About Marky-San

  1. Have an old classic I want to get resprayed, but no for ridiculous money. Willing to listen to any recommendations from someone who works in his own garage, someone who does homers, a small paint shop etc... I know you guys are pernickity with paint etc like I was, so i know you'll quote good folks.
  2. Thanks guys, yes sounds like the same guy. I have no vested interest to stop him doing what he does, however he needs to realise the mentality of the people in his estate. I've been through XR2, Lotus Carlton, Impreza... blah blah and I was hassled for a 2 yr period. Its not that I drove like a tit or anything in the estate, but people stereotype you so readily nowadays that I dont want to happen to this guy what I got. His car is a new age estate with big wheels, not seen the regi though (too fast LOL!). Sounds nice and he keeps it really clean, so I know hes not a boy racing knob end ragging the car to death without care. If you could pass it on to him I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Marky
  3. Mate, If your on this forum then i ask you politely to stop arsing up and down the estate as your bringing the wrong kind of attention (the red leon and a mate of yours in a purple corsa have been clocked). I've been fighting the local stiffs about not implementing traffic calming schemes (you know that big building you pass is a school dont you?) and in a month your getting people noised up. You probably dont realise it, but your ****ing up years of good work by myself and other performance cars users in the estate. Its an advisory 20 zone, legit 30, school road with plenty of young kids knocking about - your asking for it to happen. Whilst I love the sound and look of your car - have some appreciation that community members, police and council personnel live in here too - and believe me, you've been clocked as they've asked me if I know you. And I dont want to be associated with you. Just stay calm in the estate is all I ask. Either that, the powers that be will calm you.
  4. Thats the funniest Zidane thread I've seen - love the Italians and press ones. []
  5. I only met Ken the once at a meet and we chatted aways for ages about the cars on display - we even had a wee blat on the dual carriageway on the way home. He kept in touch now and again due to my work the Original STI register - he was genuinely interested. Truly nice guy and such sad news to hear. I wish all his family and friends the very best during this sad time. My thoughts are definitely with you all.
  6. If its one of the first sti wagons made in 94 - i.e. its a limited number (plaque found on suspension turret) then it is a TD05 (and a laggy mapped one at that). If it isnt i.e. not a limited version then buggered if I know LOL!!
  7. It was 93.9 in Bellshill only a few days ago - unleaded today was at 88.9 and usually its about 4-5 more optimax. So garages will just try it anyway[*-)]
  8. Bloody lovely mate! You always make your car look well fresh. Wheels, silver rim and black inners - hmmm.... so I must have made an impact all those years ago then?
  9. << I've driven like a !@$@£,seen others drive like a @£$! and bet you've driven like a @@£$! at some stage in ur life. Get over it.........enjoy ur crimbo.... >> Wouldnt be that if he rumped into you though would it? Theres a fine line that people tread when driving like this - and I bet the near misses are numerous, but every so often it goes wrong. Careful, not everyone drive like an arse just cause you admit to doing it. Personally Paul - I'd report him. Next time it might not be a near miss and someone loses. Merry Christmas.
  10. No longer a scooby owner, but respect where its due. Order 2 for the ATR and civic.
  11. Steady on with the 'nice cars' comments - the Impreza is an ugly bugger When I pass an Impreza my thoughts are rarely 'oh, wish I had one of them'. Sorry to burst the bubble. Impreza might spike some people to try it, but then again - irrelevant of what car a fud is driving they will try it with any car they think has pissed up the wall higher than them. Feck, my little civic seems to annoy all sorts purely cause its a wee 1.4 thats passing them?
  12. The package you want is Animation Shop from JASC - more commonly known and the makers of 'Paint Shop Pro'. Easy peasy to do.
  13. If its likely to be bore wash then it just as likely to be rebuild time. Had this twice with my old car (imported 94 STI). The petrol thins down the oil causing the temperature to rise really high, combined with the no protection for oil in your engine as its so thin... Nasty stuff. Unlucky mate if thats what it is.
  14. Excellent figures there mate. Must go like a train. Andy has come into his own with his results. I must also comment on the grand meister Coulty. He can handle an impreza better than anyone I've seen in a long long time (on a par with the controlled lunacy of UDIC Caz) and by christ he knows it. Anyway, back to my pipe and slippers you young scamps
  15. << He's amusing but dangerous IMHO. Cheers Simon >> Yeah, I agree with that. He could easily offend newbies so they dont come back (and most likely has done). However, he does write so good stuff.
