easy peasy alan. i put cement block under each wheel so that it sitting at normal height but allowed more room to get in about. took back box off hangers to slip out old and put new one in. I have snapped the bolt that holds on arb on my dads leggacy before though, so if they havent been touched before i would take it canny to start off with.

aye im sure i will was unsure about roll bars as reading up there was comments about oversteer and all that so went with 22mm and its nice without any of that malarkly.

fitted a 22mm rear on middle setting and droplinks all round this morning. just been a drive and its definitely a nice wee improvement. would recommend the change will move it to hardest setting and see how that goes. also changed back to std exhaust for mot and i kinda like the semi quietness

lucky boy yeah ive done similar knocked car off axle stands when undoing a very stuborn bolt. lukily i had standard jack in position as well and when it couped the threaded portion jammed against fuel tank. always use cement blocks as well now.

once managed from peterborough to aberdeenshire on less than a tank and a half most weekends managed to get through two fills sometimes as many as four have never bothered working out mpg it will just make me feel bad.

replaced mine last week with standard genuine item. from what i have read its only v5/v6 maf that are weak so not advisable to run k+n on them. know some one whos induction system is simply inlet of turbo and they work with subarus all day have a search for some of harveys posts on this matter, hes done a wee bit of testing. havent made up my mind to remove snorkel or not yet.

maybe release bearing has came out of pressure plate if you cant get any gears when running or hyrdaulic related. was it a bit notchy getting gears with engine off. if its new clutch parts are about 150 and something similar again for fitting roughly. regards job engine out/moved or gearbox out/moved. oh and new gearbox oil to add to cost

ha couldnt resist modding it would you be better getting some pads now to have handy in the car if your going to the ring?

yip had two, got a second piladies or whatever its called a few days ago too.

i would purchase a bottle of brake fluid and a one man bleeding pipe before starting, incase you do end up with air in system. bleeding pipe is just a pipe with one way valve at end makes bleeding very easy. just take your time and everything will be fine. always best doing as much yourself as possible then you know its done right imho.

if its an older car hoses could be perished round the clips. other cause could be leaky matrix or radiator. there is another alternative but you dont really want to know. headgasket but look for easier fixes first

i would see about getting it done asap, wouldnt want to get stranded anywhere and then have recovery cost too maybe. could drive it about a while yet but slowly building up speed especially around the revs where turbo kicks in. what power you running? if standard nothing wrong with 230mm standard exedy and flywheel skim.

nice vids. speaking of thermostats, have you got one of those earlier opening water thermostats? that should help lower oil temp too but not sure how great an influence it would have.

folk we classics shouldnt feel so smug just now i rekon. they have increased it for post 2001 cars so whats to stop them changing the cut off dates in the future. just more tax raising nothing green about it. scarey to work out how much we now pay when all the various forms of tax are added together.
