  1. Confirms my suspicions about Renfrew being the arse end of anywhere!! Yep, I noticed that quite a lot of PA postcodes are on their "Highlands" list....WTF!!!
  2. Cheers Baz . I'll be there at Kames from early doors, but not certain about the next meet or 2 due to work though .
  3. Cheers Craig, Aye but slowly. I'm just plodding away at a few things at a time now that it's just a weekend toy .
  4. I've done a few wee bits'n'bobs recently, but not a huge amount to actually show for it. Got some new grooved discs for the front & back, totally refurbed the 4-pots I picked up and stripped them back to shiny bare metal and engine lacquered them. Still to be fitted though. Fitted a nice new leather & red stitching STi gear knob to match the steering wheel. CHanged my mind yet again regarding wheels for the car. In the process of selling the JDM 16" alloys and a set of 17" Speedline Turini because I picked myself up a set of black 16" Speedline ST2 for the winter and a lovely set of gold 17" Speedline ST2 for the summer, so best of both worlds I think . Pics to follow when all the wheels arrive here. I also took delivery of my replacement 555 Decal Kit. Just need a bit of a hand in fitting them properly. So apart from expecting a delivery of a new roof vent handle some day soon courtesy of Ade over on Type-RA, I should be able to get on with fitting my 4-pot set-up and enjoying the summer and a few track days with the beast. Track day at Kames on 23rd June should be a blast. Here's a few pics, and will post some more when more items arrive. Also got some D1 wheels nut, WRC pedal covers and a Prodrive cone filter heat shield to get fitted.
  5. Warped disc perhaps? Will distort more with heat, the settle back down to an occasional rub off the pads at slow speed when cold? Oops, just noticed your first post saying they were new brakes. Was it new discs & pads on the rear? Is there any chance you cooked them before bedding them in?
  6. Cracking write-up there, and hopefully that's all your bad luck out of the way for the season . Best of luck for the rest of the year mate, I'll be keeping an eye out for your results and further updates .
  7. Congrats Kiera . So does that mean we're gonna have a run and a BBQ at the next Glasgow meet?? :smiley-taunt014:
  8. The bug's looking great Marko . I was eyeing those up a few weks ago when I was up at Paul's, you nearly never had them, if only they suited the 555 .
  9. The Rally Experience sounds great. What are the details/cost for that? Just thinking ahead as it's my 40th this year and would love to do something like that rather than the usual supercar experience type thingy .
  10. ^^^^ did you find a private road or two on the way home then Baz???
  11. Cheers Kenny, just found this "noddy guide" on Youtube also .
  12. Colour match was good Kenny. No lacquer needed, but tbh was good to reprotect the metal, and will get a paintshop to restore the finish properly later. Just got to psych myself up to fit the 4-pots and new wheels. Anyone got any tips for doing the bleeding of the brakes?
  13. Just a quick update. Ground down 2 patches of rust and restored the finish. T-cut the rest of the car, bought a few new items (4-pots & discs & hoses, steering wheel & boss, Speedline PF7's & D1 forged wheel nuts). Also replaced two parts of the sideskirts, replaced both L&R roof gutter trims and fitted the new steering wheel. Also got and fitted a replacement nearside elect folding mirror from PaulSTi555 . Here's a few pics from my phone:
  14. You been piling the weight on over the Fling weekend or something Del?
  15. I think you can do a TGV delete mod. So if it turns out that you've got an expensive replacement part to buy for this fault, it might be worthwhile looking at the delete option? I'm sure someone with more experience in this will be along to advise soon .
  16. All that having been said, seatCUPRA.net is a bustling cosmopolitan community with a mix of owners from all across the Seat brand, so there would be an argument for leaving as SImprezaDC? Not sure what would be best for SIDC tbh, but at least we're trying to widen our target audience, which can only be a good thing .
  17. There's a great wee garage down in Lesmahagow that's scooby friendly.....belongs to Badbaz!!! McGowan & Sons I think it's called.
  18. Was it not supposed to be a charity RR event Kenny? Mibbies we can see if Gus can resurect this and see about getting a date booked?
  19. Davey/Gordon, I just checked there and it was actually a bottle of blue CarPlan T-cut Colour Fast I used . I also carried out my best modification on the car to date.......
  20. Lol, Gordon I'm soooo not into detailing. Bought this stuff a few years back (Bloody hell, maybe even 15yrs) to take out a few light scratches on my then new Pug 306DturboS . TBH I don't know a thing about claying, but know a man that does. Speak to Colin aka C_WRX (Drop him a goat), and he'll set you on the right path. Once my paintwork is done I'm gonna let him go to town on some paint correction, only because the car is new to me and has so obviously been seriously neglected cosmetically by previous owners .
  21. It was just some dark blue colour turtle wax with t-cut. Got it from halfrauds a few years back, will get a pic of the bottle to show you.
  22. Just a few pics of the very flat paintwork on the bonnet. Thought I'd have a very quick look at it to see what kind of potential lay underneath.......think it'll be nice when all done .
  23. Afraid not Paul. I think I may have somehow mis-typed my number over on the Type-RA forum?
  24. The Blob is looking good Paul, nearly as nice as the 555, but not quite though . It'll be very Spec C-like when the flappy gets done . Hope you're feeling better soon bud . P.S. The wing mirror thing can wait till you're up to it.
  25. Def not small hands!!!!!
