Road Trip Pics > 850 miles in the N W Highlands

Cracking pics. Looks like a lot of fun [] -
Waste of time and money. A laser detector is useless, as by the time the device warns you, they've already caught you. Bear in mind the Scamerati use their devices - which are proven to be flawed - well outwith the ACPO "guidelines" for their use. People have been caught at over 3000 feet which is well outwith ACPO Guidelines and well before you'll spot them with the naked eye, but because they word their document as "Guidelines" and not "Rules" and count on Joe Public being too scared by their intimidating letters they get away with it. Another £60 in their coffers for little effort and three shiny points on your licence. It's nothing, but yet another tax in the speed camera capital of the world. [8o|]

I'm not saying too much right now, but if you saw PHPBB then you did NOT see SIDC 2.0 - I can 100% guarantee you that! Not sure where that came from TBH, but PHPBB was not software I even evaluated. All will become apparent and trust me, you'll love it compared to what we have at present. My cock is on the block here (as we say!) and I wouldn't put it there if I didn't believe 100% in what I was doing. After the new solution is deployed I intend attending as many meets as I can fit in (which is something I've not done in the past) - both in Scotland and when my job takes me down south, to get personal feedback from people and get their ideas about the future of the site. My first planned appointment will be at a certain eating establishment in Paisley which might make me a "biased diner", but the grub is good and you can always count on an "Inverclyde-Renfrewshire-East Renfrewshire-North Ayrshire-East Ayrshire-West Dunbartonshire-East Dunbartonshire-North Lanarkshire-South Lanarkshire-Argyll+Bute and Glasgow City " type person to tell it like it is... [] From there I'll do Central, Fife and Edinburgh, but for some reason I've been hankering for the hame toon lately so fancy a nicht out in Aiberdeen if any of the loons are up fer it.

To even get that far someone must have given you the access name and password. Not your fault mate and in your position nosiness would have got the better of me too! [] I'm just concerned someone who we trusted with access to the test site has leaked details when all were told it was under STRICT non-disclosure.[]
-
Can't blame you for taking a peek if someone gave you the login details to the test site, but everyone who had access was under strict non-disclosure. If someone is leaking details then I ain't gonna be happy. [8o|]

Indeed they did. And the lord Phil of Essexdom arose and proclaimed in the Forum of Announcements "Let there be light! For no more can we live in the darkness. The disciple has cometh to deliver us from the evil of Community Server" and thus it was written. And the people rejoiced. "Indeed we shalt move forth from the darkness and thus, as we venture into the unknown we can, but hope the light that replaces the evil of Community Server cometh with an "Ignore User" feature. For that is our desire to riddeth us of the trolls" did they say. Shall it be thus?

Was it a cop or a Scamera Pratnership van? It's unusual for the Scameratti to operate outside their vans. Normally they just use the little hatches. As for being out of range, forget that one. By the time you've spotted them you're already done. However, if it was a cop then discretion and common sense comes into it and you might have got away with it. That's why we need more traffic cops and less of these fscking cash machines. Nothing you can do except wait 14 days and see if anything drops through the letterbox []

FWIW, I've been around for a few years now and although not a prolific poster I have read a lot. I've seen Glasgow/Strathclyde/Weegieland/Whateveryouwantocallit go through some rough patches, but I now see photos of big turnouts at meets and great reports with none of the fighting that was going on in the early days of my time here. What's in a name? It doesn't matter a toss as long as everybody's enjoying themselves - and it's more than apparent they are. Then again, I've eaten at Pete's so I guess that makes me biased [8-)]

You have one word too many... Dougster what is the problem here

I'm an Aberdonian myself, although no longer resident there. It was just a bit of friendly banter. There are loads of sheep jokes go about on here with the Aberdonians and if you stick around, sooner or later you'll be introduced to the highly-refined SIDC art of touching goats [] No offence was intended and apologies if any was caused.

Aye, and full of photaes of naked sheep in nae time. I dinne think so loon! []

Looks like the WRX is coming to the UK after all Clicky linky

That would be my question too. Okay for me it's slightly different and I'm out visiting new customers all the time. Having a postcode and directions is great - till you find out they have a PO Box No and you end up circling their local post office for 30 mins looking for clues! [:$] Joking apart, the TomTom with the speed camera database from pocketgpsworld is a lifesaver. £3 for a months subscription to the database and it's way more up to date than the TomTom one as it's run by the public for the public.

Get used to smiling. A lot []

When I first told my old man I was getting a Scoob he nagged me constantly about doing the IAM course. I looked into it and it seemed interesting. I probably would have done it if he'd kept on, but he had a stroke and lost his speech. The whole trauma of his stroke put it out of my mind and this is the first I've seen or thought about it again since. Might just do it as I know even though he can't tell me any more he'd still like me to do it, it would put his mind at rest if I did. I'm off Googling for my local group. Thanks for bringing this back into my mind []

Difficult to say yet. I only drove as far as Alloa and back and was driving like a complete fanny. Turbo seems to spool up faster and acceleration in 4th is certainly better. I've been in and out of the house looking at it all day (as you do!) and it's deffo getting a spoiler. After that I think a mesh kit and silver indicator bulbs will finish the front nicely. However first priority is a CCTV camera on it. That new and shiny I'm scared s***less some twat keys it.
-
I can't decide on spoiler or no spoiler. In a way it's a bit stealthy, but it doesn't seem like a Scoob without one. [:S] I believe my H&S backbox from my '04 will fit it. Is that right? It's far too quiet at present.

Sad because this went today [:'(] But happy because the man who took it away left me this in it's place []

Is that Phil's drinks cabinet? []

Car exploded at Glasgow airport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
andy replied to corsa's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I'm just back from Edinburgh Airport. I'm waiting at the carousel and.... "Bing Bong. Would any person who may have left a rucksack at the drop-off point please return and collect it". Chaos ensures. I mean under the current situation with cops everywhere and restrictions, who the **** would be stupid enough to leave a rucksack? Obviously it was harmless, but it caused chaos. Person responsible should be arrested and charged with being too stupid to breathe. -
Erm... you need some serious gloves to hold dry ice on a dent. It's a solid at -109°F or -78°C. Not a material to be dealt with lightly - even assuming you can get hold of some.
-
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Phil has said don't email the requested details to him, use the link and form instead. He's not said don't PM him with any queries about the request - in fact the page in question actually tells you to contact him if you have queries or concerns! 11,000 FORUM members does not equal 11,000 paid up members. How many have avatars? (as that's the only way we can judge who are members and who are not - for now
-
Now tell me something I don't already know [] The reason for asking for users to fill the form is when they do so it's imported directly into a database. If people PM Phil with the info he then has to key it in and the poor bloke has enough to do. At least that's my understanding. [:#]
-
Eh? No. It's nothing exciting. Just a request for members to fill out a little form to update their member info. I only use the members area for the high quality goat porn anyway []
-
You have to be a paid-up member to gain access. If you are, then PM Phil your username, membership number and postcode and he'll upgrade your forum account.[]
