  1. Thanks for the replies guys Ive had a go on Shiply, just waiting for the responses now. Cant wait to get the motor back on the road and tag along on some runs!
  2. Hi folks, Can anyone recommend a company for transporting the car from Dundee to Perth? Hopefully next week from Wednesday onwards. Its finally time for the scoob to get its new engine fitted! Oh and its a non runner and its lowered. Thanks, Kev
  3. Haha sorry. Any weather within reason, if its too cold the product might work but your hands might not! It'll be a while before theres a warm sunny day in Kinloss!
  4. I'll second that, they are a top bunch! Spent a fortune on stuff from them! And spent many hours looking through their site, they're definitely one of the best in the business. And the Werkstat products are excellent and sooo easy to use in any weather.
  5. Thanks for the replies guys, some good info there. Looks like Steve Whitson will be getting a phonecall. Ciaran, i'll see what my options are and let you know about that block. I might just need to outdo you in the power stakes! Haha. Nah, i'll be happy at 400ish but we'll see. Cheers, Kev
  6. Yeh im thinking brand new will be the better and safer option. Definitly want more power this time, but too mental though. 350-400 is what im thinking just now. Already got a list of parts to buy: 2.5 forged short engine, bigger turbo, uprated fuel pump and pressure regulator, 740cc injectors, front mount intercooler, remap, and a few other bits and bobs. Ive got about £4500 to splash just now so i'll get what i can. Any idea about the 2.0 heads on a 2.5 block? Cheers, Kev
  7. So, last week I was driving along then my oil warning light started flickering at idle, so i nursed the car home (about 2 miles). When I got home I could hear a knocking from the engine A quick browse online pointed towards a blockage or breakage somewhere resulting in oil starvation. The oil level was fine, it gets checked every fortnight. A visit to Autoecosse comfirmed the worst, knocking bottom end and damaged turbo due to oil starvation So, after getting over the disappointment its time to plan what to do next. Its going to be bigger and better! Been looking at engines online, looks like it'll be a 2.5 lump since thats all I can find! I would prefer a new block as im wary of a second-hand one. However, ive found this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-EJ257-STI-Forged-Short-Engine-20k-miles-/250844915493?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a6785a725 Anyone think its worth going for or am i just better getting a brand new block? Also, do 2.0 heads fit on a 2.5 block? Ive read they do but need a thicker head gasket to get the correct compresion ratio, true? Any help is much appreciated. Cheers, Kev
  8. Its a reversing camera, thats going in the front bumper! I disconnected it, because the power wire wasnt long enough, and thats when the problems started. Im stumped! Cheers, Kev
  9. Right, i wired a new gizmo into the exsisting stereo wires and everything worked fine . After plastering about, trying to find a place for it, i checked if it was all still working but the stereo wont go on, and the dash clock resets to 1:00 everytime i turn on the ignition . Ive checked the connections and fuses but they're all fine. Any suggestions? Cheers, Kev
  10. It's ok folks, "problem" solved this morning. Turns out I'm just clumsy and blind. Although Davie you were right with the diff, so cheers anyway. At some point yesterday I somehow managed to nudge my dccd forward one, and also managed to not notice it on the display either! D'oh! In my defense I was shattered and just wanted to get home to bed! Thanks anyway again. Cheers, Kev.
  11. Hi guys, can anyone help? A problem that started today. During slow cornering (under 10mph) the car has developed a kind of judder / dragging feel. Its like a mix between the handbrake being slighty on and having a puncture. Otherwise everything feels fine, and quicker cornering feels ok. Any suggestions? Cheers, Kev.
  12. A white type r going past the post office bar at about 4. And also a blue bugeye with gold prodrive alloys outside jolly's also at about 4. Cheers, Kev.
  13. Hi folks, finally joined after 4 years of Scooby ownership. Im from Dundee. This is my Turbo 2000, but if all goes to plan then i'll be picking up a STi Type R on Saturday! Kev
