  1. Great pictures John. I hope you don't mind, i've borrowed a few for my website.
  2. After spending hours yesterday trying to get rid of the mud-bath at the far end of the track (you guys think the dust was bad, you should've seen it before) i was gutted not to be able to make it along today. I felt poorly when i got up yesterday morning and was nearly sick mid-way through trying to clear the mud/dust off the track. Didn't sleep a wink last night and the missus reckons i have the deadliest of flu viruses.... man flu! Disappointing as the car felt pretty good through the couple of cheeky laps JohnS let me have last night. Have to echo the thoughts regarding the construction works at the site. TBH knowing what we paid to hire the venue i don't think the people operating the museum will be too bothered about loosing the SIDC event and/or the Sprints. It's certainly going to be interesting from a logistics POV next weekend. Good to hear that the fastest car today was actually an Impreza, well done Mr Stevenson! Goes some way to making up for last years embarrasment lol.
  3. Hmmm, will need to check the brochure again.
  4. Nice car. The missus and I have a facelifted Dolphin Grey S3 on order, due in August. What option do you have to tick to get the black grill? We couldn't find anything in the options list that alluded to such a thing (although we knew it existed).
  5. I'm sorry to hear this news Scott. I think i met you and Rosie first at the Dastek RR Day, it must've been about the time when you first took up the post?! We met again at Alford last year and i have to echo Ians comments about you two being the best RO's i've ever met. Thanks for all the effort and hopefully we'll meet again.
  6. MH Engineering John? I think you've caught my drift with regards to having things done properly... I used Progrip in Bonnybridge over 4 years ago and was less than impressed although everyone seems to rave about them these days... Are Hypertech really that good? Falkirk is a fair bit of detour from Aberdeen-Edinburgh. Higgy, care to expand? Was your/the-experience-you've-heard-of specifically related to having the bumpsteer removed from your car?
  7. As above really, Falkland were the only people doing the bumpsteer mod in Scotland 4 or 5 years ago. I'm heading down to Edinburgh at the end of March so would like to stop in past and have this mod carried out along with 4-wheel alignment. I've searched but can't find posts from anyone who has used them recently?
  8. I did second in the wet (opposite lock was required ) last night.
  9. Yeah i know, didn't i say it was a work in progress.
  10. I served my appretinceship at the refinery in Grangemouth, but on the KG ethylene cracker rather than G4. From there i went on to Miller as an Operations Techncian. Now i'm a CRT on Bruce and enjoying (almost) every minute of it. Currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering degree with the OU. I also enjoy fiddling with websites and have just managed to make my personal site CSS standards compliant.
  11. ...and my car was done yesterday too, thankfully nothing fell off. Looking forward to a girly night out at Wallace Performance this evening for some comparison runs.
  12. Does anyone have a spare Defi pressure gauge (fuel or oil) that they don't want? (i'm looking at you Russell) After a long day today my car is in one piece, fuel pressure sender is fecked however. Still able to set up fuel pressure based on the local gauge but my fuel system is so bastardised i like to keep an eye on it from inside the car. There's no filter shield yet either but plans are afoot! Got to go get some fuel first though. Cursing my local Shell garage for changing franchise, now it's a 50 mile round trip instead of less than 1. How did everyone get on today? Happy?
  13. Food poisoning? I split my head open after speaking to Marc on Thursday, nice 1" gash right on top of my coupon... blood everywhere. I might not get to bed tonight yet. Will pop in past on my way back from Aberdeen this evening Russell, assuming i get it running of course. I take you managed to get 3 cars ready for today?
  14. Mine's getting there... slowly. AVC-R to finish installing, W/B analogue output to splice into ECU loom, RCMS filter to fit, filter shield to build, general faffing around putting TMIC back on and interior back together before hopefully getting a test-run into Aberdeen to fill up with V-Power. Early start tomorrow! It's grown a trunk!
  15. Yeah still on the Newage STi top-mount. Which turbo inlet pipe are you using? I've gone for a Newage one which has created a lot of work...
  16. Altens, you were heading towards the Shell building, i was going the opposite way.
  17. Aye i stuck a set of Harveys headers on a couple of months ago. I've got some Apexi 555cc injectors which i actually modified and fitted to the fuel rails this morning. I forgot to mention Duncan, i saw you on Wellington road last Wednesday. I was in my Pug collecting some bits from Subaru after jumping off the helicopter. The RA was looking very clean.
  18. Hopefully lol... Main hold-up now is getting my modified D/V return cross-pipe back from the powder coaters. Turbo is on, PAS reservoir relocated, A/C binned, injectors fitted and manifold mostly (awaiting modified cross-pipe) ready to be bolted back down. After that it's a case of re-plumbing the fuel system, re-jigging the IACV wiring, sorting the induction and fitting the Apexi PFC/AVC-R. It'll be ready, it'll just be a case of whether or not i get time to do everything i want to do.
  19. How's everyone getting on getting their cars ready? Here's how my bucket looked this morning.
  20. I'm up for before and after RR runs although i'd need the first run right at the start of the month before i take the car to pieces.
  21. I pondered this one a couple of years back and settled on the Version 4 Type RA for my needs. For me it was always going to be an STi RA model as i wanted the lightweight shell, the dilemma was which version. Knowing i would end up modding the car anyway i chose one that had the right bits that i wasn't planning on swapping straight away. Things like the nice cylinder heads (Version 3/4), DCCD (Version 3 (?) onwards), 2-pot rear brakes (Version 4 onwards), facelift front end (Version 3 onwards) and facelift dash (Version 4 onwards) and are why i chose my V4. I would've happily bought a Version 5 or 6 STi Type RA (especially in limited edition flavour) but there were none around at the time i was looking to buy. Next year you can import a 1998 V4 STi Type RA without the SVA hassle. All the more reason to buy one! You may even be lucky and find one that was specced with C/L, E/W and/or A/C (mine has the latter). I don't know if it's still available or not but Jamie Wood (H15OOB) had a lovely late STi Type RA for sale recently.
  22. If anyone gets tired of Russells whinging there's room in my garage. Just kidding. There's no room in my garage.
  23. Anytime from the 1st to 21st of November suits me guys and i'm a definate. The car isn't ready now but should be all but ready by the end of the month. It will just need the turbo and injectors fitting which is less than a days work. Let me know if you can fit me in as like i say, i'm a definite if you can.
  24. I am truly saddened to hear this, a great loss.
