I'm afraid I'm not too familar with those newfangled newages but on a classic if you tried to run it with out the filter box you'd be opk, as long as you've not gone past the point the maf senses the airflow. You only need to turn it over for a min or two so there's not much risk of any debris getting sucked in. Worse case you just do a dry fit without doing up all the clamps etc.
Again, with a classic (mine), I did a maf and lamda and didn't throw a cel. Until I reset the ecu that is. I did n't bother buying one though I just got Andu to turn the lamda funtion off. My current down pipe doesn't even have a boss to fit one.
There's loads of guys on here that I'm sure would help you out with parts to figure it out, just ask. If any of my stuff firt you'd be welcome.
