  4. ach is at a? moray/highland lot take you to resteraunt, let you eat, then on way back to car tell you how it was in the papers a dead seagull was found in fridge. still better than a live one i suppose. would have poped through for a change as had the day off but only released there was a meet at 7 ish.
  5. certainly an excellent start for new car. still doesnt look right though
  6. was writting a great spiel about the different classic versions mapping/gearboxes/turbos differences which i have picked up over the years being on this site then read pedals advertisement again. go buy his car.
  7. i think it will depend on make of springs. kenning gus he would have hid whiteline springs.
  8. the 40/45 bit is a percentage based on width. running 215/45/17 with absolutely no chance of rubbing on eibachs. actually raised my rear end as original springs must have been very tired. 225/45/17 i would be crossing my fingers but they could well fit, depends how hard its pushed round corners and height springs give. someone else will have bound to have tried it before.
  9. pics look great to me. looks like it was a fine day for it too.
  10. prefer std looking bonnet to be honest.

  12. feel really sorry for the guy would have been bad enough torching his evo but takes out his other two cars too if it was me i would be absolutely raging, best if i never caught them in the act tbh
  13. i think you should enjoy it while you can. goverment is paying out more than it is raking in at the moment, so wont cut tax. welcome to the benefit state
  14. its come up a lot over last year and cant see rises stopping. it doesnt really bother me that much for the scooby, its more the knock on effects. being a farmer i use a lot of red diesel, combine going full chat all day can use 500litres. gone from 12p when i started to 67p. combined with fertiliser jumping 250% food prices will be rising significantly in the next few years. am sure there are loads of other effects, transport etc which mean the cost of living will rise more.
  15. the universal joint between steering column and rack
  16. i used power washer as i had burnt on waxoyl protecting engine but wanted to see if the was any leaks. steams just as bad as power washer. it may also be worth covering steering uj as there is no nipple.
  17. not really dave. its not group n shell with strengthened strut turrets.
  18. i knackered my alternator but i went completely mad with the power washer. watch out for fins on intercooler/radiator they are soft. ive power washed engine bay tons of times now and not had any probs with electric connectors just the alternator but i was spraying it directly with power washer. bit of grease/ copper slip back on to earth points on battery and chassis to protect them after.
  19. good idea tommo, they are currently packed with grease while i decide. yeah alan, my cars finally stopped dripping waxoyl out of drain holes . note to anyone waxoyling in this nice weather leave car in shade while it goes off.
  20. cheers. did consider doing the welding myself but last time i did a car i had a bit of a job cause i kept setting it on fire. lol. so glad i paid someone to do it.
