  1. I notice it more on start-up on mine.. with the full de-cat, there is a puff on startup from stone cold. I never notice anything (and neither does anyone following me) when driving on or off boost. Cheers, Grant
  2. Gaz did you own a Reddish Blue Wagon before?? Cheers, Grant
  3. Yup, mine blows through a wee bit as well... nothing mental, but certainly enough to warrant regular checks. Cheers, Grant
  4. If the people selling are keen to get their car sold, then they need to put it up for an attractive price... guy on Scoobynet has been trying to sell his White Hawkeye STi which is completely mint for months, he's got it up for £15500 now without a single viewer. My car went cheaper than normal because I'd done a deal to get a replacement and needed the Scoob gone before that happened. I was also lucky that I bought wisely, I'd have never bought a new Scoob without the massive discounts available at the time and the stonking p/x price I got for my MY99. The result of that is that I'm not upside down on the finance side of things which a LOT of Subaru owners will be facing at the moment if they bought 'normally' with normal margins and discounts. This isn't a problem if you are planning to keep the car for a reasonable length of time, but with finances being the way they are just now a lot of people are trying to get out early and looking at losing a few grand in negative equity, hence the dreamy top end prices. Col, I did do a check on webuyanycar.com and it was grim reading!! Cheers, Grant
  5. Bit narrow... but they'll fit... and dont think they'll cause you any sort of problems. Cheers, Grant
  6. Hmmmm, now what was it you said to me when I "cosmetically enhanced" my car Cal.... oh yes, that was it.... "You sir, are a tart" Right back'at'cha buddy!! Cheers, Grant
  7. Cossie will be staying in the owners hands and the underside is going to be prepares so that the car can be entered in Modified Concours competitions at the shows this year... ...to be honest, I'd had my heart set on this one because it was as mint as mint could be, but was spec'd to around 400bhp, had APs, 18" Racelines, Mint Interior, Concours Exterior.. will actually be featured in Fast Ford, the magazine guys are choking to get hold of it once the engine is run in and its been mapped up. Appreciate the offer though mate. Haha, I agree guys... its a shame and it appears that the SpecG doesn't want to leave, various deals have been agreed, but its always managed to keep its place in my garage. Think this time is a wee bit different though, cause the deal has been done and the ball seriously in motion now. So failing the new owner taking pity on the sight of a full grown dundonian man crying on his empty driveway ...it shall end up over Falkirk way in the next fortnight probably. Cheers, Grant
  8. ...well as most of you know, the reason I was selling the SpecG was to buy a particular Escort Cosworth that I'd wanted for a long time and had been trying to sort a deal out on for just over a year!! The woeful side of this is that the deal has now fallen through, but in the meantime, I have done a deal to move the SpecG on in preparation for the new arrival. Cheers, Grant
  9. Bought from Rare Rims a few times and never had a problem... however, been to Skidz in Falkirk as well and no complaints there either. Cheers, Grant
  10. They've got a Bugeye STi in there that has had the front Brembos robbed (still got rears) and replaced with stock WRX 4-pots, the STi wheels changed for WRX wheels, the rear spoiler is also low level now too... I'm pretty sure the car was a Prodrive Style model as its got the front bumper which is rare as rocking horse sh@t, damn shame actually. Cheers, Grant
  11. Doesnt seem like you can get a break from the problems JW... things MUST be due to turn though, so hang in there!! Cheers, Grant
  12. A friend bought an E36 325i from them and had nothing but bother with it... so they swapped it for a MY95 WRX Wagon that he drove around for a few months then piled a few mods on, probably running c330bhp and it went fine like that for a further 6-9 months until the engine started to pass quite a bit of oil and he traded it in. Have heard a lot of stories about their cars, if you really know what you're looking at and are prepared to go over everything properly then you might get a decent car for decent money... but going by the stories, its a bit of a minefield for the un-prepared. Cheers, Grant
  13. Good news mate... interested to see it getting used at Knockhill/Crail now. Cheers, Grant
  14. Is yours the Peppermint Green UK Turbo Wagon yea?? Pretty sure thats got an STi Shortblock fitted... it pulled 310-315bhp at a previous R/R Day a few years back. Cheers, Grant
  15. Errr.... has he ripped off pictures from DR Motorsport site?? I know they're both Scottish companies, so suppose they might be connected somehow, however it seems weird that the 2nd picture has the website name plastered over it and the 1st one doesnt. First picture from DR Motorsport: Second picture from Flat4Online: Cheers, Grant
  16. Sounds like bloody good service mate... well done for Nobles. Cheers, Grant
  17. That is comically in your face mate... when I saw a couple of those pictures I genuinely laughed at how wide it is!! Brilliant car choice gaffer, will be quite lively once Mr F sprinkles some magic over it and you're able to open it right up. Cheers, Grant
  18. I had a nightmare with a Clifford Concept 60x or something along those lines... however, it could have been down to the installer, I'm not sure. Viper Alarms are made my Clifford, but because they dont have the name, they dont cost megabucks. Have a chat with Gav at Evolution ICE and I'm sure that he'll talk you through it all mate. Cheers, Grant
  19. They made me a cash offer on my STi the other day... guess they've got someone for a Hawkeye STi at the moment and are trawling Pistonheads for potential cars. Cheers, Grant
  20. Must be pretty cool owning something that a LOT of people remember... really happy for you, be interesting to see what sort of figures this makes and how well it gets around Knockhill. Cheers, Grant
  21. Nice look you've got Col... interesting write up too, be good to hear your thoughts after a few thousand miles too. Cheers, Grant
  22. Had a Full De-Cat Blitz NUR Spec R on my MY98 Wagon.... was comically loud, one of my friends got a headache and wanted dropped back home about 10mins into a journey after I picked him up on the way home after getting it fitted. You wont just wake up your neighbours... you'll disturb your ancestors with that. Cheers, Grant
  23. BUMP for this thread.... appears that Jamis (Jim) is attempting to buy another Subaru, so thought I'd give you all (specially newer members) warning about this guy and urge you to be very careful if you are selling an Impreza. The guy is NOT to be trusted. Here is the link to the thread he re-surfaced in: http://www.passionford.com/forum/showthread.php?t=283275 EDIT, re-reading the final posts appears I never updated things. I never got a penny from Jim or Hazel. Grrrrreat members to have on board. Cheers, Grant
  24. Hahaha live it up JW... get as much mileage as you can out of it... wont be the case for much longer will it, muuuhahahaha, SpecG gonna get ye!! Cheers, Grant
  25. Yup, got ducting up to the airbox in an attempt to channel some cool air up to where its needed.. the Green Filters performed well in a magazine test done a few years back and it was easy to pop up to AWD in Perth and pick one up on a lunchbreak when I worked round the corner. IIRC it was about £30 and they even fitted it for free, haha, took them just under 45 seconds I think. Cheers, Grant
