When you can hear the turbo spooling up as you exit the hairpin all the way from the pit wall then you know it's special. Wilky, good things come to those who wait. You've waited and you know it's good, but it's almost great if not outstanding. Once the bugs are ironed out and the car can handle it, then you get it mapped to even more bar then I have no doubt that you'll have a car that would put £200K machines well in their place.

Fantastic day once again. Thanks to John for organising and to everyone who turned up. As always a good standard of driving and some great cars on display. My tyres took a good melting, so I was qutie pleased. The car was spot on all day too. Couldn't get round McIntyres right all day, and I enjoy lining it up on the kerbs at the hairpin and lighting it up much more than taking it smoothly.

Bump for the stragglers just coming in. I know Peter's meeting me there too.

It's very hard to refer to one of you individually when you've both got the same name. Whatever happened to Apex'i having gone bust that was talked about earlier in the year or maybe last year? Hope you get it sorted sound though Mr Mac. The AVC-R is a nice bit of kit.

John! Was wondering where you'd got to. Missed a good run last night. Was a bit wet to really give it the full Glasgow treatment, but we tried our best.

I have an HKS SSQV, which I got off ebay from a seller in America. It was brand new and cost me about £165 including postage. Jimser also got one recently for about the same price. They all make different sounds too, so it might be a case of trying to find someone with one and having a listen. Tomorrow at Knockhill would be ideal as there might well be one or two subarus there [] Other good brands - Blitz, TurboXS, Turbosmart, Forge. I wouldn't swap my HKS one for anything.

There's lots of pros and cons regarding fitting VTA DVs, but I've had mine on for well over a year now without any issues, although I do change my oil halfway between services, if not more. I'm pretty sure from looking at a MY06 that the flange is the same as the other new ages, so any should fit. Perhaps someone can confirm that though. Best advice - don't skimp and buy a cheap one.
