  1. Why? Do subaru discs and pads tend to last well? Clearly, driving and mileage will vary, but my 2006 STi has just turned 20k miles and my thoughts are turning to brakes...!!!
  2. This sounds interesting!! Have you bought an exciting "day to day" car to replace the bug?
  3. I fancied a 2.5 STi also but managed to find a 2006 06 plate STi PPP blob, registered early March 2006- cheap road tax!! In my opinion, and as posted above, it's down to personal taste- i just felt the 2.0 drove better and was overall the better car. I've had mine 2 years and (touch wood) have had no problems at all with it. I have it serviced every 10k miles by my local dealer- the 3 year service has been the worst at £400, but that also included an MOT. MPG varies, but i have seen 30-35 mpg on a long (and boring....) run. Usually it's down around 24 mpg combined. I ran a focus ST2 at work (and also a ST Mountune) and the STi is a different animal to the focus. The Focus is still a good car, but there really isn't any comparison! I have also ran an EVO 6, 8, 9 and X at work and despite being awesome cars, i won't go into the details of running costs. If you buy one, have deep pockets..... I don't regret buying the scoob for one minute and i use it daily for every scenario- i'm not one of these owners who hides the car away in a garage and only brings it out when the sun shines!! Mine see's rain, wind, snow and sun and has been on runs North of Inverness, across Ireland and down south on family trips- it never misses a beat.
  4. Hahaha!!! Panda drivers maybe, but the new T6 twin turbot volvo and the EVO X FQ i drive are pretty damn good................!!!
  5. Just because it isn't on the Motor insurance database doesn't mean it isn't insured. I'm pretty sure once you contact fleet management they'll send you through a copy of the policy. Some big fleet insurance policies don't go on the database, it's as simple as that.
  6. You're talking to one! The ticket would be issued to the person not wearing the seatbelt (if over 14) and not the driver.
  7. It would depend on the cops mood!!!! £60 fine, no points.
  8. If he can't fit it around his body, he should go to his doctor (yes, really!!) and he will issue a medical exemption certificate. This is the only way he can legally not wear his seatbelt.
  9. It's a ST2 with full mountune kit- 270 odd bhp. It's a demo car doing the rounds in Scotland but at least 2 forces have put bids in for one......Having been in a focus RS, i'd say the mountune runs it very, very close, if not slightly faster.
  10. I've had mine serviced at Nobles since i got it and had a few warranty issues sorted without problem. Not exactly cheap, but what dealer is nowadays??
  11. Parked at Deer Park golf and country club around 11.30am today. Car was on a 08 plate.
  12. Great day out- we went up the A90 to junction 8, along the A91 to Auchtermuchty then I decided to turn left at the main roundabout onto the A92 before Cupar and bypass Cupar altogether- we got straight in, no problems at all!!!! Very wise in hindsight. Left around 4.20, headed out North instead of South and came back same route as we went in- no traffic/ no jams = home in less than an hour!!! Top day.
  13. Very nice. Get yourself a front splitter- best mod i've done to mine!!! Out of curiousity, how much did you pay for it, if i can be so rude???
  14. As long as removing the bumper doesn't expose sharp edges, you can drive without it legally.
