Now THAT is very interesting Craig.
-
Admittedly mine is topped off with the Hayward and Scott Japslash box of considerable size. It was reasonably loud with just the backbox, so I can't really make a great judgement.
-
Lol. Ray does make exceedingly good wheels.

You have to go along way to have the worst copy and pasting mistake though. These include copying the first entry with just 1 name on it and pasting it to the end of a 20 odd page thread.
-
Got a price for them yet Neil?
-
If you do in the cat pipe and unresonate the centre it will give a nice growl I imagine. Not stupidly loud.
-
I do believe it is "work it" rather than "get it"
-
There we go gents. I've tidied up your shoddy copy and pasting.

Yup. Get him on and get his time up. The more the merrier as long as they're a member of the forums and have the proof.

Backbox!

BHP makes fast cars. Torque makes quick cars. Edit to say - that's not BHP as in Wuz, but the measurement itself. Although he has been known to make a decent car []

I can never find a copy near work or in the train station so will have to wait until this weekend to get my hands on a copy. Do people from Edinburgh not read good car mags? Everywhere is full of cross stitch monthly, what fruity hat, backpacker's own, pretentious student's weekly and jazz mags by the million.

Quickest round a track? Up a 1/4 mile? Through the M8 from Edinburgh to Glasgow at the dead of night with no traffic? 1/4 mile is Kevametal in his 03 WRX which was Andy F's old car. It's running circa 400/400. Craig Mac, Mr Orkney's ex-Gumball owned "the deathstar" and Peter (Fai17) are next in the official 1/4 mile listings. Although the deathstar hasn't run a 1/4 in its current trim AFAIK.

That looks like it took a fair hit Vicky. Cage looks like it did a good job though. Good to see you're doing alright.
-
Peter - whatever greers put in for you is the right stuff.
-
I'd like to know what clutch Kev is running for future reference. Especially if it's taking those launches.

Welcome to the club mate. It's a great place. Do you know what "chip" it's running? Most people on here would strongly advise against running piggy back chips and instead recommend replacement ECUs or remapping the existing one where possible. I think a 97 requires a replacement one such as the Apexi Power FC.

Stevie Walkers in Bathgate is very popular with some of the central members. Not got contact details though.

What held you back yesterday out of interest Craig? Not that .1 of a second is much of a loss over your last time when conditions were just about bang on. I suppose if the weather was anything like it was in the bits of the country I seen yesterday then the ground would have been pretty cold and moist and with the amount of oomph you're packing you'd be struggling for grip until you were a good way into the run.

Welcome to the club mate.

I've seen you drive John. You'd clear the tyre wall before you landed [] Bandit - Whoops a doodle? Uh oh! Spaghetti-Os

They were very nice indeed Peter. I couldn't believe how it wanted to stop with minimal pressure on the pedal and with no warming up. I had to adjust my heel and toeing so that I didn't put you and Terzo Neil through the windows. Should take a few seconds off your KH lap times. If we can get you to finish off an event that is []

Peter, it's Andy's old Project WRX from scoobymag.

Sprint day at Kames? I missed going on track back at the excellent Richard Burns day. It looked like great fun too. Would love to have a go round there. As mentioned - the MLR day at ingliston yesterday was good and we should definitely try and do this next year, possibly as a joint thing. Although maybe with a different layout.

Chris, the 4 pots have their limitations, but you can work within them. The standard discs are really only pushed beyond their limits with track work or very fast road use. They're not vetned, drilled, grooved, nothing, just solid, so their big problem is heat dissipation, which obviously spreads to the lines, and subsequently the fluid in them, and of course to the pads themselves. By fitting better hoses, filling them with better fluid, and by fitting better pads you can have a setup which works pretty well for average and fast road use, with a view to installing better discs when the standard ones wear out. I've managed to get 33K out of my standard front discs but I'm on my third set of pads. In that time I've done 5 trackdays. Some people will think that I've not been using my brakes, but I'm quite efficient on them, and I like to go round the corners faster [] So depending on what life you have left on the front discs you could possible get in another set of pads or 2 before they'll need replaced, saving yourself a bit of money in the process. If you want to really upgrade then the first option would be to move to the Godspeed kit. This retains the calipers, but spaces them out to fit thicker pads, and moves them further out from the centre to fit larger discs. This is supposed to be a very good kit and comes in about the £650 mark I think. That includes the pads and discs and all the gubbins required to do the work. Not braided lines though I think. Downsides - need to get the discs from godspeed in the future as they're made to measure AFAIK. Upsides - no need for larger wheels etc, and relatively cost effective. Next option - Brembos off an STI. Cost depends on if they're new or used and varies wildly. Upsides - direct fit, plenty of options in terms of discs and pads etc. Downsides - need to fit bigger wheels as the WRX ones wont clear them Option 3 - full replacement kit from AP or Wilwood etc. - COSTLY but GREAT! Personally, I think I'm going to stick with the stock setup but get better discs next time round. I know the godspeed kit would give brembos a decent run for their money, but ultimately I'd just want APs, so the cheapest option will suffice. MAYBE!
