  1. Yep.. Just sent mine off to get renewed yesteryday.. But I'lm peed off at havign to pay £17.50 to get it done!!!! If they want me to update the photo it's up to them to cover hte cost.. NOT me! Fair enough for a lost or damages licence.. But £17.50 + postage (to send my licences to them)! No way does it cost that much in admin fees to print off new cars and docs!!!! Bloody GOvernment is at it again!! Screw the motorist! theill never give up their cars! (Sadly that's true....)
  2. Whoops!!! I did suggest to him at one point that he take the rest of the year off!
  3. Mine doesn't Otherwise I probably would.....
  4. Well yeah it would be... just, but it needs to be cheap to start off with.. Less than 1.5L for cheaper road tax (pre 2001) and be cheap to insure.. But starting a second insurance policy woudl be good long term to build up another set of NCB for the future Need to work it out again properly, but did sit down and work it out a while back and it woudl save me money after short while... There's also the peace of mind that if I hit any deer with it.. It's not so devistating... Also saves on cost of tyres.. And suspension... The road down to my work is a bumpy farm road, which isn't really great for runnign the Impreza up and down every day as is only going to wear out the dampers and god knows what else... Guy at work has a Leon and I'ts a nice car! But as you say not really cheap enough at the mo... There's also a Ford Ka! But then the deers might win that one....
  5. Kinda.... It's actualyl my dad's.. And it's sh17e! No really.. it's bloody scary thing to drive.. Brakes vibrate, steering wheel is only a vague idea of which direction the car will drift to, and the chassis wobbles like mad! Sure it's a working backup car but.. err.. no... Kinda got the offer of a 306 though... I would but... the cluth slips, engine is well down on power of what it should be and the paint doesn't match on all the panels.... I know I'm too fussy but woudl like a car I can practice the detailing on as well THe track thing was just a silly thought I had earlier if I got another impreza... Just want something cheap to buy (Sub £1000 ideally) and run (insurance/tax/fuel) with reasonably decent handling... Was thinking a Focus for a while but turns out they weren't as cheap as I thought to run.. 106 pretty much fits the bill, but not many of them around by the looks of things... Not that I'm desperately seeking one.. Just keeping a eye out... JamesM's car above looks spot on, would prefer the dk blue colour but can't be too choosy I wanted a black or silver classic and look what happened there Open to other suggestions though.. maybe somthign I've missed...
  6. That's what I'd like to know! BTW - YOu've got a gift for finding great shots for cars! We'll have to get some group shots organised at somepoint! (Just not the multi-story car park... Not sure my splitter will make it )
  7. How shiny is that car!!!! YOur bro, better look after it (unlike mine who never seems to wash his)! So glad it's staying in the neighbourhood!
  8. The table came from the Document that was published at the Budget so is 100% accurate... Also the 242g/km is what it says for my WRX (Bugeye).. Admitedly other cars may vary but it was useful as a guide... DAmn annoying as at the last MOT the emissions test came back with 0.00% particles!! It's clean for the environment!!! Grrrr!!!
  9. Hate to say it but that sounds about right... The Taxations are from the UK registration date... not hte car date sadly... But then All us newages will be in the same boat next year £415 (from 210) At least all you blobs and hawks had a £300 stepping stone last year!!! And just incase there's some newbies on the go that don't know what were on about here my scribbles:
  10. Ok daft question.. How do the running costs compare of a Classic sport to say a newage WRX? Have been considering getting a 2nd car as a run around into work every day as the WRX is hating it.. gets really bogged down and I can feel the performance drop due to the short poxy runs.. Also wouldn't mind keeping some of the miles off it.. Kinda settled for a Pug106 if I can get one cheap.. But this morning I had a daft idea of maybe gettting a classic sport (Possibly the Special Edition yellow one ) that I could hammer around in and out of work and up forest tracks without having the same worry about breaking splitters / brakes and stuff, use it more as a toy for the likes of Alford or whatever, if it's off the road for any reason not a problem as I still have the WRX... I really need to look after the newage after the whoopsies this year Basically Wondering about insurance and general fuel costs.. compared to the WRX and see if it's worth it.. Also would be cool to own two scoobs
  11. Same ere! I would put the mini one on isntead but with the tinted windows no-one will see it
  12. Stunning! Nice and sharp in the silver! Those guys really know what they are doing! I'd be afraid to drive the damn thing!
  13. Brillint video clip! Loved that.. I was down a the "C" at the time havign a blether with David Lapworth so missed the auction (sowwy!) So glad this was posted
  14. Nice one! BTW - Unsurprisingly the DivX and WMV versions I posted up earlier are no longer available... exceeded bandwith on that webspace.. Surprise surprise The YouTube one is still there though! If anyone is keen to have the higher quality DivX version again, send me a goat (Download restrictions will apply.. Sorry.)
  15. My thoughts exactly..... They weren't involved with the whole event and as a result shouldn't be given the sticker.. IMHO...If that was the case why bother turning up on the day at all if you can just plead for the sticker laster on....
  16. I've uploaded a 45Mb DivX of it (Decent quality) to: http://www.scouk.plus.com/FifthGear_McRaeGathering.avi I can make the origonal MPEG2 video or a DVD ISO image available via FTP later if you want as well...
  17. YouTube Video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7LATNz71h5k After all that I think the wmv link I posted earlier is probably better quality...... But the Youtube one will be more reliable..
  18. Grrr! YouTube taking too long to "Process" the video after uploading.. So here's a lower quality version in wmv format: http://www.scouk.plus.com/FifthGear_McRaeGathering.wmv BTW - If you want a higher quality version (DiVX6) lemme know.. Also have the origonal MPEG2 stream if anyone wants it (special download arrangements will need to be made for that one)
  19. CHEAT!!!!
  20. WTF!!! I only got £6.50 in vouchers
  21. Lookin good mate!! Both cars looking ace! Surprised you haven't shifted the classic yet! If I could afford to run a 2nd scoob I'd have it in a shot!
  22. Just watched it again.. And it sunk in this time... Stunning! And well done once again to everyone involved... Even the lost ones P.s. Currently uploading to Youtube
  23. Absolutely! Don't tell me that was a freebie ride! Can't beleive I was there the whole time and never saw her!!! Bumped into David Lapworth a few times though... Yep.. I'll stick it in youtube.. But don't be surprised if it get's pulled early....
