  1. Or a Prius....oh, wait a minute, Subaru have an awd version of that on their books already .
  2. I wonder if that'll be with a car using the flat-4 based platform it's sharing with Subaru, or something of Toyota's??? It'll be interesting to see what takes shape
  3. The only time I've ever had white smoke from any car was when my head gasket had blown? Try and get a picture of your smoking turbo bar and put up so we can have a look.
  4. Have a look on ebay Stewart. I picked up a really good condition Nikkon D70 for about £175 with a basic lens last year. You'll get loads of folk saying Canon this and Nikkon that, but just get what you can afford. Like you, I enjoy taking loads of pics and didn't want to spend the earth then find out I'm pants at the photography lark. I picked the D70 after reading loads of reviews, and came to the conclusion that because it has the drive for the lenses built into the camera then I'm not limited to the much newer and more expensive lenses with built in motors. I also was used to the Nikkon layout after owning a few 35mm SLR Nikkons in the past. I'd suggest that you do a bit of research, then have a look on ebay and see what sort of kit you can afford. If for no other reason, then get a DSLR because it's sooo easy to take pics compared to a compact. And you'll end up taking 5 times as many to pick out some good-uns from. I'm still messing about with different settings and different processing techniques.
  5. I always use the oil temp gauge as a marker for when to use boost safely.
  6. Have a look over at the Impreza Sport website for all issues and possibly pick up some 2nd hand bits of kit to release a bit more power. You can get a decat section that takes out either one or both of the cats, which will help with power and give you a bit more of a rumble. If you put on unequal length headers you might get a bit more of the flat-4 burble, but you'll lose some of the power as a consequence. Anyways, click below and have a browse : ImprezaSports.net
  7. It's not that you'll get pulled by the rozzers Franky, more like your engine lubricating oil has been diluted by the fuel that could be pissing into your engine.
  8. And if you're on that road on Thursday evening, why don't you pop along to Kames and join us for a few laps around the track? Assuming it has been confirmed by then
  9. I see it's also on iPlayer in case any of you miss it on Sunday .
  10. Cheers Imy, will need to sky+ that for sure .
  11. What a load of old codswhallop!!!! Even if I was in the market for a spec-discrete model, I doubt I could be bothered to even speak to a guy who came up with that crappy advert.....he'd probably have you there for hours feeding you bullsh@t about how this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own the bestest car on the planet ever!!!!
  12. Happy Birthday Graeme, many happy returns.
  13. When you get the replacement seals Frankie, you MUST ensure that you smear some vaseline or oil on the seals prior to fitting so you don't damage them again!!!
  14. I've got a load of Denso seals from topmount injectors you can try? Not sure if any will fit, but worth a go nonetheless? Did you manage to confirm that your #2 seal was goosed?
  15. Just had a look at the ScotKart and Xtreme Karting websites. Both places do junior cadets from 8-10yrs. Minimum height restrictions of 4' 3" - which rules out my youngest (very lightweight and has no fear). Xtreme - £50 for three 1.5hr (One a month) sessions to qualify for being allowed to attend practice session with the older 10-15yr kids. ScotKart - £20 per 1.5hr session held every weekend morning 09:30-11:00. Also gets a cadet qualification. I'm going to look into it a little bit more, but looks like my oldest might be getting a bunch of lessons as part of her Birthday present in August.
  16. My two girls are also wanting to try Karting, but maybe not a cadet series. Does anyone know the age restrictions for junior karts? Mine are aged 7 and 9 just now.
  17. Did it have the name 'StrikE' stickered on the rear 1/4 windows?? Doubt it'll have been Del, he's usually got his mega sensible head on whilst driving the Prius Mon-Fri . Plus you'd have heard the distinctive roar from his backboxes.
  18. When I saw Frankie the other day it was also smelling of fuel whilst only idling, not so good . If it were me I'd be having a look at the injectors as soon as possible, and not driving it in the meantime. There's been a few nice machines that have caught fire recently (Split fuel rail for one of them) and wouldn't want this ending up as another statistic . P.S. Gimme a shout if you need a hand.
  19. Echoing what Paul just said, and with it being a wrx I'd have to recommend sticking with the 16g TD05. Fit the correct supporting mods and get it mapped by Andy Forrest . The following has been taken from Andy's website for reference: http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58637.html Level 2 310-330bhp Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump Apexi Induction system with resonator delete ESL custom live mapping of original ECU NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs High Flow multi spray fuel injectors 550cc (380cc std) Front mount intercooler MY 97 –00 map sensor (higher pressure rating)
  20. Did you try out what I suggested the other night? Maybe even swapping your injectors over to see if it's stuck open?
  21. Glad you're all sorted and out there enjoying it now
  22. Great figures Kenny . See you on Saturday for a lap or two of Kames .
  23. Try interparcel.com , and for heavy items use the interparcel economy option. It's actually UPS on a 48hr service and is always tops.
  24. Especially as it's a newage STi then Andy Forrest is the way I'd go. Your TMIC is good for at least 400bhp, your gearbox will do for up to 600?? So at least if you go to around 340bhp on your existing setup, but with a panel filter and decat downpipe you'll be laughing, and so ready for your next upgrade upgrade of the turbo and injectors . (Only rough figures off the top of my head).
