  1. Sorry to hear that mate! It's never possible to please everyone everytime (Ohh that almost sounds kinky!) In my view, you are a great ambassador to the Scottish Scoobies! And would be a shame so see you stand down from the R/O position...
  2. Speaking of which here's some of mine! http://www.scouk.net/gallery/sidc_alford_2008/ More available here: http://www.scouk.net/gallery/sidc_alford_2008/
  3. True... But timewise it was about 1/2 way for me.. Not set in stone so I'll keep an eye on thsi thread and see if somethign better comes up.. There's a nice camp site just outside Kendal I've been to the past few years... If the weather is Fine lol!
  4. I've booked into to a Premier Inn up near carlisle for the sunday night.. Can't remember the exact one but I can find out later.. If the weather is decent I may camp isntead
  5. Spooky!! FYI - http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?act=mod...;module=gallery
  6. Really!! Yeehaaa!!!!
  7. BBC Scotland News Report - clicky
  8. My God! never picked up that it was him involved, heard the name but it didn't quite click.. R.I.P. Mark My thoughts go out to all the friends, family and all who knew him.... It really has been a terrible week for Road accidents in the area. Seems almost fitting that this weekend there is a Road Safety Event being held for young drivers (up to 25y/o) at Boyndie Aerodrome if anyone is interested in going along. P.M. Me if you are interested in further details of the Road Safety Event..
  9. Looking at the video over and over again I reckon I probably lost abotu 10 seconds in all.. About 5 or so lost with going off line and getting the speed back then probably another 5 or so seconds on the final lap where I took it a bit easier roudn the lap just incase 2nd oval was 5 seconds slower than the 1st one and that was from a standing start... Never mind.. Was good fun.. Euan got his own back by showing his clever use of the handbrake to get the round corners! Worked really well!! Think I'll stick to left foot braking though, once I learn to break early enough...
  10. And the award for slowest impreza of that day goes to!!! Got a copy of a mobile phone video yesterday from someone who recorded my session..
  11. It's aworkshop for the Museum.. So it's goting be be a HUGE permanent building which is slap bang int eh middle of the presentation area! I can't see how they plan to keep hosting events with that there to be honest...
  12. Oh FFS!! Euan not looking too happy there... wonder why..... Stunning shots! Really sharp! Any chance you can send me full res versions of those? If I use them on a website anywhere at any time I'll be sure to give you credit for the photos!
  13. Yeah was a good day given the circumstances.. That new building it's goign to completely destroy that place! Not just as a SIDC event but I think the sprint championship guys are in for a shock when they are there next weekend...!! Nice to see a few new faces I've not seen before... Sorry for not being able to "mingle" too much with my local Moray guys.. A R/O, just felt the need to help out with the marshalling this year... AciD, remember to send me your address and sticker requirements and I'll get them in the post for ya! The turnout was a shame.. Plenty cars on track but as mentioned above for a SIDC event we really should of had more there.. Never mind.. This year was fairly last minute for organising them the punch in teh face when we opened the gates yesterday to find a building site! Thankfully all wen't well.. I don't want to start a feud or anythign but whatever the cost is for access to that place they will need to drop it in teh future IMHO for lack of space.. having the cars split up so much at other ends of the track isn't great.. But that's just my view.. The best job was done with what we had to work with.. Yeah the little excursion onto the grass obviously wasn't planned.. I really gotta stop taking part in these event where there are moving cars... Keep breaking mine... Fortuantely only a wee scrape on the splitter at the off side.. Nothing more... LOoking back I should have rolled my car into the show n' shine area for a laugh.. Wouldn't have expected anything but should of put it through just to build up scooby numbers... Never mind...
  14. Yep absolutely daily driver! Not the cheapest way to travel but one of the most fun!
  15. Been a busy week, but Finally got some piccies together... *drool* Scream if you wanna go faster! Rich Checking out a new set of wheels already People are right.. Thes do look WAY better in teh flesh... Like it in white! Doesn't make the back end look so bad + a couple more
  16. I'm all for it too! One reason young dude's try and race away from the cops is becuase they are driving diesel panda cars. With a SCooby/Evo up your bump with the lights and noisy things They are more likely just to pull over. And thos that try and get away probably won't unless they start pulling off really silly manouvres in which case they are seriously risking their lives and the lives of others.. I my view, this is the sort of cars all traffic forces shoudl have! Not the fancy RWD BMW's / volvos they have in some places.. How to get away! Easy do it on a wet day!!! With a scooby, everyday is a good day..
  17. LOL! aye me too.. That's what I was mostly worried about on the day.. then the unexpected happened..
  18. Nah.. Just glad to get the car back in one piece.. Although I dare say I'd get a good service if I ever go back there for anything No excessive damage by the looks of things. He's replaced 3 of the lower control arms at the rear end.. But everything else looks good, can't see any evidence of any twists bends or any abnormal loads begin applied anywhere.. So thumbs up for service! Genuine error on their part. Certainly a one off, and car repaired very quickly at japerformances expense.. Fortunately a good outcome.. Could have been MUCH worse...
  19. just got the call.. Car's repaired! Couple bars replaced on both sides of the car so sounds like it was checked over properly.. But I'll have a good look over when I get it back! And try get it booked in for a lazer alignment check..
  20. I won't admit to knowing everything about fuels but... From my understanding it could loose quite a bit... I know with tests there have been a fair difference on standard "performance" cars between super and V-Power etc. 10-15bhp The 95 ron is probably safe enough but at higher RPM 5000+ when you need more stable fuel that doesn't explode at unexpected times, the higher octane can make a fair difference, particularly on STi's where you have a much higher revving engine.! The higher the rpm the more control is required and if the fuel is not up to the job the car will retard the timing to keep it all safe, meaning your peak power "may" infact occur earlier in the rev range and certainly not give the peak potential which the car coudl achieve of the more expensive fuels. In saying that I would have expected the result to be higher than it was.. However the car clearly has no shortage of power in the mid range.. Saw that thing on the way home and it' really shifts!!! I would be intested to see it run in and mapped with 99ron fuels just to see the difference, but without any good fuels around your area, you've taken the "sensible option"!
  21. STi , definately! Unless you are planning a front mount It's considered the most efficient, Notibly better quality than the eBay ones which have big claims bit heard a few reports of leaks. Also the STi one looks better IMHO.. Just a bit pricey though, even 2nd hand... I was lucky getting one with Y-Pipe for around £100 off ebay a few weeks back..
  22. yeehaaa!! Yeah me too... Helps acceleration!, Keep the revs low on mine too to it's perfect for my driving style
  23. As opposed to off to the side Damn Good results though! the 2.5l is a seriously torquey engine! Intercooler should make a wee difference.. Any idea how much boost you were getting? Bigger Intercooler woudl help keep higher boost levels safe.. Definately reccomend it if going for a bigger turbine!
  24. My Torque was coming in at 252lb-ft which is a bit low to be honest.. But it looks as though that was due to the turbo not produing as much boost as it shoudl have.. I was struggling to get the boost up last week and on the rollers only achieved 15.5psi when it should be aroudn 18psi in 4th Never mind.. Still a good result!
  25. D'oh! I'm still heading towards multispoke design.. specifically 18" oz Superlegerras in silver... But that does look quite neat with the black.. More or less the same ones they stuck on the RB320's Although the PFF7's would go nicely with the rest of the prodrive ensemble Definately open to suggestions! Will probably be next year before I get new ones..
