  2. found three relays pinned to the fuse box but which one is for the fuel pump?
  3. hi, my '53 wrx cut out on me this morning, now wont start. Don't seem to be getting fuel and was going to start by checking the relay. Is it under the bonnet or under the dash? thanks.
  4. Cheers I'll check them out. Cant be cat as complete brand new system fitted but I'll stick it on ramp tomorrow and check for leaks.
  5. Had a look on the vosa website but couldn't find anything there. Why does the car have or need two lambda's and does anyone know where I could get the second probe (the one on the downpipe-I dont have one) other than rip-off town and county!
  6. Hi there, having trouble getting my 93 import through emmisions for mot. co's are high- about 6 . When I got the car it had full decat exhaust fitted. come mot I hobbled together a standard(ish) exhaust from various places but emmisions high, so I fitted a brand new full exhaust system including downpipe from an 03 sti that fitted straight on, but emmisions are still the same. Out of the three second hand standard downpipes and the new sti one they all have holes for a lambda probe in different places but I dont have a probe to fit in. Whats the second probe for? and is this my problem or could it be the one on the exhaust manifold? (its a three wire one). Any help would be great, ta.
  7. Any suggestions for which grade oil for a 03 wrx?
  8. Thanks for all your answers. I'm getting a manual from subaru tomorrow so i'll check it out, ta.
  9. Hi there. just took delivery of my new 03 wrx. Unfortunatly it came with no manuals or paperwork of any kind. There is a key pad inside the fuse flap at drivers knee i presume is for the alarm but dont know? any idea's.ta
  10. Castrol recommend edge sport 10/w60 or magnatec 10/w40 as an alternative
  11. Hi there, any more details, starting place route etc? cheers
  12. After only owning my '93 wrx for just over a month, I was driving kome from the scrappy's with a bootfull of scooby bits I'd just got, I came to a roundabout, went round and put the power on to exit the roundabout when all of a sudden the steering went heavy and the charge light came on. No problem I thought, the belts brocken. So I got home, lifted the bonnet and the belts still there but slack and only half on the pulley? took the belt off and the pulley is wobbling around on the shaft? so I took the pulley off and the back of the pulley is worn away so much the keyway is gone. Then I looked at the sprocket and the same has happened to the sprocket and the crankshaft! The key has just eaten away the whole thing. I think that when the T.B. was last changed they lost the woodruff key and just used a mild steel one. Now the sprocket has pretty much welded itself to the crank but the keyway in the crank is a big gaping whole so if I did manage to take the sprocket off I'd never get another one to stay put. I've got another pulley and did think about drilling two holes in it and pinning it to the two holes in the sprocket but thats going to put all the pressure from all the belts on whats left of the key and if that slips bang goes engine! Anyone got any other ideas or is it simply save up for a new engine time... I dunno?
