  1. ok, last call for anyone with nothing better to do on a sunday, come along and join in with our fun and frolics this sunday. wel be heading off for a jaunt from nairn harbour just after 11am, and wel be there from 10.30. il be at tescos in inverness from 9.45 til 10 if anyone wants to head through from here. just pop along for the banter if you havent got the time for a drive, its always fun []
  2. il have my girlfriend with me- 'just a quiet drive in the country dear' [] il pay the price later [] the only time ive been grateful to an insurance company- expressly forbids anyone under 25 driving. id love to let you drive dear but...
  3. just got the prodrive spring kit fitted to my 05 sti, and im loving it. not a huge amount of difference in height but enough to notice, and what a difference in handling! sooo much better, especially with my nice new goodyear f1s - wet roads now hold no fear for me! why on earth arent these springs fitted as standard []
  4. thought id bump this back up now theres only a week to go, come on wheres your sense of adventure! if anyones unsure about coming along, dont be. all comers are welcome be it wagon, sport, newage or classic even euans managing to leave the sheep for a day []
  5. hope you enjoy it,looking forward to seeing it next weekend. and yep they all do it - if you can, open and close the door after youve had the window open to make sure its properly sealed. though if your above cough 4 cough the windows start to peel away from the frames anyway. or so i hear []
  6. saw my old car(my00 turbo) back in at the gargage i traded it too on friday, the guy who bought it had fitted lexus rear lights and a goodmans stereo [:'(]
  7. not a job to tackle yourself unless your awful confident but if you look in the boot there are spaces in the metalwork under the rear shelf for 6x9 s which will give you a huge improvement over any sort of speakers you fit in the rear doors- if you have big enough cahoonas to start attacking your parcel shelf. for me components in the front are well worth fitting but like everyone says dont expect great sound, but you can improve it. whatever you do though dont fit a noisier exhaust after the stereo, you just end up looking for bigger amps and speakers []
  8. dont know what you mean ! model of good behaviour me [A] lol afraid to say Gees wr1 was the only thing the type r didnt zoom past! of course dale was only a passenger or it wouldve been a different story []
  9. cheers euan, looks like the east coast posse will embarras the west as usual [:S]
  10. hope you enjoyed your stay in the jewel of the north [] theres loads of scoobs about here, just not many of them seem to be on here but im trying to spread the good word [A] if the silver type r had silver superleggeras on it its a nice motor with a big hp 2.5 transplant, makes my sti look like a saxo!
  11. in its natural habitat! in with the others at the first inverness meet
  12. thought id stick a reminder up here for those of us who dont frequent the events section, only a couple of weeks to our jaunt out now, looking for more new and old faces to come along, especially those from inverness or the west. dont be shy its a great chance to get to know fellow ahem, enthusiasts http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/799394/ShowPost.aspx
  13. who amongst us hasnt been tempted to sit at the side of the road in a white shirt with a hairdryer and wait for saxos, novas etc [] but to be honest Al the ones that really p s me off are the boring green x reg se spec bmws that you dont give a second glance too and are unmarked cars. or any police 330d estate, o the embarrassement, nabbed by a diesel estate[:$]
  14. hi ,im the regional organiser for up here and ive been asking about wheel repairs in inverness but there isnt anywhere as far as i know. there was a post in the for sale section a while back from blackisler who had a couple of sets of alloys for sale thatd fit you. if your about on the 12th of november theres a run out for the guys up here, have a look in the events section.
  15. welcome to the club, hope you enjoy the bugeye when you get it, see you on the 12th dave
  16. private stretch of road abroad in the middle of the night, the time vs distance backs up the speedo-130 miles in roughly an hour. done it several times without probs but no knock sensor so it may be i just didnt know about them!
  17. like the carbon scoop but id go for a smaller one "I've read that classics suffer from loss of air through the standard scoop at speeds over 120 or so mph, causing huge intake temps and finally ca-boom. " not too convinced about that but i may be wrong,i ran my classics at over 120 for an hour continuosly on several occasions without any probs
  18. like col said you wont find cleaner but you will get cheaper and probably almost as good. i know a guy who worked there when it came in and he said that its mint and the engine was rebuilt properly but that the cars are bought in at good money add the rebuild and his attitude to that and he aint going budge. but once he knows your serious(ie youve bought it) hes ok
  19. i still remember flicking through the pages of top gear magazine back in 94 and seeing an impreza for the first time, saw the scoop and huge foglights and knew i wanted one even though i was only 15. then i started following the adventures of a certain scotsman ( took the afternoon off school to watch him win the title []) and then one of my dads mates bought a brand new one complete with full prodrive interior and one trip in that really sealed it. back then ever7yone thought i was mad wanting a japanese performance car, o how times change! 5 years a mk1 golf and 306 td later i was the proud owner of a brand new my00 in deep blue mica, followed by another and now an05 sti. i really cant imagine having anything else though god knows ive looked!
  20. what make and wheres best for them? theyre for a 98 s type r for a mate, hes just putting it back on the road and noticed that one of the springs is cracked
  21. just stuck a post up in the events section for our november meet, with new improved format [] not sure whats happening in october yet as a few of us arent available but keep watching
  22. he was being a bit over enthusiastic considering he couldnt see me coming and was going purely by the sound of my exhaust. i was tempted to tell him that you can be doing max revs in 1st 2nd and 3rd without breaking the speed limit but i nodded and agreed with him. cant really blame him too much hed probably had idiots in corsas being heroes all day
  23. anyone know who stocks this in the uk? have seen acouple of bits i like on american sites but the shipping costs are terrifying!
  24. 'its a very nice car sir but the rallys in the forest' whilst at the mcrae stages on saturday wouldnt mind but i was actually travelling within the speed limits and driving responsibly but enthusiastically. think it was the fact that he heard me coming for 5 minutes []
  25. im hoping to be there too, depending on how early i get to bed tomorrow [] il keep an eye out for you at craigvenean,il just make for there through the sma glen- start the day by scaring the missus []
