  1. Now i do like my weekend car being clean but function is number one priority.....its only my winters......still hated doing it......well even johns dad hated doing it...but needs must and all that. Taffy has very big spacers fitted but even then i wouldnt like to guess wrt brembos.
  2. I would take lewis up on his offer. Not all 18 s clear brembos.
  3. No oil will fix it only mask it. I used to run syntrax religiously but made switch to redline lightweight shockproof a few years ago. This did eventually mask a tiny snick i had going into fourth at high rpm. However i find its hugely better on a cold morning and smoother changes in all other conditions too. I will not be going back to syntrax.
  4. My type r is my clean car and only used at weekends but will get used no matter what. Its a good job its dark so i cant see the mess the gritters have made of it today with a run over cairngorms. Forester for daily abuse.
  5. If your meaning additives which you add to the fuel, i dont use them. Good quality petrol contains cleaners already. That and good servicing should be enough. If you mean add on gizmos they are tat.
  6. You cant say that against purdy.
  7. Admiral but your white one will be too modified for them, you will get cover for your green one though. A-plan have always been very competitive too and not so disapproving of bigger mods, i will need to switch next year.
  8. Thats fairly saved you a few bob. Can i ask if your car is import? I tried aviva online quote but was told they couldnt provide a quote based on my details. My details are all decent ( im not stevie wonder/ axe murderer/ been on geordie shore etc) so presumed car being import must have been issue.
  9. Damage didnt look so bad when i clocked quick glance at johns. Lot of pish spoken about subaru specialists up here. No such worries with maclarens garage aberchider. Rocker seals can be done easily insitu lewis, dont believe everything you hear.
  10. funnily enough, if i drive it for prolonged periods the use of a stick or zimmer frame would be beneficial. Thats on under 6k milage alan, though its usually broken so half of that would be optimistic.
  11. thanks don i will try foresterspares for a quote, the ebay ones are sold or they are wanting 150 for a light. These foresters arent cheap, think it was circa 700 just for rear shocks alone a couple years ago.
  12. Hi, don im not registered on forester.org and seems international site. Do you happen to know if anyones breaking a 02-05 shape forrester in the uk? Specifically after drivers rear light. Getting expensive quotes from online breakers.
  13. Guess im turning in to old fart, thats the automatic renewal quote through the post today. Fully comp 378 with combined excess of 250. Dont think i can be hooped phoning around.
  14. Season 3 of the killing begins tonight on bbc4.
  15. Sad news, a true loss to the subaru community.
  16. Think i will just get cheaper uk option as even ptps own site states they do harden over time. Dave just td05 sleeve bearing turbo as ive already had to replace vf28 recently, nothing fancy. 16gxt or maybe even evo3 compressor wheel.
  17. Thanks for replies. I seem to remove oem heatshield a fair few times during the course of a year whilst tinkering. How are they for durability? Do they harden up over time like heat wrap?
  18. Hi, been thinking of replacing oem heat shield with a heat blanket prior to fitting larger tmic to help with heat control. Can anybody recommend a good quality one to fit?
  19. nice find del. It may not be grant trial as there was a couple made iirc.
  20. Sticking some photies of interior up will help min.
  21. welcome back, bit quieter up here nowadays.
  22. Got a nice surprise in the post this morning , i hadnt even clocked this thread. Many thanks.
  23. It's letting the air pressure drop rather than going back through turbo. If you remove vta you would need to refit standard item. Not sure what phase of car you have but may need to check you have associated pipe work too but you should find bung in oem return path.
  24. Very good, new ages are hefty. Cost a good whack doing the mods I told you to do in previous posts but are fully worth it.
