  1. not sure as it was night when i went past and only realised when i saw the blue lights flashing at the front, theyd pulled over some poor ned. im betting its not a 1.6 zetec though!
  2. i know how it feels, after 7 years the feds seem to be the only ones who spot me in a scoob [:@] never mind, maybe i should drive slower []
  3. saw a dark blue or black new shape(5 door?) focus in inverness last night with blue lights behind the grill- so watch out!
  4. forgot to put that up,i spotted you bigman about two weeks ago! you were in your black sti waiting to get onto the roundabout at tescos heading out of inverness, i wouldve waved but i was in my stealth clio van cutting up the traffic []
  5. if it was the one im thinking of it was a serious bit of kit! the guy that had it came along to an inverness meet one night, went past my sti ppp like i was standing still! had a 400hp 2.5 engine, leda coilovers , huge ap brakes the lot. it was definitely a silver r reg type r and i know the guy sold it since then- was tempted to raid the piggybank for it! in fact the only thing he didnt pass that night was a very ably driven wr1 through bends, so maybe losing the big guys would help right enough-but i aint going to tell them to get out [] http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i300/sco...ssscoobs025.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i300/sco...ssscoobs026.jpg
  6. not sure who has it but if its got a twin headlight conversion and possibly a carbon bonnet i know the car
  7. saw a very nice euro look mk11 gti in tescos in perth tonight and noticed it had an sidc tax disc holder, anyone on here?
  8. anyone know the going rate for a kidney? thats just gorgeous
  9. thats shocking! both from aird motors and subaru,i dont know how theyre still an authorised agent, theyre hopeless [:@] at least youve got it fixed and hopefully you wint need a mechanic near it any time soon
  10. na, they look rubbish, put the ozs back on! [] onl kidding rich, they look awsome, give a nice mean and moody look to it
  11. im still here and still active! as i said to kim highlands really covers north and west of inverness which makes me the nearest port of call. ive no interest in taking over aberdeen, its big enough for its own ro and ive enough of a challenge getting the invernessians to be as active as those from elgin ps, i am a paid up member but how the hell do i put up an avatar?
  12. when they were an actual dealer they did a good job but now i wont go near them, and theyre 2 minutes from my house! put it into them as i thought there was a problem with the exhaust so wanted it checked out under warranty. went back and the first thing the mechanic said was, what do you expect if you change the exhaust, thats not the standard exhaust theres no cats in it. i then explained to him that there was a sport cat in the downpipe and the middle cats deleted as its ppp'd and he said oh havent seen that on a newage!!!! i would definitely think twice about paying the bill if youve any warranty on the car and definitely complain to subaru. as to where else to go,were a bit short up here-never used dicksons but they seemed knowledgeable and i know people whove had great service from them on scoobs. good luck with getting it sorted anyway, hope its nothiong serious!
  13. wheels go nicely with the red mica, cars looking great [Y]. just a shame about the owner... [] cmon Dale whenre you going to let everyone see the photos of that beauty we saw in inverness?
  14. just in case anyone up this way doesnt frequent the events section, theres a meet tomorrow night in inverness at 7pm,by the cinema in the retail park. any scoob or hoping to get a scoob welcome
  15. youd better get that fixed straight away, itl be costing you at least 10hp with it broken! []
  16. and what they do have is sold by men in stetsons with masks over their faces-1.05 the other day! however the tesco on the aberdeen road now has 99 ron for 99.9 so thats where il be heading i think
  17. hi Al, ive had the cel come on twice and had it checked out as it was still under warranty and apparently it was a bit of dirt going through the wastegate- both timews it happened id just filled the tank at the same petrol station so i now go elsewhere. like you say car was running fine just had the light on cheers dave
  18. that looks more like it euan [Y] retail therapy always feels great til the credit card bill arrives! you hang the other tyres up on the bird table?
  19. time to borrow one of the bowsers from work i think, wonder if theyd do it for 1200 litres? []
  20. ive got a revolution splitter on my 05,got it in the group buy on snet (think theyre running another one just now) and im quite happy with it. its not got a flwless finish or as strong as the genuine ones but it looks good and lined up fairly easily and for 110 quid jobs a good un!

  22. as evaux said having been in a similar position myself i wish id used my insurance, unless it purely panel damage. but looking at it id imagine the slam panel and front leg are a bit squint. good luck and i hope your back on the road soon [8-|]
  23. is there a big difference with the ds2500 over the standard pads? i can get oe for £100 and have been fairly happy with them. good going pretender! ive hit 12,000 with mine and theyre about ready for a change now, mind you dealer told me they were knackered 3 or 4 thou ago[:@]
  24. get a good condition one, ideally standardish or thats been owned for a while so the guy really knows it. full decat or sports cat, induction or panel filter and remap, whiteline goodies with p1/sti suspension, newage brembos or ap big brake kit and if its a toy strip out as much weight as you can, rear seats etc and youl have a very good fast road car thats still civil in town. if you want the biggest bang for your buck go for an ra, but youl get a much newer uk car for the same money
  25. maybe i didnt haggle enough! AS quoted me 144 plus postage for mine, though i didnt get a price for discs but most other places are about 170 per disc for the an 05 sti. my local garage was able to get oe pads for £100, half the price my dealer wanted! either way its still a good cost efficient upgrade,i put mintex grooved discs and uprated pads with braided brake lines on my classic and they were still nowhere near the power of the brembos
