  1. Duncan advised me to change the droplinks as well and he said front and rear. If the car is not mapped and running standard power, I can't see the need for an uprated pump. My car was running 340 bhp with the standard pump with no problems.
  2. Geographical set up? I think you mean geometry. Can't advise you on the spoilers but I'd suggest dropping the fuel-pump and getting droplinks fitted all round as opposed to just rear. You don't need the uprated pump and you will see more benefit from the droppies front and rear. Hope your spoilers fit cause I really don't like the standard WRX one - that was the first thing to go on my WRX. Nice car, hope you enjoy it
  3. Classic my knickers! There is not a single standard part on the freaking car other than the bodyshell! The car is a one-off and therefore cannot be catergorised with the term Classic. In fact, I wonder how many parts on it are actually Subaru parts?
  4. Very nice of you
  5. Cheers for the info mate, I will e-mail the thread to myself and keep it for future reference!
  6. Nuts yeah, but super-cool! Love it!
  7. LOL!!!!
  8. You find this thread funny? Zzzzzzz - yawn... Still got the season ticket for Paradise?
  9. Mine's isn't needing doing; would just have been interesting to put images to it - a picture paints a thousand words and all that
  10. Bad thing! ^^^^
  11. It has a feature called "Vehicle Dynamics Control Systems" that is meant to deal with stability and traction, so I guess so. Although in the piece, he says that it has traction control. I dunno if his information on the car is reliable though given that he said the car had 300 Nm torque... it actually has 407 Nm torque which, if memory serves me correctly, is around 300 ft/lbs of torque.
  12. That's what I was thinking. Some nice step-by-step guides would have been good.
  13. Was it really a ballsy move, or was it hyped-up? Just wondering as there was no external camera shots which would have looked much more impressive. In-car footage is just annoying, who wants to see the inside of a car with the landscape going past, polintless. Other than that, I thought the peice was ok.
  14. Very interesting reading re. the emmissions of a decat. If that was a guaruntee, I'd go down that route. And lastly, dude, how do you know all this stuff!?
  15. Well now, let's have a response imbued with the usual erudition. Here goes: One: I DID not preach about cars being illegal, I made a statement of fact and then merely stated that for me, it was not the right choice, there was no preaching involved. Granted, the plate is illegal, but the penalty for such a misdemeanor is negligible whereas the penalty for decatted exhausts systems on Newage cars is not. I am well aware that the old Subarus don't need cats and at no point did I imply that such vehicles are illegal. The car in question is an MY07 STi - which would therefore make the car illegal with a non-cat configuration. Do please read the post's contents in their contexts. I'm well-aware that modding a car without the insurance company's knowledge is illegal, hence the reason why ever last one of my modifications are declared - one must endeavor to get one's facts straight before making such rash assumptions. In fact, (and I may be wrong about this) failing to declare mods may not be illegal,as to my knowledge, the penalty for such a misdemeanor is not a legal matter, it is simply that the insurance company doesn't pay out on claims. So to the contrary: thank YOU and GOODNIGHT!
  16. An uprated front ARB will help with understeer some, but it's main purpose its to dial out body roll. The cheapest way to deal with understeer is to have your geometry set up properly, that will certainly help as the car is set up for understeer when it comes out of the factory.
  17. I ended up getting the pump changed eventually, but only to rule that out as the casue of my problems when my piston broke. I originally got the map done without the pump being changed and ran it on road and track with no issues. For the cost of a pump, I suppose you might as well change it. Oops, just noticed the panel filter too,m that's another £50. I got mine from Andy on the day of the map.
  18. I thought it was a big trail of oil
  19. Fuel pump is not required.
  20. Dave, having the pops and bangs added requires a remap, so option 1 and 2 are actaully the same because the price of the tuning includes the cost of the software license, hence the reason why there is such a big hit on your first map. Remap is going to cost you over £600 and the decatted downpipe will cost you about £300 I think. My sportscat down pipe was £400, but that obviously included the cat so I'd imagine yours would be a bit cheaper (I'm assuming its just the downpipe you need). If you budget for about £1200 you should be ok
  21. Dinna want the cops givin' us mare grief!
  22. As above, there or there abouts.
  23. Are you talking about how the car is no or how it is in that picture?
  24. Andy doesn't do any dirty work; just the tuning stuff. If you get Meercat to do you a downpipe etc., they will also fit it for you as part of the price. Best way to contact Andy is by e-mail and give him your car's details mods and what your aim is; he'll do the rest. Decat is pointless as I will only get a few more BHP for an illegal car. The car is already a cop-magnet. The last thing I need is PC superkeen giving me a road-side emmissions test. Plus it's illegal. With your turbo and decat, you car will likely make around 350 bhp and near 400 ft/lbs torque. AFAIK, you will not need any of the other stuff like injectors and uprated fuel pumps etc. Pops and bangs are cool, but only if you can turn them on and off - my personal opinion
