  1. welcome to the club, its a slippery but fun slope to finacial ruin!! il keep an eye out for you over the weekends
  2. nowt in my mail, but when i saw the name 'prolong super lubricants' i thought it was one of dales 'special' companies contacting him
  3. good pics mate, cmon the blobeyes and the invernessians il definitely be at the mcrae stages, wouldnt miss it!
  4. to get a proper deep burble on newages you really need to go full decat, but back box and or centre section will definitely be a big improvement. my advice is to keep one eye on the future if your buying in bits-theres every chance youl end up with a full decat, remap etc. so make sure the bits you get know join up with what your aiming for-i used to have mongoose exhaust on my classic but it was a slip joint rather than bolt together so you couldnt change just one part,ie cat for mot. i do happen to have a tsl firestorm backbox for sale but its maybe a bit loud? and im planning to jump on the vag chipping too,my a3 2.0 is crying out for more economy... been thinking about the superchip bluefin for easiness
  5. depends on what your using them for,in the dry grip is ridiculous and in the wet not as bad as youd think. my 05 sti came with them then i had eagles now t1r's and going back to eagles, amazing in the wet, nice and progressive in the dry
  6. well i think to get the benefit of most of the other mods id need to have a shot , so any time you want to meet up....
  7. yep, we were admiring the politically correct sentiment at the bottom nice shots john, but why so few of mine!! glad i left you on that motorway bridge now aah,so that was your wagon,i was the blue newage playing tag with you when we joined the 74
  8. possibly unit 8 in lancashire? official rays suppliers so may be able to get them from that end otherwise may be waiting at the end of the rainbow beside the pot of gold and the neverending free vpower pump
  9. that so you look your best for the wedding your getting dragged to?
  10. just in the door, exhausted ,elated and slightly deaf! unbelievable experience and couldnt have been more fitting tribute to the man. huge thanks to all who made it possible, especially imy, grant and andy incredible job guys but also to all of us there, cant think of many other car communitys that could pull this off on such a scale and with no trouble. should have some pics up later, including some unique ones from banbury that the other halfs brother took...
  11. so he finally gave in then Gav! saves me being tempted anyways-coming to a trackday soon?
  12. was underneath the car myself on gas duties. what sniffing it?!!!
  13. spooky! i was planning on toshes ra too,but decided abigger turbo etc is calling for mine first and i have the opposite problem,my other half came in the other night complaining that an astra gsi was keeping up with her and what could i do to make hers faster! so now two cars to mod, bankruptcy here i come!
  14. having tried various places i wouldnt go to anyone who doesnt specialise in these type of motors, had great results from hypertech, worth the trek. tho also heard good things about progrip round the corner. what make of coilovers you gone for?
  15. cheers jim, that sounds just right, mines tailing off just over 6000rpm and i like my revs! what made you go for the t ather than the h?
  16. current spec is 3" decat rcm exhaust(downpipe lagged), green panel filter, zero sports shiny intake bit, samco turbo hoses , ngk pfr 7b spark plugs, walbro 255 pump and of course remap from andy f proposed spec is new turbo(looking like a 321), aps cai, kakumei gt2 spec headers & up pipe, 650 injectors, silicon turbo intake pipe, apexi boost controller and.... anything else? and i know i nedd to sort brakes and suspension but i know what i want there,as long as the performance friction discs work from cold and dont shriek like a banshee!!
  17. hmm,how long does it hold boost for chris? and also drop me a line first if you are selling yours would you? thanks wuz,i knew there had to be an advantage to having an 05,theres so many suspension bits that just dont fit!! andy will be mapping it again but i want to have a pretty good idea before i speak to him as hes always so busy! any other recomendations to ensure trouble free rev happy turbo fun?
  18. well i promise il be there,so thats one i think youl have more worries about where to put everyone, just hope you get a chance to enjoy fully what an amazing feat you 3 have done
  19. thanks guys, sounds like a winners emerging...looks like time to get saving a bit harder! grant, thats exactly what im thinking,id rather be overspecd than running on the edge,i just dont have the time knowledge or funds to be fixing something everytime i take it out. would rather do it right once. so looks like a choice between 321T or H,whats the difference in revs for spool up? and will it make a difference going to 3" inlet hose?
  20. despite my promise to myself to save money ive started work on buying the next round of mods... ive got a pretty good idea of what im after but im not sure about what make of turbo to go for,i know the simple option is to go for a 20g from andy f but if theres other better options id rather spend a few hundred now than having to sell on the 20g and upgrading. im aiming for up around the 400 hp mark but more important is driveability, quick spool up and pulling all the way to the redline ideally. other things im not sure about are injectors, will 650 be big enough? and is it worth going to a 3" turbo air intake pipe? cars an 05 sti btw
  21. hi tommo, was talking to you at thr rr day last month-cracking car youve got, toby kept it well. hope this aint cheeky but i bought the whiteline anti roll bars and rear drop links from toby and have now found they dont fit my car due to the wider track, doh! wondered if youd be interested in them as theyve only been on your car so far!! cheers Dave
  22. not a massive amount of experience but been looking at a similar thing and it depends how new she wants and how much power. for the 40k bracket id go for a near new cayman or boxster with lots of goodies-36-38k should get a 2006 3.4s with toys from a garage or a bit less privately,2.7s a few grand less
  23. nope, welsho's correcting my schoolboy error! were all saying your pcd is 5x100 on the wrx
  24. sorry mate but afraid thats the case,05 sti's on are 114.5 all other imprezas including all wrx's are 100 hope the rims not too badly damaged!
  25. heard about this and was hoping it wasnt any of ours, my condolences to the family and to the cullen lads who knew him
