  1. I bought mine from canskill, think it was £53 delivered but that's for a good ol' classic
  2. Yes, Stephan. Take the loose hub in with the new bearing. If you phone ahead they may even do it for you while you wait. Taking the hub off isn't the easiest job. There can be siezed nut/split pins etc. If in doubt get a garage to do it as once you start the car isn't going anywhere.
  3. Get it pressed and save yourself the grief. West of Scotland Engineering did mine last week, £20.
  4. Baillieston is defo open but a bit of a trek into civilization for you.
  5. Sure was. Buy a bike mate, you can't hear any scarey noises the engine makes. Ingorance is bliss
  6. My mistake, last week about 4 ish? Man these shifts do my head in.
  7. Just reread all of that, man my typing sucks
  8. I'm afraid I'm not too familar with those newfangled newages but on a classic if you tried to run it with out the filter box you'd be opk, as long as you've not gone past the point the maf senses the airflow. You only need to turn it over for a min or two so there's not much risk of any debris getting sucked in. Worse case you just do a dry fit without doing up all the clamps etc. Again, with a classic (mine), I did a maf and lamda and didn't throw a cel. Until I reset the ecu that is. I did n't bother buying one though I just got Andu to turn the lamda funtion off. My current down pipe doesn't even have a boss to fit one. There's loads of guys on here that I'm sure would help you out with parts to figure it out, just ask. If any of my stuff firt you'd be welcome. BTW, might have cut it a bit close to you the other morning whist queing on the clydeside expressway passing you in my gsrx. Didn't mean to wake you up.
  9. It may be the fuel pump/filter as you ran it low but did you really run it That far down i.e. way past the point you normally fill up? Before I started pulling the pump out I'd do a few more check under the bonnet. The maf was an excellent place to start, did it make any difference at all. If it did you may have a blown lamda as well. When the maf goes the resultant missfuelling has a habit of doing the lamda in too. They're a few quid though so try and borrow one bore you shell out. The coil pack suggestion is also an excellent one as the lumpy idle but running smoother higher in the rev range (not on boost though) is an excellent description of the sympton. A very quick ceck is to disconnect your coils one at a time and see if it makes the idle worse or remains the same. If it stays the same you know you've found the problem. Again, get a loan of one for a couple of hours and go round and swap out your old ones one at a time for a more reliable test.
  10. Dave, my 3" H&S d/pipe went onto my 2.5" centre section ok. As long as it is flanged it should be fine. Don't know if newage/classic are interchangable though.
  11. Yup 0.7
  12. Very nice Stuart. Now only if your mind was as clean.
  13. Have you been in recently Grant? I was there a couple of weeks ago to get some gear oil and they said they do not stock a full range any more. He let me see what was in the back and if you didm't want a 210 ltr drun there was hardly anything to pick from. When I asked about ordering some in he said they didn't do that anymore and I'd have to buy from one of their stockists, not them I'd phone before going through.
  14. Well I'm afraid I can't say anything as I've done it to. It was a crail but not exactly in a designated area. I take it all the guys who've done similar in a snow covered car park are not going to have a pop at the guy are they?
  15. Yes but the force is strong with this one. Good news mate
  16. No problem Gary. Glad my ramblings helped..
  17. Any links to the show pics?
  18. In that case why upgrade to a tm when you'll most probably go fm eventually? Do it now and save $$$'s in the long run. If you look at the price difference you may be surprised as to how close the two options are.
  19. Eh.......ok? So how much power are you saying? Forget about tm vs fm for a moment. If you are wanting to get 400+ at any point during your ownership of the car I personally would buy a fmic. They've never been so cheap and will be less/same hassle to fit as a newage sti tmic. If you only want 320 ~ 350 tm all the way.
  20. How much power are you hoping to run through it?
  21. Where do you see yourself on this list.... What's a mod??? 1 - 2 - 3 - Not done any and never will 1 - 2 - 3 - Done a couple but more in the pipeline 1 - 2 - 3 - Going mod crazy at the mo, I can't help myself and the wife is going to kill me 1 - 2 - 3 - I'm nearly finished, only tweaks from this point on 1 - Playsatan2 2 - 3 - All done, this is just how I want it 1 - 2 - 3 - Please note that you will not be held to your choice and you can move if things change.
  22. Wait a minute......... I've been tampered with. And not in a good way. Would the guilty mod pleae own up before things get nasty
  23. No problem Frank. Yeah I noticed my inbox was showing as full too. I gues thats one of the "features" of the new board. I'll have to get busy deleting all the old one out. Until I've done it just start a new thread saying I touch goats if you need to contact me
  24. Pics?
  25. It was really cheap John but bargain of the year title is reserved for the gearbox. So far anyway.
