  1. Much did it cost you mate? And for how many studs?
  2. That's the problem, when your car is your daily driver, time is of the essence.
  3. I removed the track wheels today and fitted my regular wheels. when I tightned up the studs three of them kept turning but only two actually tightened. As yet, I have not driven the car, but I have to because it is due in Hypertech tomorrow to get the geo checked. I'll just have to toddle through at 50mph!
  4. Nope! A job for the professionals and looking at that list, seems like the labour charges will kill me! Nothing is ever straight forward
  5. AHA!!! You had me believing you that this was easy until you said, "remove the hub"! If I have to ask how to do this, the I suppose shouldn't be doing it at all right? I'm going to ask anyway - how do I reomve teh hub? I take it that means taking off the calipers as well, yeah? J
  6. Looking like I need to replace my wheel studs and nuts as many of nuts are strpped of thread. I can only assume that the nuts are being stripped in this way becasue the studs are damaged. My NSR wheel is currently being held on my only two nuts as the other three just turn without tightening. Those nuts are stripped off thread. I'm waiting on some nuts coming from the sale section and hoping that will sort it out, but if not I need to change those too. So: Is this a hard job, and how do I do it? Where can I get the studs? If I can't do it (most likely) how much would this likely cost me for a garage to do it? Cheers! JW
  7. Cool. I am currently trying the PFs. Only managed half track day with them but they seemed fine. Good luck with the change, I'm sure it will be cool.
  8. Diamond Tints in Rutherglen. Get the rears darker as the legal tints are not really that noticable. £100 for rear doors and windwheild.
  9. Still does the inner tread in.
  10. Seems that oil prices have been falling over the last few days. The price for a barrell of crude is now $126. Still a LONG way to go but at least its "something". I noticed that the prices at the pumps dropped by 2p per litre and major supermarket chains are cutting their fuel even more. Tesco have decided NOT to follow suit and keep fuel prices the same. Can't quite understand that! Let's hope the drop is permanent and reverses the trend of fuel costs.
  11. Billy, I'd send Andy an e-mail explaining this to him to see what he says. It could be marginal differences in how the car runs with the turbo and the head-gasket being replaced, so a tweak might sort it out. Andy will advise you best. Hope you get it sorted, seems like you have been getting a lot of niggles with it lately. Any word on the Tein situation?
  12. Harsh criticism? Someone said "The Audi isn't a Scooby" and I agreed... how is that anywhere near criticism, let alone harsh?
  13. Yeah this is a great set up if you want to listen to your music from the MOON! Otherwise its hideous in sight with a really profane amount of money wasted.
  14. I do see your point, but normal people in the street will give respect to a powerful car regardless of whether it can be used to full potential or not, but show joe-punter all that stupid stereo gear and they won't get nothing from it; simply becasue power is something you associate with a car. Image a DJ with a set of turn-tables that he uses in night clubs; now inagine the same guy with an engine fitted to his rig... see? Anyway, as you said, it each to his own and when preference is in view there is no right and wrong, it entirely subjective.
  15. I said that perforamnce mods have a point becasue the can be used on track, but what does REALLY loud music acheive? Zilch. Furthermore, you may only be able to go at 70 legally, but there is no law agasint how quickly you get there! So, performance mods DO actaully have some point in normal cars.
  16. Nice audio is one thing, going to excess for excess sake is another thing entirely. Granted, performance mods and cosmetic mods can also be excessive to the point of being rediculous - just look at that 406, that is the cosmetic equivelant of the audio example - shambles! Performance mods can be used on track and the strip etc. at least they actaully have a purpose.
