Good Summary of the event.... But sooo clearly you coudl make a full hour show just for the event! So.. is there a record for the largest traffic jam for a single manufacturer?

Watching now.. and recording

COol! I didn't know that! Maybe there's a DIY fix as £70 is a bit steep Every post on this thread is from a red mica owner... Quality! We'll have to start our own club at this rate
-
That's how I felt about mine... But they are on now.. Sure they may creek but they are doing the job so their staying on till they break/fail.... Lesson leant... Got whitelines on the rear and they are spot on!
-
100%! That's after me going through the hassles.... Also the front of the car doesn't feel right since fitting them... It's stiffer but I think it coudl have made it too stiff for our "technical scottish" roads.... Just my thoughts from experience... I'll be getting OEM ones next time..
-
Here's a pic of the KLC32's Thing is due to the design.. Both the Bearing and Polyboosh versions will wear out.. But With the added pressure/twist on the whiteline ones, they are more likely to wear out quicker.. Whereas the bearing ones "should" last longer if they are kept sealed and don't get dirt caught in them..

These front drop links are more hassle than they are worth TBH... Not for fitting but because of the dodgy advice going around.. When I researched it a few months ago I got completely confussed.. But here's the facts: Whiteline KLC30 = Used with WRX Steel wishbones to replace "plastic" drop links Whiteline KLC32 = Used with WRX alloy wishbones and STi's to replace the "ball joint" drop links Due to the confusion and the shortage of whiteline parts in teh UK at the time I opted for Perrin drop links which have a fancy bearing on them isntead of a ball joint.. But... I think Scooby-Girl had problems with the perrin ones not longer after fitting them and I get a creaking noise form the from of the car since fitting them.. to be honest if I was going to replace them again in the future I'd just buy the steel OEM ones.. Hugely cheaper and they are still made of strong stuff (not plastic).. So the difference between OEM and these "perfomance" ones is probably none.. Unless you replace the ARB's as well. YOur not the only one with the wrong type of drop links.. I have seen loads of cars now both in the real world and online uing the KLC30's on the wrong type of car after being reccomended them.... They still work.. But they don't line up properly and hte bushes will burst prematurely due to the excess pressure on them...

Yep should be a straight swap between Bugs, Blobs and Hawks for the backbox! Classics have a slightly different hanger arrangement but these can also be fitted to newages if you bend one of the brackets round 180 degrees..

Right, seeing as us lot are here, head over to this thread in the general forum and put your name on the list Red Mica Roll Call: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=121321

First off.. WELCOME to the site! Sadly, that's normal... And' most of us have been there... It's to do with the alarm system being nuked when your are near radio transmitters.. In the case of Elgin, Near the main entrance is a no go, I tend to park roudn the side where it's better.. Also the Car park next to TK-Max is a sod as it's so near the police transmitters.. Same problem.. Grrr! Some parts of the main carpark at the public hall is also dodgy.. Holding the keyfob nest to the drivers front wing or near the center of the dash can help but doesn't always work.. Only alternatives are as you've found, roll the car a couple of car lengths to get to a "open spot" in the radio wave, or use the pin code.. If you don't know your pin code you can re-set it if you have a working keyfob... I know it doesn't help the problem, but I've been there a few times before... Damn annoying.. P.s. Great choice of car and colour! I can barely remember when mine looked like that but do remember saying I wasn't going to mod it

Well. Neil did say at first he "knew the guy who designed it" rather than saying he was the person who came up with the design.. BIG difference.. Not everyone knows Neil's influence with this so if you weren't to know then the comment is sound.. The stickers / T-Shirts were available for plenty of time and if you missed out tough!... But yeah Neil definitely deserves to have the final product....
-
My god that guy can drive!! BTW - I think this was a show that was not broadcast on STV we got some galic news program instead Grrr!! Good find!

I heard 1102 Hmmm.. I'm sure we'll get hte true figure in the next day or so.. Loved the pics.. Especially the one of Jimmy McRae.. That's a classic shot right there! Well done! Yeah the support from nearly every flyover down teh route was amazing.. Thought maybe one or two from up north but not all the way through. banners/flags and anything SUbaru /McRae related beign dangled over hte edge! Great support!!
-
Currently sitting just of the M6 at Carlise and hearing scoobies burble past every 5 minutes is just great!! Great weekend! Huge thanks to Imy, Grant, Andy an all the guys a prodrive, the McRae family for supporting the event anyone else who was involved! A great shame we never got to do the final convoy but what to see all those imprezas lines up on the track was just.... Well I don't think tehre's words for it.. Superb doesn't do it justice! I'll try get soem piccies from my phone and post them up (seeing as my cameras memory card doesn't want to be read in the laptop at the mo ) Have a safe journey everyone!

Nice one! Both of ya! Wonder where the inspiration came from ....
-
YOur probably safe enough... although I havent tried removign any of them yet, they are made of the soft flexible stuff and if you try remove them in a rush (i.e. steal) then your likely to stretch and distort the sticker so it'll look shoddy on the car.. Wouldn't reccomend it TBH.. Besides, anyone trying to steal them will get lynched by 1,300 scoobies chasing there ass!
-
me Likey!
-
I like it! it's a Shame to loose the big swooshes but it's more subtle and looks great on the silver! IMHO
-
Mine was a pro-cut 700 and cost me £425 3 years ago. RRP at the time was £600 that coudl be cool! What about just having Scooby running across the bottom of the doors. (heading to the front) ?
-
My word!! these things havent half dropped in price since I bought mine: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170254477170 As for the Scooby graphics! Certainly different! Could do it just to be quirky. But.. Just think about if/when it comes to remove it.. It'll take ages with all those little lines everywhere!
-
It's on the plate under the bonnet.. Should be clearly marked as two numbers and a letter.. I.e mine is "94H"
-
Odd... COupel of times I've been over at GT tyres, the guys been really good.. I think really, hypertech is probably best bet.. Fair trek but not sure I'd trust any of the local places to do a quality job...
-
They make it up in store, just remember your paint code! Takes about 10 mins or so.. Can't remember the price... Soem of the smaller stores dont have the facilities, but most do..
-
Agreed.. if your really desperate get a spray tin or normal tin made up at halfords (used their paint for my splitter, side skirts, rear wing and bonnet scoop!) and use a fine brush to fill the chips/scratches. If usign the spray, spray some into a tin and dab a small brush or toothpick into it.. Best option for short notice.. But ultimately I'd reccomend DrColourChip from the US: http://drcolorchip.com/ http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=114978 http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=118411

Bought one of those waterproof ponchos' this morning just incase Also add English bank notes to your list... Not being funny but I've found in the past that a lot of places south of the border don't accept Scottish notes...
