Hopefully nothing too difficult to remedy Colin.. the car looked to be performing well to me, but then I'm not familiar with something of that level, so might be well off on that assumption!! Cheers, Grant

Skyline turnout was cr@p, the EVO boys seemed to try and get in on the act, but to be honest... it was always all about the Scoobs for me!! Great to see the Colin/Chris showdown, the noise and performance of those cars is absolutely amazing. Sorry I never got to meet everyone, maybe next time....... and I don't think that I'll be able to stay away from the 1/4 mile next time something like this is on!! Cheers, Grant

Did anyone dip into the 10s today?? Lowest I saw was Chris hitting an 11.3 @ 130ish I think... plenty terminal speed to hit a 10, but looked difficult to get the power down. Was awesome to watch Colin and Chris go head to head!! The EVO boys put up more competition than the Skylines today. Was good to say hello to a few familiar faces too. Congrats to Scoobykev, has the bug bitten? Do you think you'll wait as long until your next trip up the 1/4 mile? Cheers, Grant

If anyone is wondering what the weather is like before leaving... I'm in North Fife, not far from St Andrews, which isn't far from Crail... and while its a wee bit blowy, its bright sunshine and dry as a bone just now. Just waiting for my buddies and we'll be offski. Cheers, Grant

Planning to come through for this, probably leaving mine at 10.30.. so will be through for 11ish I think. Cheers, Grant

Haha, well the ride on the STi Hawk was pretty bollox as standard.. but with the Teins fitted, I thought it actually got worse!! Cheers, Grant
-
Thanks buddy, mainly replied to the thread to back up Melly as he's a low-poster on SN and people might have been inclined to take his comments with a pinch of salt... but I'm keen to tell everyone what an incorrect advert that Phil had written, specially guys like RBaz that was planning a trip from France!! Cheers, Grant

If I was in your position JayDubya, I'd sack off the Newage... get yourself a cheap runabout to hack to work and back then get heavily involved in some Classic Impreza ownership for the weekends/fun times. Cheers, Grant
-
Tein look ace, but the ride is sh!te on Hawkeye STi that I had... would be going Eibach if I had to do it over again. Cheers, Grant
-
...need directions to Steve Whitsons magic grotto. Cheers, Grant

Steve was saying that it was a 'good' mapping session earlier mate.. can't wait to see this thing on the strip this weekend, fingers crossed that the weather holds out for it!! Cheers, Grant

Complete make-believe... Cheers, Grant

Can't believe the guys brass neck at letting us travel such a distance knowing that the car he had described was complete fiction. If that car is "very good condition" then I would seriously hate to see what his idea of an average car is.. more than likely be sitting 3 cars high at your local scrapyard. Have put a large post of my thoughts in the guys For Sale Topic over on Scoobynet, which I won't copy and paste in here since I've quoted Phils reply to Melly and it would be a little 'lost' in this thread I think. My reply on the thread is here: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-cars...sti-type-r.html Had a good laugh through the day, real shame that we weren't driving home in a Scoob, but nothing handles being welded to the floorboards in 5th as well as a hire car... so the trip home was probably better that way!! Oxford to Perth, 386 miles, in 4hrs 40mins. Cheers, Grant

No doubt its clean, but yowzers... 6k is steep. Cheers, Grant

Cosworth Head Studs mate... (I think)... and I agree, they look amazing, even if you'll hopefully never see them again once fitted!! Cheers, Grant
-
Nice... very nice. Cheers, Grant

Haha, its still on the standard UK bottom end though mate... so the wick will have to wait for a while!! Will have to throw in a bit of overtime to save up for some stroked goodness from AJ. Oh crap, look at that, its started!! Cheers, Grant
-
Yep, they're Bright Flitter just now.. but I'm really thinking about getting them done in straight silver for the 'clean' look on DBM, I'm gonna have a proper look and see if there are any bits of my car which are worth getting looked at when I get the front lip done on my car...... might as well do it all at the same time. The Civic was brilliant, just a bit 'bee in a can' ish sounding for me.. it wouldn't have passed any sort of noise regs with the hytech manifold etc and would have required wheels and tyres, uprated brakes, stripped and caged for track work. But I didn't have the enthusiasm for it in the same way I've got love for turbo'd cars. The P1 will be a punchy drive once its all mapped up mate, you wont regret it anyway!! Good to hear the Terzo is still around, the car was babied by Barry so I'm sure it'll go on for a long time yet.. was a brilliant looking/sounding car that and if I'd had the free cash at the time then it might well have stayed in the Dundee area. Cheers, Grant

Very nice, one of my friends was looking at this when it was posted on Scoobynet... seems a decent car with a few nice mods too Steve. Cheers, Grant

Yea the Civic is away down in London now Dan, would have been a wicked track toy, but didn't totally float my boat.. so wasn't keen on spending the cash to prepare it properly. I've got a set of 18" PFF7 Alloys sitting for the Scoob, just needing to get some rubber for them and might get them refurb'd too if I can make my mind up what colour would work best!! Hows the P1 doing? Cheers, Grant
-
Thanks guys, and lol @ the blunt honesty from G.Mac.. its ok mate, have got the wheel situation in hand!! Pedro its definitely over-spec'd for its current output, however, its nice to know that there is a bit of scope to use the car to its potential and upgrade in the future without running into expensive transmission problems. That was one of the biggest reasons that I went for this car actually. Colin, I work in the city centre so this is going to be an evening/weekend toy only........ and it feels good to be able to say "mon the classics" again!! Cheers, Grant
-
lol Gus, I've got a bit of a way to even get into the GTB ballpark of Scoob ownership.. haha, but you've had a couple of years head start on me!! ;) Gordi, its the very same one that Honest Bob did the HPi on for me on my way to the airport, nothing like leaving things til the last minute!! Cheers, Grant

I drove from Bedford (c60 miles north of London I think) to Dundee (c60 miles further than Glasgow) at the weekend there... and I did it no bother on 2 tanks, even had about 1/4 tank left. That was sitting at average 80ish, with a lot of average 50mph stuff cause of roadworks, but with a couple of higher speed sections on the M6 Toll, racing an Audi RS6 and random little banter blasts. Cheers, Grant
-
I've no idea if its possible, but you would have to go to something pretty serious on the front to keep things stable under heavy braking I'd have thought. Cheers, Grant

Aye Greig, I'd watched the price tumble from the original price asked a wee while ago.. and decided to strike and haggle when I saw the current advert!! ...300+ miles from the SpecG, thats crazy-talk buddy!! Trenna, I'll see you at the Bridge Access after you've been to see Uncle Steve!! Ciaran, unless the engine goes to the scrapyard in the sky and I'm forced to call Mr Jeffrey then it won't be going north of 400 at any point I don't think mate. Thanks Kev, the wheels aren't bad, I just think that it'd look nicer with a certain set of wheels I've got sitting in the garage. Cheers, Grant
