LOL! there's an idea... can we record some sound clips and make out own anthem I've heard they are goign to start beign more strict on teh exhaust noises and I think it's gonne cause some frustrating moments with scoobies.. After all technically the a PPP exhaust could potentially be illegal.. yet for several months that is how the standard impreza came from teh dealers.. Free PPP included! So "in effect" the car is standard.. Are they going to start prosecuting drivers of "standard" cars? Probably!

Well just back from Keith fuelling up.. 1/2 the station delivering unleaded, NO Diesel at all! and all pumps supplying V-Power! Demand is definately for diesel first.. and as the wifie behind the counter said its all business vehicles that are coming in and filling up before the weekend so they are not stuck come monday morning!
-
I'll let you know after the weekend,.. Got a few miles planned Front what I can tell it's mostly diesel supplies that are causing the problems.. And realistically for those on V-Power that'll probably be the last to go after diesel and normal unleaded. V-Power is possibly the last fuel to run out.. I hope... Will be heading past shell in keith tonight for a topup so I'll see if any restrictions are in place yet.. Need to get my 2nd batch of ferraris collected

Damnit! that's my dream scooby! Well just about! (maybe an RB5) But my next one will probably look like that! Black hawkeye STi with the Silver alloys... Absolute spot on! Not a fan of the gold wheels myself, far prefer the silver on the black and it'd have to be PPP'd Maybe not a shouting rally car look but a really nice sharp looking machine! I WANT ONE!!!

Sorry for the wee tangent here.... Got any tips on how to transport one of those things on the back of an impreza with no tow bar and proper wing on the back? Been tempted to buy myself one this year but transporting it to a decent forest is the tricky part....

My god! talk about a hard time of it.. Really glad you posted back with the update of what wen't on afterwards. really.. REALLY crap time since the incident. So glad it's all all over now and the people responsible punished! Shame at the 2 month ban for the speeding, but I guess the relief that the legal crap is all now over it's worth it!.. Just when you think your having a normal life, sh*1 like this happens!... Good to hear from you again!

FYI - I've found this site quite useful... Not sure how accurate the reviews are but nice to get an idea how well certain tyres compare to others in the same field: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/index.jsp Unsurprisingly my Bridgestone RE050's are marked as Max Summer Performance without a winter rating... That'll be why they are evil in the snow then! Definately getting a decent winter set for next year!

Boing! Surely there's more interest in this event than this!! Last year had a great turnout!!!

Excellent!! 10/10 for the bodywork skills getting all the bits to lien up properly! Oi! Subaru/Prodrive.. Take note!! We Like this!!!

Sadly I'd say Photoshop... Either that or it's a bloody good cut n' shut!!! Does look nice! But the roof line isn't quite right and/or the rear doors are too high.. and the rear end is from a blobeye.. If it was real It's a damn fine looking car!!! IMHO! They went to the effort to photoshop it why not make it a coupe.....

B&*&RDS!!!! No F&*^1N respect for what is a good car!!! A mate of mine who used to live in new Elgin bought himself a old rover 214. Not a particularly great but, but a car... The night he got it, it was keyed! But just that one night! Seems like they are just marking their terratory or something! I'd be well p***ed if it happened to the scoob!!! Always try and park as far away to all other cars in a carpark to reduct the chances of damage... I don't mind the extra walk

Nah.. don't agree... been checking prices all throughs cooby ownership and just think I need to calm down teh right foot every time Not once have I thought about selling up due to fuel prices! Now the doubling of Road Tax for next year however... Also it's good fun knowing that all Diesel owning work colleagues are paying a lot more per tank that I am with V-Power!!! Put's things in perspective!
-
I think the shell in Keith was 1.10 or 1.11 /litre for V-Power when I was there the other day.... 1.17 in Elgin I think.. Suspiciously cheap in Keith at the moment!

yeah, from Aberdeen it's virtually 50/50 but Perth is possibly a better place to start from.. The Northern start point is really for: a ) an alternative for those who want a slightly shorter run, or maybe just wan't an alternative route.. b ) for us lazy northerners who can't be bothered/afford the run down to perth as a start point but want to be involved! (i.e. me!) I'm hoping the north start point will encourage more folk from the north to come along rather than take people away from the Perth start point of previous years! I'd want this to become a huge SIDC event from all over Scotland!

Cool thanks!

Just finsihed tweaking the map on autoroute/mappoint will need Imy to confirm a wee part of here route. Approx just under 200 miles.. Worth noting that up until the point where we break up both groups woudl have done more or less the same mileage.. Which makes the meet point perfect as we shoudl justa bout leave at the same time and hopefulyl arrive at more or less the same time! That's the plan anyway! But we have slightly less distance to get back to Elgin than they do to get to perth.. Not much in it though...

Hi Guys n' gals! I've got a couple of requests from those who are closer to the McRae family/charity foundation than me.. Recently, I've been in contact with a guy called Tony Jones. Tony was resposible for a limited edition Prodrive-P2 poster that he made up. Was pretty exclusive with only a handful being made. One in paticular was printed on high quality backing and specially framed which sold for aroudn £300 (cant remember exact figure) for charity! http://www.autotecart.com/prodrive_page.html He's currently working on a similar sort of poster for the RB320 Which is only really going to be available to RB320 owners. I'm currently trying to help him with the fine details of the impreza body shape so it passes SWRT licencing Anyway, Tony's next project is a Special Colin McRae poster for later in the year! But he is looking for a contact/representative he can contact for hte McRae foundation or perhaps the McRae family for them to have a look over his plans and make sure they are happy with the design e.t.c. He is also trying to locate/contact the author of the now pretty famous Mcrae photo that's goign around. Colins Smiling face, that can be seen at the top of the colin mcrae site (http://www.colinmcrae.com/) and the back window of Phil's car Tony is looking for permission to use the photo on the poster and naturally it all needs to be done by the book.. If anyone has any info feel free to PM me (if the details are not to be made public) and I'll pass on the information to him. Many thanks, Al

Cool! Snapping bolts is my biggest worry... Seem to take more time solving problems with those than actually fitting stuff.. Thankfully plenty of grease goes back on.. (ooh err!) Admitedly that was only a real problem with the turbo heatshield... ARB's could be my next wee upgrade.. After I get round to locating that dodgy exhaust leak which I apparently have..
-
Nice one!! Interested to hear about your experiences with the different settings! Will be adding the whiteline goodness in the future at somepoint... I take it the ARB's are easy enough to fit?
-
C'mon don';t give up to early your doign a great job! And certainyl making progress with ideas! I'm really liking what I'm seeing... Not sure about the large DC logo on the side maybe have it behidn the skyline, but I think John will liek that when he sees it! Wasn't sure about the orange wheels when it was mentioned earlier but it looks good there!
-
That's pretty smart!! Nice one!
-
My thought's exaclty!! Yeah glad to hear your ok mate! Just goes to show how easy things can go horribly wrong no matter how much care you take! Hope there's no lasting injuries...
-
forgot the roof: Mad enough for ya?
-
Agreed.. I'd stick with the orange sun.. But the rising sun effect can still be had with the orange I'm sure.. Edited to add.: Just thought I'd take it a wee bit further
-
Yep! that's really smart!! That's the look it needs! Different but subtle..
