  1. nice purchase, properly clean classics are becomming rarer. ps. it always starts off as just a few bits and pieces.........
  2. happy birthday min, i had a cake and some beers for you.
  3. ya bugger dave. there wasnt anybody else from club with us. just as well as the route we took into stage was em..slightly off road and blocked by fallen trees, which dave just drove over i had a slight altercation with a security gate to boot.
  4. ive devoured a curry there, cant remember if it was good or not but it dissappeared pretty quick. mind you i had been drinking since breakfast at loopallu. sounds a good weekend but unfortunatly it will be lambing season otherwise id have my name doon.
  5. gie alan a phone hes nae that far away and hes fiddled with his own ecu. if it was classic i would be thinking cam or crank sensors but these usually give bother starting, dont know if they would make it cut out whilst running.
  6. its a h&s back box thats on my old car. pretty discreet with full decat without being too loud.
  7. got my dates mixed up thought it was 13th but as its the 20th should manage to scrounch a day off work.
  8. looking shinny min. thats you home and its started snowing again.
  9. raye blocked it just now. nipples seem to be push fit as i removed one from my phase 1.5 car and another from a back up turbo. will take throttle body off and extract reminants of old one at weekend. which reminds me id better get new gasket ordered.
  10. too slow posting. aye, looks like a new throttle body needed, must have been loosing a small amount of boost.
  11. cheers iain ive now found where it should go. top dead centre of throttle body. there is small hole where nipple should be but its been snapped off. looks like i will have to get replacement body.
  12. it must have gone to where ive marked "original" in photo below:
  13. cant find any spare holes on manifold. i think its been pinched for boost gauge, will tee it in. cheers.
  14. many thanks iain. i did have a look round for any nipples not connected but will give manifold a further inspection just now.
  15. I need a spot of help. ive discovered a loose hose round the back of my classics phase 2 manifold and dont have a clue where its supposed to go. the offending item is shown below. whats the name of sensor and where is the hose supposed to be connected to? thanks.
  16. as above flaking paint on manifold means nothing. my advise, have a look at one in for sale section here. it has the bits done that you would need to get done already, ie mapping for uk fuel etc. bargain for whats been spent.
  17. powder coating is far more durable than paint/laquer. now that i have finally got a proper forged set will be getting them powder coated when the time comes. good topic, will be interesting to see long term results.
  18. i think some newage imports only came with 2 pots. something to do with them being minimally built as they were to be stripped later for rallying. op hasnt given any info so its impossible to know. a picture even without wheels off will tell instantly.
  19. another ? edit: oops should have waited for pics to load first time, saw it advertised a few days ago
  20. ive rolled a classic with quite a few revolutions down a hill and walked away without even a scratch, they are built solidly despite the low weight. am sure some of the modern test are more for pedestrians saftey if you hit them. theres quite a few others on here that have had similar experience and hence why they went straight out and bought another classic.
  21. standard filter for me. i think harvey did a comparison test.
  22. i shall have to get a simtek with maf delete, purely for engine safety.
  23. i used wheelcarrier earlier last week, think they are just a broker, as it was actually dhl that did delivery. 27 pound for 4 wheels and tyres. you might well get cheaper elsewhere but i never bothered looking around cause at least they never included ab postcodes as highland deliveries, for which there are extra costs.
