  1. Love that! You're right about the gold/silver combo, I'm not a fan of it either, but those look superb, really suit the car. The car doesn't need lowered... it just needs lowered a bit more
  2. Yeah, I see your point though, I'm not totally sold on them yet. If they prove to be a pain in the neck - literally - then they will be coming out. JW
  3. Take the clip out, place the harness braket over the hole and bolt the clip back in - I think If i can do that, the rear belts are still usable. Thanks Cheers mate, no probs! Na, that's even less practical - seats out, harnesses in, wheels off, track wheels on, check levels... too much to do with adding the agony of taking seats in and out. The seat belt clips are attached to the seats, so i have nowhere to clip the belts into. I could remove these from the seas and fasten then to the subframes, but I'd have to modify them as they would not sit flush I have found the gloves to be much better for grip than skin! Ha! The leather wheels is pretty slippy without them.
  4. Here's some more Less is more Allyb McTwist Burgy_51 - the winning car (and defo NOT because his kids picked it ) Sti_Pretender Santa and sleigh Scooby Sleigh Burgy AGAIN! Dunno who this tumpet is! Busy Santa helpers Santa and elves And again ... and yet AGAIN - yaaaawn! Santa on BOOOOST Someone stole the reindeer!
  5. I use em, only had them a year, so nothing broken yet. They are pretty rough though, especialy now with racing seats. I dont have the mounts, just the standard set ups though the stiffness is adjustable by hand. I'd wouldn't recommend them purely for road use.
  6. they are attached to subframes, not side mounts so they lie flat, but tilted slightly forward. There is no way to drop the back down, unfortunately. going to attach them to the rear seat belt holder thing on the back seat to increase the angle. Bear in mind this is a road car, I'm not doing sensless speeds or driving in competitions or anything. Thanks man As stated above, will have a go at attaching them to the seatbelt clip thing on the back seats. Im not putting in bars or anything, it a daily runner, so I have to keep it reasonable sensible until its paid off and I have a nice new Beemer and then the scoob becomes a track car. That's the long-term plan, but we'll see. Thanks - no cage - its a daily runner.
  7. Its a work in progess, I listen to advice all the time - so zip it!
  8. Cheers Paul. I mean lack of padding and coz they don't recline, I have to sit more upright than usual which hurts my neck. Might just need to get used to them
  9. Good luck with all of that my man and welcome to the "I have pushed the envelope" club. Oh the joys of performance motoring - I LOVE it!
  10. What I really need is blue harnesses
  11. Cheers! yeah, but I scraped things and hurted my thumb and broke a nail - DOOOH!
  12. Yeah so I see! The gloves are for track use only. I found them lying under the seats when I took them out and placed them there in the meantime. Its ok, I'm not some wanna be Rally driver... hoenst I'm not.
  13. Hi Folks I managed to get my seats installed without too much hassle. The first one was tough cause I didn't know what I was doing, the second was done in a fraction of the time. Some pics: Drivers Side Passenger Side Rear Shot Subframe Review The new driving position is not very comfy as you'd expect of course but when you have some neck issues like me, it could become intolerable; time will tell. The driving position is much lower, so I have another 4 inches of headroom which is handy for when I roll the car onto its roof allowing me to circumvent the death-trap 3 point harness installation The driving experience feels a bit more raw (for want of a better term) as every little bump and ridge is felt through the seat - I thought it was uncomfy before! I now have no seatbelts in the front of the car as the clips are attached to the old seats. This means that harnesses will have to remain in the car at all times. Not great if your a passenger in the front as you have to go through all that rigmarol and not pleasant for those in the rear either, as they have to negotiate a seating position around the death trap 3-point harness intallation A good point of this is that now the cables are disconnected, there is no annoying BEEEEEEP when the seat belt is not clipped - Oh No I'm going to ride everywhere now with no belt fastened and die The only other worry is the airbag light remains lit since I have disconnected the SRS - Oh NO and evern bigger death trap! One wonders how I will ever manage to get from point A to B with such a dangerous car! In Summary I have yet to fully test this set up and as a result of the seating position, I might actually be forced to remove the seats and go back to the standard ones - though I really hope not! Thanks to: G4ry for supplying the seats; ybracing for supplying the subframes and to myself for fitting them without too much fuss <--- HAHA!
  14. Oh right - cool. I need to do this for the driver side too.
  15. Thanks mate. once i get the seats in, I'll give you a shout
  16. Thanks mate Jimser might have a solution to the airbag issue since he fitted a steering wheel... that's if imported cars have airbags, do they?
  17. Gotcha! I was able to remove the belt clip from the seat, but because of the kinks in the bracket, it will not sit flush, so I'll have to try and bend it. But that doesn't solve my airbag issue. The lead that I detached, runs inside the rear of the chair, runs along the bottom and up the side into an airbag thing. So obviously I have to run without these, but what of the light? Will this fail my MOT?
  18. to do what? hold the seat belt clip in place? you're not the only one whose confused mate
  19. yeah, but that renders the back seats as useless.
  20. Yeah. I'm assuming the bucket seats will have a bracket or something to fasten the clip onto? what have you done with your set up?
  21. ha yeah, but doesn't that mean i will have seats with no seat belts? hmmm - ARGH!!!!!
