  1. car looks grrreat and perfect roads to play on,not too many tourists just now-was working up therefor a few months and driving from crieff through the sma glen then out that road every morning almost made work worthwhile. except i was doing it in a diesel clio van!
  2. my last service was a basic 20k service and front pads, dealer 240 plus vat for service 200 plus vat and fitting for pads. went to awd in perth, 140 for service 90 quid for pads, tenner for fitting and they pointed out some warranty work that needed doing. guess where im going back to
  3. i know awd can get them, thats where i got mine after an unfortunate brick/wheel meeting!
  4. few quick questions for those hopefully in the know 1, does revolution do sidc discount on everything 2a,is it worth heatwrapping a downpipe? 2b, or standard headers? 3,on an 05 sti is it worth removing the air intake resonator and how do you do it(had a look on snet but no joy) 4,will an 05 sti with ppp have any of the pipes in a samco turbo kit (4 pieces) sorry for the 20 questions but getting near d day and want everything right!
  5. john, have a look for ht autos on ebay and make them an offer of 100 quid, thats what ive just done and accepted no probs. tried 90 first but they said no
  6. had a revolution one on mine for a year which has split into 3 bits following an argument with an overly aggressive rabbit and a nasty car park entrance but had no probs with speed bumps and have prodrive springs. ordered an ht autos one now as their injection plastic as opposed to fibreglass so should be much more bump resistant and the front looks wrong without one
  7. aah,p1 ggm, that was you that dale marked for death! i was the guy who commented that mad serial killers usually have wild hair and scraggy beards... and im in total agreement, each to their own but to burden an ra with a n over the top badykit and 'kicking'sound system is criminal to me,minimum weight, maximum go.though i say that from a lardy newage! i do notice that most of the guys being critical on here i havent seen at meets or posting much- misunderstood newbies or loners who cant be bothered to join in,decide for yourself though it has to be said that its entirely understandable anyone being put off by dales appearance, but hes quite tame. honest.
  8. i was there today after 1, didnt notice anyone standing about on there own. it can seem cliquey but if you go up and say hello to someone and s\y its your first time they usually welcome you.try a meet and let people know your coming and that your new,as for grant and co. they had a lot of people there today and they were rushed off their feet when i saw them. put a few names to faces today though not til theyd left! rs grant didnt realise that was you talking to dale until you headed off- love the pops and bangs.
  9. doesnt a hawkeye uk sti have the twin scroll turbo? the difference between the two is the mouth of the downpipe as far as i know so the rest of the system should fit ok
  10. what are they like for quality and speed of service?
  11. more flatness sounds good as i lost a bit of that when i switched to the prodrive springs and goodyear tyres, though what i agined in compliance on b roads more than made up for it. so that sorts arb and drop links but is the alk worth doing on an 05 sti? i want to enhance the way the car feels just now as it has a slightly loose back end, just how i like it! and Dale, try a car with coilovers if you can and see,ive never been too fussed about them but the other halfs integras got full tein setup and its amazing-zero roll and still comfortable enough on b roads, they actually seem to be more compliant on broken surfaces the harder you go
  12. spooky, thats exactly the questions going through my mind dale! do i need to do both or would just the rear be ok to start with?
  13. very nice Al,you must be delighted with her. when you said you were getting a forester i didnt realise you meant one on steroids!
  14. dont worry welsho,if you drop your wallet with dale around itl never hit the ground, hes aberdonian yknow!

  16. it makes such a difference! ive been meaning to attempt this for ages but,you guessed it, im too chicken!
  17. thats shocking rich! why just servicing- theres plenty of goodies in there too! glad your happy Al,i know its a trek for you but i really reckon its worth it,certainly where mine will be going for all servicing and bits. i was hoping to pop through today and maybe bump into you but had to work instead, and did you manage to escape Grant without him persuading you to hand over a blank cheque?!!
  18. havent tried rocpool yet buut abstract is very nice indeed, be sure to check out the malts wall! for lunch in town try girvans just otside the thistle centre- amazing toffe meringues for afters!
  19. thanks, do you just ask the company thats sending it to mark it as that? its some fairly bulky stuff unfortunately so im pretty sure itl be noticed
  20. blue 05 sti- cant miss it,its the one with gold wheels! numbers L** DRS, not too sure if il be about but give me a wave if you see me. you all sorted for accomadation/eateries?
  21. no probs Marc, not too many of them about so youl be easy to spot!
  22. dam, dont think il be up for this and i was after the wheel sealant too. cant believe how quickly the polished lip on the integra wheels gets manky, and how much of a pain in the archie it is to clean all the spokes and studs!
  23. im thinking of ordering some bits and pieces from america and wondered 1) if anyone knows what sort of import tax il get hit with and any ways round it and 2) if anyone else was interested in getting stuff and maybe see if we could get it in a half container or similar to cut down on shipping costs which is the killer so far. at the moment im looking at getting stuff from gruppe s but any suggestions or interest is most welcome
  24. someone called? as Dale said, one in elgin, nairn and inverness- the one in inverness is at the raigmore interchange just past the hospital, not the easiest to find but as you head into inverness from the a96/a9 roundabout take the first exit at the next roundabout just after an esso and follow the road up. worth noting theres no 99 at tesco up with us either, swines!
