About millsy13

  1. I got my dealer to check this out when I heard about it but it was fine, my car was PPP pretty much after 1000 miles and the ppp map installed. (which I have been told is fine)
  2. Just wondering if anyone has done any engine upgrades/mods to a hatch in the club yet? Just looking for any information of products anyone would recommend/avoid and any problems encountered.
  3. Hi, anyone else grabbed the Forza3 demo off of live yet? Looks much nicer than Froza2 and 5 cars to choose from in the demo, no scoob but you do get to race one on track.
  4. Hi, I had this problem as well, I phoned Subaru direct as my garage had no idea and they sent through some docs to the garage. If I remember correctly some sensor was too close to something else and was causing the alarm to go off. I took the car into John R Wier in Perth and the changes were made and car has been fine since.
  5. Nope I had just driven into my parents drive way when a WPC appeared from nowhere and said my exhaust was too loud, I had been trundling along the road as there are huge speed bumps on it and did not want to wreck my front splitter. When I asked how they could tell that from having no testing equipement I was told I had two choices I could accept the 'producer' or be charged for it.
  6. Hi Gav, I had the H&S back boxes and center pipe on my 08 STI and that was deemed too loud by the powers that be so I had to remove it and go back to the origional system I was just wondering what the PPP exhausts sounded like. Cheers Willie
  7. Hi, Does anyone in the club have one of these and if so can you post up a sound clip of the exhaust? I am thinking about getting my 08 hatch ppp'd but since the run in with the cops about my so called 'loud' exhaust I want to hear this first before making my decision. Cheers Willie
  8. HI, I was speaking to Mike Wood from Prodrive asking about the PPP for the 2008 STI hatch, here is the info I was given. The first parts are due to go in to Subaru in the next week or so, so your dealer will be able to place an order on your behalf now. Part number is SACC2811. Power wise tt's the same as 330S so 330PS & 470NM. 0-60 is 4.5 seconds. I contacted my dealer but they said the part is not available for order yet but would phone when it was available. Cheers Willie
  9. I have spoken with H&S and I am awaiting some more info, the MOT testing station I can use in in Perth although I was parked on my parents driveway at the time so I was wondering if they can actually do me for the so called offence when not actually sitting on the road.
  10. Cheers Emoe, The exhaust is not that loud I have booked the car in to have it changed over anyway guess I was in the wrong place wrong time
  11. Hi, I decided to drive up to my parents in Kirrie on Friday night, as I drove into their drive way two police officers appeared and decided to tell me that my exhaust on my car was illegal. Now at first they claimed I had been driving on a road that I had not been and then told me my exhaust was illegal although they had no testing equipment with them and had no way of testing the car. When I asked how they could tell this they told me - There are two ways of dealing with this, you get a producer and have to change the box and get it checked at an MOT station or they could charge me. I had little choice but to take the first option, now what I want to know is has anyone else had this problem and where legally do I stand on this issue, I have 21 days to sort the "defect". I am running a hayward and Scott system on my 08 STI hatch which is louder than the standard car but not loud. The WPC who gave me the ticket admitted she had no idea when it came to cars I am pretty annoyed by this as it appears that the onus is on me to prove that the car is legal and not them to prove it is illegal and it appears I was in the wrong place wrong time as the police attitude was not great during this whole encounter. Can anyone offer any help Willie
  12. Anyone got any info on this yet? I have heard a lot or rumours but nothing offical.
  13. I had to get the rear shocks on my 05 STI replaced as they were faulty the guy at the garage said it was a known problem and Subaru had changed the part numbers for these a few times, once they were replaced it was fine. (mine were done under warrenty)
