  1. Isn't it amazing what a wee trip out to the shops can turn into? Enjoyable drive up the bypass. Must have hit fifty at one point [] Nice looking car. I think it was a P1, sounded pretty mean too. [y]
  2. Great stuff George. A few of us were wondering just what it was.
  3. Is it "standard"?
  4. It has the WRX300 metal badges underneath the indicators. The bugeye 300 was also WRX based but had black calipers. The red calipers are 05 onwards WRX spec, which the WRX300 is. It's a great looking car though cusco kid.
  5. That's definitely a WRX300 that review is about. Was the blobeye 300 not an STI?
  6. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru/subaru...k300-ar891.html - UK300 http://www.subaru-impreza.org/downloads/im...ch=%22WRX300%22 - WRX300 AKA as the WRX SWRT when bought as a parallel import from motorpoint etc.
  7. Call me stupid if I'm wrong, but is that not a WRX300? UK300 was this:
  8. Ahem - http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/1/770789/S...ost.aspx#770789
  9. I've got one as well and it really is excellent. Just tighten it up when you want to give it some beans and you'll find yourself not bracing round the corners.
  10. If it was a 400 special one he was either waiting on the HOOOOOJ turbo to spool up, or he couldn't drive. Or he was on his way to get it serviced because of the 20 mile service intervals.
  11. It's all going to be very interesting as there's some pretty insane classics already in Scotland. A bit of healthy and friendly competition is always welcome though. Chris, you can create new threads rather than keeping posting to this one you know. Looking forward to seeing the car when it's born either way though.
  12. "Wastegate Chatter" is actually the noise of the turbo blades "chopping" through the air in the turbo that hasn't escaped out through the dump valve. So it has nothing to do with the wastegate. The wastegate is on the exhuast side of your turbo rather than the intake side of it, so it doesn't replace the dump valve. Your car, and indeed I imagine all turbo cars have a wastegate already installed. The wastegate is opened when the turbo reaches target boost pressure and it diverts some of the exhuast gasses away from the turbo so as not to build up too much boost which could destroy the engine or the turbo itself. You cannot change the wastegate as it is housed within the turbo itself on Imprezas. You could move to a larger turbo with an external wastegate, but that's not required until you get over large amounts of horse power. Hope that helps.
  13. Welcome to the forums Andy. Watch the events section for forthcoming Edinburgh events.
  14. It's got to be the block if that's what's on the way out. But will the capacity remain the same, that is the question.
  15. You don't want to seem uninterested and just post "Welcome", and you don't want to not post as it's nice to be nice and welcome all the new members. It's easier with the ladies, because you don't have to feign interest. [] But seriously, welcome to the club. You're in a good spot with West Lothian as you're near the central and lothians meets, and even the Glasgow ones and there's always lots going on. Plus the forums are a very active community full of helpful people and plenty of entertainment.
  16. I've run out of ways to seay hello to new members.
  17. Welcome, welcome.
  18. Great price, and lovely wheels too. Car should look great with them.
  19. Two? Two point three? Two point five? Two point eight? THREE? Good luck with whatever it is higgy.
  20. Peter you can have half my box if you want cos I only want 1 or 2 bottles for the Trackday plus a couple spare for the next one.
  21. What was the new acquisition? Good to hear everyone had a nice time. I was stuck fixing PC problems for someone []
  22. Is it 10 a box Craig? A spirited lap of Knockhill should be enough to mix it in with the V-Power, and I'm only wanting it for safety not performance so the ECU re-learning isn't really an issues (but it's almost instant on a blobeye anyway AFAIK). I might as well take a full box if you've got room.
  23. And if all else fails - I'm sure something could be arranged involving bats and a large contingent of adrenaline fuelled subaru drivers.
  24. Benefits of a warranty. It'll be like having a new car again, so should be a good place to start some proper mods.
  25. I shall see what I can do and let you know if I'll be wanting the box.
