  1. Lol, gotta love the Turra' rumour mill. I've seen that Fiesta about. Aye, i could make my excuses but i did get smoked a while back by the local Evo, no shame in that though imo. New engine was the best part of 2k.
  2. El fridgo is just about to crack 113k. Had a 36,000 mile (not km) MY99 WRX engine fitted at 98k as the bottom end went on the original one. There's nothing technical in fitting a PPP ECU or exhaust and both come up for sale regularly. Certainly cheaper that way than paying Subaru nigh on £2000.
  3. My cars Subaru book figure was 208bhp. PPP is a safe bet for 235-240bhp. De-cat that and you're up to 260bhp - this was the spec my car was proved to be running prior to Apexi/turbo etc 'upgrade'. What the PPP includes varies depending on MY and what the dealer keeps for himself. On my '98 is was just the Prodrive/STi ECU & Prodrive backbox. There may have been a panel filter aswell but i bought mine on 80,000 miles and there was an HKS panel in there when i got it. IIRC the MY99/00 PPP's came with a Prodrive centre section and silicone turbo-intercooler hose as well. There was other Prodrive upgrades like the PIAAs (i got them too ) and the 'handling pack'.
  4. Knowing (roughly) how old you are Ciaran i'd be a little more realistic and go for a UK. My 260bhp MY98 PPP might be worth 6k (if i'm lucky) without some of the bits on, keeps up with WRXs no worries and with the current 277bhp spec can give classic STi's cause for concern. Don't even have to worry about the fat (not 'PH' ) fuglys. On the other hand you could buy a shagged WRX for 4k or a really sh1te STi for the same. TBH, i've been looking at buying a new Scooby recently and haven't seen a single STi for 4k. I was in the same position as you two years ago when i bought mine and don't regret it. Remember, you pay insurance every year - you only pay for the car once.
  5. Do it yourself is my best advice, it really isn't hard. Copy of Dreamweaver and Photoshop/Fireworks and you're up and running. FTP to your ISP provided webspace, basic domain forwarding to hide the nasty URL and jobs a good 'un. I've done a couple but lack a little design flare... 6. Dave, sorry to leave you in the lurch. Colin, fancy some MY00 16's?
  7. Top for good kit. I've fitted the very same gear from Lateral and it comes with absolutely everything you need (and some vauluable spares!!).
  8. To be fair one of the parts guys (dunno who) is spot on. I ordered a bucket ful of odds and sods for my car a while back and they got every one of them right. They also gave me SIDC discount so not a terrible bunch from my experience. Unlike another dealer slightly further North who couldn't order the right frickin exhaust centre-bb gasket for a UK Turbo.
  9. << the demi-gods seeing themselves as the be all and end all of SN >> I almost read that as "seeing themselves as the bell ends of SNet". Over & out, fook going over old ground. Again.
  10. Sarah, Gavin Wallace in Bridge Of Don has a Dastek RR and gives discount for SIDC members. I'm going round this morning for my 'after' figure. My car did 259bhp on the Dastek RR in Aberdeen and 261 @ Star six months previously. The only difference was the addition of a backbox for the Dastek run and I suspect the car was also suffering from a little heatsoak. The rest of the results for the SIDC RR Day at Wallce Performance seemed to be spot on and showed the rollers as being calibrated very well indeed.
  11. I've been informed today that Andy can only do two cars in one day. So looks as thought the offer is closed, sorry.
  12. If it's the first weekend in November then i'm there. Otherwise i'm offshore.
  13. Richard, the date is pretty much set as being the 3rd November. I presume you are on call if you cannot confirm? I'd really need to let Andy know by midweek so as he knows what to expect whilst he's up here.
  14. It doesn't do anything for power as far as i know. More of a device for monitoring certain engine operating parameters and tweaking air and fuel variables on the Apexi ECU. I forgot to say it will only suit a MY98 Impreza Apexi Power FC ECU. Anyway, i think i've been convinced to keep it for the time being.
  15. On the 3rd November Andy is coming up to Aberdeenshire to do a little work on a couple of local cars (mine being one of two). I'd be interested to hear from anyone else in the area that fancies having Andy work his magic on their car whilst he's up North? As you all know he is renowned as one of the (if not thee) best mappers of the Apexi Power FC ECU (can supply these also) and i'm led to believe also has an ECUTek wand to wave. Travelling costs for the day are £200 split between however many people decide to use his services. If we can get one more body it actually works out cheaper for Andy to come to us than it does for us to drive to Edinburgh and back! Don't miss out on this opportunity guys.
  16. Just looked at my bank balance and it's frightened the life out of me - so it's time for another bedroom clear out. I bought the Power FC ECU and Commander together but didn't ever really want the Commander so now it's up for sale. £600 was the original asking price for both units (seller wouldn't split) so i'm asking... £175 + P+P I haven't the time to listen to daft offers so please don't waste your own time making them. Similarly, i don't want to hear how much Greenline sell them for. I can accept PayPal but please add 4.5% to cover their fees. NoChex/Cheque cash is all fine and i'm in Aberdeenshire. Carl
  17. Aaah bugger Russ... Had this been for sometime after 3rd November i'd have ripped your arm off! As it stands i'll be back for a re-run after then sometime.
  18. Marc, use the power of the HTML mate.
  19. Wasn't me, because my car isn't silver either.
