About stevenhiggster

  1. they look very And it is nice to be different, I dunno about anyone else but I'm starting to think black wheels are a bit too common now, remember wht happened when everyone had 3 spokes? It'll happen again with black wheels. That's why I kept mine gold
  2. It would appear so. Fact still rermains though, my car definitely runs better on Tesco 99, and it isn't just my imagination, digital knock level meters don't have imaginations.
  3. Yes that's the one, they did a very thorough test over a long period of time and in different conditions to make sure the testing was fair. Overall Tesco 99 came out on top. Fair enough though they did that test with a lightly tuned M3 not a Scoob but it still has to count for something.
  4. You see, I was getting rather bemused about the whole Tesco 99 V's V Power thing as I really didn't think there woukld be any difference and I was getin sick of people sayin 'oh you've got to use V Power blah blah blah' so I did some research. I could only find one company who have thoroughly tested both in a controlled environment. Can't remember the company but i'm sure I could find it again if anyone wants to read it themselves. Thing is every test they ran Tesco 99 came up the winner. Just sayin is all.
  5. I always use Tesco 99 too, I used to use V power but mine really does feel a lot smoother with T99. It used to splutter sometimes with V Power. Also my knock level meter tends to flutter a bit with V Power but never moves using Tesco 99.
  6. Try having a look here, they've got one for everything! http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/subcatego...a-adaptors.html
  7. All I know is that I didn't get one and my engine is fine. It's probably a good idea but I don't think it is absolutely essential.
  8. I didn't actually,I turned the boost pretty much off though and absolutely never went above 3k rpm or revved it even remotely hard. I pretty much wrapped it in cotton wool until it was mapped. The only people you hear about ruining engines while breakin em in probably haven't been taking enough care while doing it. Bill [Greer] was telling me about a guy who had it done and broke the engine while bedding it in. The guy went back into them and said he wanted it fixed and that they hadn't done it properly. Luckily someone they knew had mobile phone footage of that same guy doing doughnuts in a carpark the night before, while still breaking in his engine! Thats the sort of people who ruin engines Oh and I'm just running the standard V3 STi 5spd box and diff etc, Exedy organic clutch though to deal with the extra torque, and boy is there some extra torque
  9. Mine honestly uses no oil at all, as long as you bed it all in properly it shouldn't. I did about 300 miles on the cheapest ****tiest mineral oil you can get, it lets everything bed in properly. Then changed to proper good stuff till about 1k miles then another oil change before my remap. All done without ever going above 3k rpm. The trip home from Andy's was awesome fun Greersport did all the work on mine just about a year ago and I haven't had any problems at all.
  10. I've got a 2.5 in mine, it's great. It was a simple operation just a 2.5 sti short block so standard sti pistons, crank etc, kept my V3 heads and cams as the v3 has the best heads and cams of any scoobs. The only other upgrades that were really neccessary were uprated fuel pump, bigger injectors (650cc) and an Apexi power fc. And of course a trip to Mr Forrest. I did a few other upgrades too but not essential ones, decat downpipe full quota of samco hoses etc. Obviously you'll need a new oil pump and oil cooler too, they are definately essential. I've got 343bhp and 360lb ft, car goes like turd off a well polished shovel
  11. Black cars always look sweet after a good polish and wax
  12. I wanta set too! Where you gettin them from? Seriously though, they are funny, they'd be cool for advertising you business, they'd certainly get noticed
  13. They have done loads of work to my car, and I mean loads, they have it more often than I do! And I've got nothing but good things to say about them. I would definately recommend them.
  14. Front fogs has always been a real hate of mine, it is always wee chavs in saxo's and stuff, they do my heed in!! LMAO at the woman with the window de mister
