About mrbadger

  1. Hows it going Peter sub 11 seconds eh? V nice. Imy you've been so busy with making an honest man of Grant... Congratulations to you both! Robert, believe me, I don't want to sell. If I do sell, then I will be heartbroken until I am reunited with the flat4 burble again. I think its something I will always have with me, the first time I pushed the pedal down on the way back from AndyF's treatment and making a little wet mark in my trousers. Memories....
  2. Hi all, I've been off the scene for a while, due to life and all it throws up... Glad to see a few names I recognise still. I hope you are all doing well. Looks like I will be selling my scoob either as parts or complete. It's a sad day when you realise you've got to let go of something you love. I'll post soon once I decide what I'm going to do with it (in the correct section of course). Petrol is still in my blood, but it will have to wait till later...
  3. Cheers all. Sorry haven't been on here for ages - family stuff & work. Also lack of money and I know I am always tempted to buy stuff when I see what you have all done to your cars! Update, police still have my car for forensics. I don't know exactly what is missing or damaged other than the dashboard area, ignition and a load of wiring. I contacted Keith Michaels Insurance first thing this morning and they have been fantastic so far. The only thing is their policy is with Highway who were meant to phone me and take the details. They phoned me back this evening to say they are phoning me tommorrow afternoon! Is this process normally this slow and drawn out? Duncan
  4. Cheers everyone. I really haven't a clue how they managed to get into it without the alarm going off. I was still up working and about to go and put the car in the garage for the night. I didn't notice my security light come on or hear any noise. First thing I knew was the loud rumble. Dash board is a mass of wires and smashed to pieces steering lock. The Cliff cat1 alarm was fitted by the previous owner about 7 years ago. Time for an upgrade and replacement alarm system/security I thinks. Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs area. Neighbours saw a suspicious small silver car with 2 guys hanging around earlier on. Was found in Robroyston in a culdesac near the big Asda. Not sure whether to put it through insurance? Duncan
  5. Cheers mate. Car was recovered after about 35 minutes! Traffic and the police were fantastic - thanks guys. Haven't a clue how they got around the Cat1 alarm and imob? Police reckon they might have had a scanner. Watch out everyone in the Glasgow area. It's a horrible feeling when you know your car has been lifted from under your nose. Car has been taken in for forensics and I will have to wait and see if there is any obvious damage later. I couldn't see in the dark other than the obvious damage to the dash area. Cheers Duncan
  6. Some idiot has just managed to steal my car in the Glasgow area. Keep your eyes out for it guys is a Red Turbo wagon and a big exhaust. The police are looking out for it as it was stolen at 1am this morning. I was up and heard the car start as they drove away with no lights on. Duncan
  7. Welsho - you go crazy on the track? Never..... I'm actually looking for some shingle/pebbles for my drive - someone was saying you had a load in your car after Knockhill? I forgot what my car was like to drive! It's a monster - I dunno how people with 400bhp+ cope. It's all worth it in the end. Thanks to Duncan & everyone at Hypertech they did a great job! Fuel pump is a lot quieter than the previous one, they have replaced most of the vacuum hoses. Replaced clutch hydraulic cylinder and pipework, lubricated the actuator (what ever that is!) and fixed a slight oil leak from a loose inspection cover. There doesn't seem to be any issues with overboost so far. It's only boosting to 1.2 at the moment, (normally it would be up to 1.3). I think they didn't realise I had set it to the original map (0.7) and saw some issues with incorrect fueling. I set it to the correct map and she seems fine. I'm taking it fairly easy so far, while the clutch beds in. Thanks again Hypertech, and I'm sorry for being so impatient while the parts were on order!
  8. Welsho, Good to catch up soon. I know youv'e had your fair share too. Just frustrating - no car for a month and a half and a months wages up the swanny as well! How many numbers is the JW now - more than 350? Mystery Machine - Nice to meet you. This is the first time it has been off the road in nearly 3 years so i'm having withdrawal symptoms. Please excuse my general grumpy attitude. FA17 - Peter I think I'm in a bad state, you must be climbing the walls! I can honestly say most rapid cars will be whipped by Bamboo! Looking forward to launch day! Hope you and family doing fine! The car is finished. Now skint Apparantly there is possibly a problem with the actuator and it is geting overboost on hard acceleration. I need to bed the new clutch in nicely before I get back to them about the overboost. If I get any overboost I'll be stopping driving and will get the car towed.
  9. Theres two of them now! Thats what I call stress!
  10. Noooooooooooooo I never managed to sample it's delights, but I saw plenty of wet stained trousers of passengers coming out. Sad day, sorry to see the pictures mate....
  11. Thought I'd just poke my head in and say hello. Haven't had time to jump into the forums for ages due to family stuff. Hope everything and everyone is doing fine. I've been sort-of keeping in touch with GMac and Peter a bit so I'm not totally out of touch! My car has been off the road since Christmas First a slipping clutch in 4th & 5th under load a week or so before Christmas, then between Christmas and new year my Bosch fuel pump (1yr old) got noisy (like a demented wasp), and was working no problem until I gave it some beans coming away from a junction near my work and it got a vicious fuel cut. I gently drove home off boost and when the garage opened after new year I took it in. The slipping clutch is an Exeedy Green Organic fitted a few months before - so i am told this may be down to the clutch cylinder. Due to parts delays and all sorts of issues I am still without a car - but hopefully tommorrow!!!! The fuel pump and the clutch cylinder have been replaced at the garage, but the clutch is still slipping, so the clutch is being stripped this evening. It may be that it wont be covered under warranty if it is down to the wear & tear & slipping. My car is a daily driver to work and back and I don't go mad (well - you can't on the Kingston Bridge at rush hour). It's done about 1500-2000 miles on the Exeedy Green Organic, no 1/4 miles, no track days just the daily commute. I think this is going to cost a bomb. Why is it when you think you do everything by-the-book and upgrade the parts that are known to be weak points - those bits go wrong! I'm a bit down at the moment and frustrated with it all.
  12. A Scooby owner that is sensible - NAH!!!!
  13. Appreciate the advice so far. It's all good My mate is just about foaming at the mouth - he's that excited!
  14. What are the differences on the STi wagon rear lights meant to look like? I can't quite work it out.
