  1. hey, that is the only veiw I have seen of that car! Hahaha! I can't resist can I?
  2. I like how you describe your mid-corner "moment" - Snap here, slide there, catch this... How can you remember all that. All of my moments (on track) are just a blur!!! Nice to see some goodies coming along for the latest Impreza too. Nice one!
  3. WOW! Lovely! Would look better with neons though! Should see mine, the look HOT! What does the 8 in "8X18" mean? JW
  4. hmmm Im in for geometry on Saturday, need to get that checked out. Been getting some weird noises from the back, kinda clunking and pinging noises. Worrying!
  5. Thats them fitted! If you wanna see them, come to the March Glasgow meet ;)
  6. Getting these fitted tomorrow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkBPQwxHupA
  7. Me too, getting mine fitted tomorrow! Glad to hear such good feedback £100 per corner for F1s is not justifiable.
  8. Yeah it is! well done with that!
  9. Congratulations mate, enjoy it! I know the feeling about wanting more, most of us are in that. I was living with my new power until Jimser took me for a spin... ever since then my car feels like its running on diesel!
  10. Sorry to what has happened to a special car and an exceptionaly nice guy. Hope you get it all sorted out and are behing the wheel of an equally spectacular machine in the not too distant future. JW
  11. Alan I have CCTV footage of her parking and then later checking the damage. However, there are no signs of impact during her parking manouver. So yes, my car was stationary and unattended. Also, the CCTV is not good enough to identify her number plate, just the make, model and colour
  12. Not at all mate, thanks for the advice. I'm going to give her until Wednesday to respond and I will also try to track her down at the college as I know the department where she is attending her course. She told me this in the text message along with her name and address. I mean, it is a clear-cut case in my favour - still don't trust the odds! JW
  13. I don't have a witness. In the case I described earlier, my wife had witnesses and even the police sided with her and still she lost all her NCB and excess. If I go down the insurance route and get stung, it would be bye bye Impreza. I'm NOT taking that risk. ACS, as far as I know, will pursue the insurers of the guilty party without ever invloving my insurace. What I have in my favour is Her parking her car next to mine on CCTV, her examining the damage to my car on CCTV AFTER she was told about it by the car park attendant and I have a text message from her with her name and address and admittance of liability. STILL I do not trust the odds!
  14. Don't mind at all mate. I think my excess is £500. One time my wife was hit by a motorcyclist who ran a red light. She put her car in, paid the excess and got it sorted. The case went on and on and was never resolved, even though the police pursued the guy for dangerous driving. He never showed up at court on the day. Even with that information, the insurance company wanted to resolve in HIS favour - go figure! No way I want a repeat of that. So if I can get the repair done with cash then I can avoid all these possible pitfalls. £600 is way too much dosh to be outta pocket when its not my fault.
  15. I know that, but I wanna give the girl a break. She's a student so probably skint. I sent her a text this morning and so far no reply. I'm going to try and track her down at the college. If I can't do that, its another text and if there is no response then the tactics wiill change. If she doesn't comply, then its Accident Claims Scotland, that way I dont have to go through my insurance company and then wait around to get my excess back.
  16. Aye. I have sent her with a text with the three quotes minus the Chips Away one and told her that she might actaully want to go down the insurance route after all. Not heard back from her yet. If she wants to pursue insurance, I'm going to use ACS, that way, I'll get a courtesy car as well and i dont have to mess about with my excess.
  17. Aha! Its the sizes! I'm 225/40/18 and yeah it was tyres traderS I'm going to go with them for Khumo Ectsas (712). Don't do a mobile fitting in my area! I guess coming into Castlemilk is something of a risk for the fitter and danger money is not good enough for the risk to staff and vehichle alike... Ha! Ach well, 30 notes cheaper to go to a fitter, cannie complain!
  18. I dunno how you managed that! I did a search on that site and it quoted me £131 per tyre fitted. Sack that!
  19. Only 3 and 5 working for me and I'd choose 3. My oem STi spoiler supplied, fitted and painted was £1000 on top of the price of my WRX when I bought it new in 2006, so £300 is a great price. DO IT!
  20. Hi Peeps! I posted a week or so ago about some chick hitting the rear of my car view pics here Anyhoo, I got myself 4 quotes all of which are horror-comic reading for the girlie in question, the quotes are as follows: Chips Away: £356 AC Taylor Coachworks: £483 JB Coachworks: £586 Mitchell Inglis: £540 Here's the point: The girl is clearly going to opt for the cheaper quote, but before I let her see all quotes, I was wondering if anyone could vouch for Chips Away as they seem a bit on the cheap side in comaprison to other repairers Thanks, as always! JW
  21. I got 13k outta mine. Had I not been such a lazy git and had them rotated might have got a bit longer. At £100 per corner I'm going for a cheaper option.
  22. Lots of excellent suggestions for type and suppliers, thanks for the help! Cheers! JW
