Starting to get visions of an RB320 in matt black... and thinking
-
Actually forget a 4 figure respray you can get a nice matt finish using sandpaper !!!
-
Hmn not sure... Straight forward STi in matt black... Nah... But if you stick soem nice grills all over hte place and chunk i up a little with black wheels and stuff yeah getting somewhere.. Paint alone will be lacking something, but matched with a nice kit like batman styleee then yeah could work! The paint will attract attention but the rest of teh car has to keep up with the style... But then I've never seen a matt black hawkeye so it may well look good on it's own... Myself...I'm a huge fan of shiny Black Hawkeye STi's with silver alloys Oooh dribble!
-
Sure I may be over-reacting but don't wanna take the risk when my cars been mapped... SuperUnleaded is the apparently the bare minimum for mine at the moment!! Particularly if using boost!
-
I'll take a lap round the area tomorrow after work.. Filled up with 45litres of 95ron to make use of the octane booster and need to get rid of it quickly. Looking for excuses to go for drives.... But not too quickly that I don't have V-power to switch to Reset my ECU the other night as well to try keep it safe by re-learning the fuel-limits! After a few miles on V-Power to flush out the dregs, it'll be getting reset again then hammered after the first 40 miles or so
-
Fair point actually! Hopefully stocks will be back this week so it gives me a week to flush out the tubes with Vpower and make adjustments.. If it's 95 or 97ron ron right up to the day.. It's not worth it for me.. Don't wan't to risk the car.... And It won't be a proper test.. I'm only planning one more RR for the car.. No intentions in getting any more performance mods...
-
Got a message from my brother in Southampton last night.. same deal down there.. 4 local Shell garages.. All out of V-power! although I've heard rumours the midlands are stocked up ok...

Incoming Goat!...
-
Just placed my order! I was going to try and save money this month but just had an over whelming urge to spend money on the scooby! It really is damn hard to resist!
-
I've sent John a "goat" to ask if he knows anything.. Not saying he's reponsible or anything, but hopefully he'll be able to shed some light on things.. Someone clearly contacted the Motor Museum at Alford to book the SIDC day for the 13th, so someone must know what's happening!
-
What's up with that!!!! Where's all the V-power gone!
-
Hmnn.. ok.. No confirmation here so far... Who usually arranges the event? With little promotion there's less chance of a decent turnout!!!! Last year it was announced several weeke before hand with detail of other clubs attending! Whats up this year? Sorry for the wee rant but...... Seems to have been forgotten about..
-
Had to put 95ron in it!!! (with octane booster) Just what I need 2 weeks before a Rolling Road day!!!! Need to empty it out ASAP, without using boost

Cleaned mine just the other week... for the first time (Fitted around 15 months ago) First off get a cleaning kit: http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/GREEN_...EANING_KIT.html Use a small soft brush and gently sweep out any debris/dead flies from the bottom of the filter Careful not to damage the filter itself!! Drissle the cleaning solution over the filter and leave to soack in for a few minutes then flush out with a trickle of warm water, possibly brush gently if the flush isn't abrasive enough.. Again careful not to damage the filter.. Do this at least once to clean the filter.. (I just needed a single clean for mine. Once celan allow to dry, use a hairdryer if necessary or leave near a radiator.. Once your sure it's dried out, spray the oil all over the "bottom" side of the filter, not too much!! Just enough to make it feel lightly greasy, shouldn't be dripping or gooyey! Leave it for a few hours or overnight to allow any excess to drip off (I left mine on a old newspaper overnight. Then Re-fit. Worked for me.. and no MAF errors or anything! Checked it all the other day and everything still look clean with no built up of greasy stuff on the MAF! So all is well!
-
That's stunning! I like that... Really clean example!
-
That's brilliant!!! Completely mad but I like it!!! Only picky thing I have to say is that Hawkeyes look better with a front splitter..... Or were you one of the guys that broke theres too easily... Can't rememeber...
-
Nope they were repaired... Using superglue and fibreglass to re-enforce! No really! Thankfully the lens and innards were intact.. But the bracket was shattered into loads of bits.. managed to find most of them lying in the undertray under the engine so played jigsaws one evening stuckign it back together with superglue to get the shape then re-enforced it with fibreglass then re-painted it black to more or less make it look normal.. But really it does look a mess if you take the grill off, thankfully no one sees it! I've got a couple photos of it on my phone which I'll try dig out at somepoint.. Oh for anyone interested... I've been repairing a few stone chips on the car recently and today... And this time remembered to take some before/after photos... I've posted the results in the car care forum
-
Thanks for the comments! Yeah... Keep getting told that from various people.... Quite keen on a set of 18" silver Oz Superlegerra's... Maybe next year... On US car's they are proper indicators, but for the UK they are just reflectors... All I've done here is put some carbon fibre looking vinyl over the existing ones. Looks good enough to fool most folks Did the same for the B-Pillar a few months back... Agreed....
-
Agreed! Shake n' bake was designed to be cheesy! and in a strange way that makes it cool! Stick with it! As I said before that saying matches the style of the stripes! As for the jw340, been thinking about it the past couple hours and it's fine.. It's NOT within the subaru style but it's your own style. IMHO it doesn't look bad, it's just different.. And from the sounds of things that's exactly what you were going for.. I reckon it'd look better in the flesh and it'll soon be accepted.. Don't change a thing! Wouldn't mind seeing a couple more shots from a distance showing the whole of the car...!
-
Well after just over a month, Some fibreglass compund, a litre of paint from Halfords, 3 tins of primer, 2 tins of laquer, a fair bit of wetsanding and a rubber mallet to take most of the dent out of the bonnet, it's back together! And looking better than ever! (just) Still need to wait a week or so before waxing/sealing the painted bits... Re-attachments: Front Splitter, Sti Headlights, Vent grill inserts, Mesh Fog light covers New bits: Carbon fibre (lookalike) side wing reflectors, STi Scoop and new sunstrip From this: To this: And now this: OOh! Reflection! - And that's before a detailing session in a couple of weeks! Extra couple of sticker at the bootom left of the rear window.. As a reminder.. Later found out the deer was with child so that's x2 "Nearly" grounded the spltter on the way off the beach!
-
I Kinda like it to be honest! Orange stripes looks smart and the writing well it's different and not in a bad way IMHO complements the stripes.. Orange wheels.... Not Sure i'f be seen in public with them but good for the track though! Nice to see the knockhill track layout on there! Makes a change from the Nurburgring one that nearly every impreza seems to have these days, regarless of whether the car has actually been on the ring or not...
-
We'll it's listed on the Grampian Transporrt Museum for July 13th! http://www.gtm.org.uk/whats_on.htm Being an SIDC event surely someone on here must know? Seems strange not to be any hype over one of the best scottish scoobies dates on the calendar!
-
Can't help thinking that it's only 3 weeks or so until the SIDC event at Alford was to take place yet nothing has been announced on the Events thread... Is it still going ahead this year on the 13th July? Or have I missed something...
-
Nah not quite... wanted to see how it would look on our new "local" website Aye nae problem.. just gimme a heads up before to make sure I've got some cut before hand..
