  1. cheers lads, cake dissapeared far too quickly. cheeky git, been searching to see if 12kg centre will fit into later box.
  2. nope only 97/98 cars cant have original ecu mapped, there was talk on even it being done on mass but it hasnt materialised. have a look on andy forrests site.
  3. nice one alan, bet your itching for cement to dry. you sourced transformer or just getting three phase feed .
  4. why keep subframes? uk models are bushed. some have solid mounts, might be ra/r canny mind. rebuild rb as road car and new as dedicated track car.
  5. welded wheel on to hub when studs broke then cut 4 fields of grass, one of the better jobs, radio on
  6. ****e. Old wagon was pulling well at 148K with tdo5, original head gaskets etc.
  7. ive two sets that could be doing with refurbed too. moray group buy?
  8. think you will need rear diff without looking at codes. iirc drop gears are different at very least, import vs uk. having gone through a few boxes on a previous car if it happens to me once more i would do it right first time send it straight to api. cheaper in long run, though a pre 99 uk box isnt the best place to start from.
  9. nice wee end to the day too, what the club should be all about IMHO. quite a few members put in a lot of dedication over this weekend to make things happen.
  10. had a great day, many thanks to john for organising. i was a wee bit apprehensive in the morning due to the rain but decided to give it a go anyway. pretty sure i was slowest in the morning and still managed two spins. the one a duffus convinced me to change dccd setting and it felt a lot better from there on in. surprised at how tricky that wee chicane on the back straight was if you didnt get the right line. that touring car instructor was excellent, if he hadnt of shown us round the track im pretty sure i would have been visiting every gravel trap/piece of grass kev no worries, i was feeling a lot more comfortable with the car by then. well done on the medal.
  11. i have burnt out two sets of front dust seals since getting car and havent been very hard on car, definatly need compound change at the least but would rather do it right in a oner. id be more inclined to do track days now as i get older (possibly wiser???) and protect my licence. ive friends with different marks and they have commented about car clubs being quiter as well.
  12. did think about it but brakes really arent up to it, after i promised myself to keep car standard . kit i want needs to be made and not off the shelf.
  13. why not swap them about to test. i think in all probability they will all be ok. i take it cars not firing. its more likely to be wiring to pump under back seats or pump its self. ive noted a few threads on this over the years but not suffered the problem personally. another possibility would be immobiliser.
  14. is it 5spd or 6sp? at 400 torque i would be fitting uprated exedy myself. would also fit lightweigh flywheel if its a laggy turbo, otherwise i would definatly get flywheel skimmed + new spigot bearing. possibly rear crank seal depending on age.
  15. same as p1ggm here, dont know about newages. on the classic the relays are cyclindrical. The one with green connector is fuel, blue is windows and i cant remeber what the pink one is exactly, may be central locking.
  16. you should get a very tidy classic for that amount. if you go straight for sti and miss wrx and uk turbos you will be happier with it for longer at the beginning without need to mod, and get a few better parts for later. gearboxes were revised from 1999 so i personally would be looking at 1999/2000 age. i had my last impreza for three years and recently changed for a reasonably new import due to them being a lot fresher underneath etc.
  17. very nice. you werent in huntly asda this afternoon by any chance? very similar car parked right behind mine when i came out.
  18. depends on age, just had to get cat back custom exhaust at turriff tyres as aftermarket options were a bit thin on the ground for 02 onwards forester.
  19. had a wee look round the site while i was at it, and it appears the shows returning to our screens next sunday. nae been too impressed with the usual contrived tripe but will still watch. apart fae news get nothing else for the licence.
  20. Cheers lads, Dave think i will keep this one for a while yet needs a few bits done The rain wasnt pouring down but it never stopped. Been a while since last local meet so was plenty to catch up on anyways.
  21. Heres a few of the stand in the early morning before folk arrived. outnumbered by competition with a stange shorter blue one in the middle. some closer ones lovely tint in real life from the collinite wax havent seen this before few blatant ones of mine winning subaru, peterw sons, very very clean. a very wet day but was good to catch up with regulars and cheers to peter for the cake.
  22. congratulations to the both of you. pete for being new ro and al for getting deserved break.
  23. remove lower back seat, then the upper. remove the trim behind seat then the trim on b pillar pulls off. think i undid seatbelt reels as well but cant be sure. the parcel shelf cover should then be free to be removed. i think there were two push fit studs anchoring the shelf cover but i pulled it out and realised afterwards. would be wise to have a look up the back and see if you can realease them first. they were yellow in colour iirc.
