that used to be regular posters on here, Ciaran, Ginger Chris, Blake, the two Craig's and myself.
  4. Hasn't been a Tayside meet from SIDC in ages mate. I think most people got fed up waiting for something to be organised that they jumped shipped and attend the ss.net Tayside meet instead. It tends to be well attended, as is usually near the end of the month.
  5. Worst - selling my classic and buying a Hawkeye WRX - how stupid ! Best - buying a P1
  6. Thanks mate, its a bit dusty at the moment as its been in the garage over winter since November - Summer use only.
  7. No, I dont think that would help - build number is more likely to get you results from the p1woc.co.uk forum register, but only if the car has been bought and registered on there by an owner. A HPI check might help though, if the car has been written off between when you had it and now, it would be recorded on the original plate. Vale Motors still exist by the looks of things, otherwise why not try trolling Facebook for this Kevin chap you mention.
  8. Nice wee story that, would truly be a great barn find if the old guy still had it. Might want to try posting on p1woc.co.uk as well, might get a bit more coverage seeing as its a P1. Do you happen to know or remember the build number ? This might help in the search.
  9. Looks nice, thats the route I should have gone down when I sold my 1st classic, instead of buying that crap 55 Hawkeye WRX. Ended up with a P1 so cant complain, if I had to have a newage again I would go for something similar. Oh, and dont let anyone say you cant get a black car nice and clean - some inspiration for you when the weather clears up: DSC_0348 by ignitionlab, on Flickr
  10. Glyn - BallaSTIc used to organise them, but not been one in a while.
  11. I bought a set for my old Hawkeye and they were a vast improvement over the standard clunky Subaru ones, worth the money but I didnt keep the Hawk long so cant say what they are like over a longer period of time, had them on the car for about 3 months before I went old skool again.
  12. Ciaran mate.... you dont know what a complete car is... judging by all the bits you have sitting around - Craig tells me you could have at least three imprezas built by now.
  13. My P1 is already mint you cheeky bugger... its yours that needs all the work. By the time I get a refund from the insurance, less than 500 quid and a day and a half of my time for some web work. I was originally going down the cheepy Fiesta/Fiat route, but getting something 4wd for winter was more appealing.
