  1. ive got one. need somebody else with one... i happened to have one after getting hub of import to replace mine with kackered wheel bearing, another route you could explore.
  2. very nice graham, i must admit they are growing on me. i though it may well be something new new as you have the classic as a toy.
  3. my 98 uk on 15" canadian snow tyres made of walnut shells is excellent, on par with leggacy which is fitted with 14s m+s all year round. i think ive broken the dccd on new car with the 18s which were truely awfull in the snow.
  4. if shoe was on other foot i cant see them giving refund for any unused milage allowance. i wouldnt ignore or tell them to **** off. nae worth buggering up any credit score for the small amount it is, if you have any plans to move house etc.
  5. get it sniff tested that will tell you one way or the other. if its relatively minor phone the boy that wanted it and see if hes still needing it. the dash temp gauge is crap and stays fairly linear over a large temp range. surprised the cels on though. our legacy split a metal pipe under manifold the other week and still got it home from inverurie, no cel. did change the oil as well just incase it got heated up a bit. lol at wuz
  6. killing in the name of is a quality tune , didnt realise its been re realeased. never the less christmas number one is the pogues, regardless.
  7. ps. why are you changing from steel whishbones to alloy? dont belive weight saving is an issue.
  8. got one spare when i got a second hand hub off import if you become stuck. not sure if dealers will stock with alloy arms only comming on imports. depends if anyone else has one spare though............

  10. the problem is uk classics are getting old and if they havent been looked after bodywork wise, since new, then they are starting to show it now. this is what costs the money to put right. the likes of yer shocks, bearings etc are just wear and tear items that need replaced after a certain usage which is fair enough. fit the parts your self and they cost pennies to replace. im going to be selling my uk too, mechanically its fine, but ive already replaced one rear arch (cost a fair bit) and given what the cars book value is now it wont be economical to do more bodywork if any other issues arise further down the line. once any panels have been repaired they wont last as long as clean looked after originals IMHO.
  11. sad to hear your selling the classic cal. loved your epic write ups about the ring etc. i am sure you will still be about. ps. would a nice new hatch no make for a safe reliable family car with the ability to have fun when needed.
  12. aye, just a snowfoam lance but good fun.
  13. my first subaru old wagon current car, been 3 years now, time for a change i think and just cause ive got a new gadget
  14. you need to get a proper seal kit min. suprised at such a young car needing them done but then again ive seen your driving. oh aye there should be two copper washers one either side of banjo fitting too. i would have replaced the seals to you if you wanted but its a fair distance awa. edit: your needing these: rear brembo seals
  15. run them well beyond knowing its gone but have never once been able to feel play by wobbling the wheel. take the brake pads/shoes out, refit the wheels, then wobble and its a whole different matter.... importcarparts have never failed to deliver quickly. i usually strip the hub/knuckle and take it to local garage for bearing to be pressed out/in.
  16. pads and discs will definatly need replaced. perhaps discs had seen better days anyway, less metal easier to get glowing.
  17. good to hear and that the car passed lol. just kent cause i use to have an old four plugged ecu car and did consider options avaliable at the time. chip would have been ok the now as it was running rich but i just personally wouldnt run an unknown map. better to be safe than sorry. nice to see youve sourced an airbox too. tbh russels post, as always, would identify the actual issue.
  18. aye been a while min, was the car still attracting unwanted attention?
  19. have you rechecked codes since resetting to see if maf code has reappeared? i would ditch the zerosports chip as its probably mapped for 100ron and very aggresive. no need to source another ecu, just remove chip inside and resolder resister j1, it will be the one cut. regards overfuelling if plugs are ok, i would change lambda for universal three wire bosch one as they are not dear and being fitted in early jap location of headers its probably had a fair heat up anyway.
  20. id come along for a nosey but wouldnt be going on.
  21. i give up. and thats the revised post
  22. should fit if your current exhaust is indeed standard and new pipe is indeed of another classic and 2.5". its only four bolts and exhaust hanger anyway.
  23. wow thats a short life. even with gorilla fitting techniques i would of expected a lot longer than that. was bearing changed using a press and did they change seals and circlip afterwards? if first bearing was gone and not noticed quick enough they damage the hub and new bearing wont sit right. lost count of how many subaru wheel bearings me and my folks have had replaced over the years.
  24. just browsing parts for sale and saw this: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-gene...ic-upgrade.html dont know if v3/v4 from v1/v2 is much of a difference for cost though.
