nice wee end to the day too, what the club should be all about IMHO. quite a few members put in a lot of dedication over this weekend to make things happen.

had a great day, many thanks to john for organising. i was a wee bit apprehensive in the morning due to the rain but decided to give it a go anyway. pretty sure i was slowest in the morning and still managed two spins. the one a duffus convinced me to change dccd setting and it felt a lot better from there on in. surprised at how tricky that wee chicane on the back straight was if you didnt get the right line. that touring car instructor was excellent, if he hadnt of shown us round the track im pretty sure i would have been visiting every gravel trap/piece of grass kev no worries, i was feeling a lot more comfortable with the car by then. well done on the medal.

i have burnt out two sets of front dust seals since getting car and havent been very hard on car, definatly need compound change at the least but would rather do it right in a oner. id be more inclined to do track days now as i get older (possibly wiser???) and protect my licence. ive friends with different marks and they have commented about car clubs being quiter as well.

did think about it but brakes really arent up to it, after i promised myself to keep car standard . kit i want needs to be made and not off the shelf.

why not swap them about to test. i think in all probability they will all be ok. i take it cars not firing. its more likely to be wiring to pump under back seats or pump its self. ive noted a few threads on this over the years but not suffered the problem personally. another possibility would be immobiliser.

is it 5spd or 6sp? at 400 torque i would be fitting uprated exedy myself. would also fit lightweigh flywheel if its a laggy turbo, otherwise i would definatly get flywheel skimmed + new spigot bearing. possibly rear crank seal depending on age.

same as p1ggm here, dont know about newages. on the classic the relays are cyclindrical. The one with green connector is fuel, blue is windows and i cant remeber what the pink one is exactly, may be central locking.

all the best in the competition

you should get a very tidy classic for that amount. if you go straight for sti and miss wrx and uk turbos you will be happier with it for longer at the beginning without need to mod, and get a few better parts for later. gearboxes were revised from 1999 so i personally would be looking at 1999/2000 age. i had my last impreza for three years and recently changed for a reasonably new import due to them being a lot fresher underneath etc.

had a wee look round the site while i was at it, and it appears the shows returning to our screens next sunday. nae been too impressed with the usual contrived tripe but will still watch. apart fae news get nothing else for the licence.

Heres a few of the stand in the early morning before folk arrived. outnumbered by competition with a stange shorter blue one in the middle. some closer ones lovely tint in real life from the collinite wax havent seen this before few blatant ones of mine winning subaru, peterw sons, very very clean. a very wet day but was good to catch up with regulars and cheers to peter for the cake.

congratulations to the both of you. pete for being new ro and al for getting deserved break.

remove lower back seat, then the upper. remove the trim behind seat then the trim on b pillar pulls off. think i undid seatbelt reels as well but cant be sure. the parcel shelf cover should then be free to be removed. i think there were two push fit studs anchoring the shelf cover but i pulled it out and realised afterwards. would be wise to have a look up the back and see if you can realease them first. they were yellow in colour iirc.

Simple Question ..eibach Springs .. Are They Good?
euan_r replied to Scooby Wagon Addict's topic in Scottish Scoobies
the set of eibachs i had on a classic were fine, no clunks etc as they only lowered a little bit so were fine with oem struts. you might want to put on a section of coil wrap on the fronts for corrosion protection. rears came with plastic sleeve already on nearest wound coils and rear struts have rubber spacer on strut collar. if i was doing it again i would add a bit of coil wrap too lowest run of front springs where they may rub against strut collar. how old are struts? ive twice renewed stuts all round on subarus ive bought second hand and its been very rewarding. -
yes. dot 3,dot 4, dot 5.1 are same fluid type but with higher boiling points up the range. ive always used 5.1 personally. just under no circumstances use mineral or silicon (dot 5).

roost roost and mare roost. thats what will cost in the long term and old classics are starting to show signs if not looked after. dont believe those that say its only a few hundred notes to touch up etc. it will need cutting out and done properly it costs. any mechanicals that are tired wont be too hard to replace as there are loads of spares and new bits avaliable.

nae rain here. second bbq this afternoon. the heat will hopefully dry up the impreza boot after a few beer casualties were inflicted on drive home from the shops.
-
im going dale but will see you there.

big thanks to alan for reading my ecu today when i dropped in past unannounced. cel hasnt flashed again but will get new sensor just to be sure. cheers min. ps. bbq at Rrrrallye ?
-
love too but dont think its fair on the old man. can always throw a tent in the boot on the day if its quiet.

my god, your inlaws are individually worse than me and alan combined for breaking stuff

hmm... its all very strange. cars first registered in the uk sept 07. so the rules say its £405 as emissions on v5 are 326g/km*. i did check this to avoid being over taxed. this is what renewal came threw as and i paid at beginning of this month. just been on dvla site and entered reg and v5 ref number and it now says £245 for 12 months due 4/2011, i did check end of last year and it was definatly £405 due 4/2010. i will check we them up the morns night as their shut now. *it was sva`d but i have no idea how it went through as there is no model report for v6 type r and car was less than 10 years old then.
