105dB... sheecht, if they actually put this into practice then a few people might be getting black flagged. Never thought the sheep on the hills nearby were too fussed by the noise, obviously I was wrong. Cheers, Grant

Best: There have been quite a few, most recent one that I was happy with was an 08-plate White Lambo Gallardo off a set of traffic lights... kept up with him and his nice looking female passenger all the way to the legal limit before I let off and laughed my way all the way back into town. Worst: Dark Blue Clio in my Blue MY98 Wagon... the guy was ALL over the back of my car on some random twisty b-road near the border on the way home from a Scottish Scoobies run, pulled out to pass on a couple of occasions but I had the legs on him on the straights. I later went a bit balls to the wall and passed Zeolite so that he could take one for the team and get hassled by the Clio. Cheers, Grant

That IS cheap. Wonder what he got offered by a Dealer to take it off his hands if he's still trying to sell it for 16.5k?! Cheers, Grant

Compelling Read >> A Petrolhead & Prison
RS Grant replied to ~ ~ Cal ~~'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
Pretty harrowing stuff... just goes to show that in a matter of seconds, you can go from a 'normal' financially secure, employed, family man that occasionally enjoys treating himself to a spirited drive down a twisty b-road to a lonely prison number having your life dictated to you for x number of months/years. The Swig piloted a Black Bug mate. Cheers, Grant

I've still got loads that I'd like to do with the SpecG... and was seriously considering going for a new turbo, supporting mods and another map from Andy. However, I'm not convinced that it'd be reliable given the use that the car would be getting, so until I can forge the bottom end at the same time the BHP stuff is on hold. Mods I am planning are: - Upgrade the ICE - Whiteline Kit - Coilovers - Decide on Rear Spoiler (or possibly lack of) - Bin the crap front seats for some decent supportive recliners Cheers, Grant
-
Yea, thats normal Col... I usually just flick it into manual and fully open it when I get in, stops a lot of the dragging and skipping. Cheers, Grant

Andy said a couple of days ago that he was already booked up quite solid for January, but had a few spaces at the tail end available. I'm guessing you'll be looking into February now for a day/time to suit. Cheers, Grant

Graeme, decent bit of kit that.... I'm sure it'll put the power down without any hassle. Be interesting to see what sort of improvement you can put in up the 1/4 mile with your new found oomph. Cheers, Grant

Decent results... and a fair bit of scope for improvement once the next round of mods are served up. What clutch are you running and how old is it?? Cheers, Grant

Front end looks miles better with the splitter fitted. Its a nice looking saloon, Wagon Mark. Cheers, Grant

I brought along some heatwrap and when they'd made the downpipe, they wrapped it up nice and neatly for me. Its really the downpipe thats 'bitty' though, the rest of the system is long solid bits of pipework and the bends are very clean and arent substandard. I've seen some custom stuff that makes its way to the back of the car by any means possible, smaller pipework, straight angle bends etc.... and this isn't the same. The feedback from owners, results of cars using Meercat systems and the fact that the McRae guys rated their work highly enough to trust their own personal cars to them was what made my mind up. Cheers, Grant
-
Another vote for Meercat here... I came from Dundee to get my system fitted and have recommended them to a few people through here who have also had no problems. Yes its a trek, but the quality is superb and they will make it sound and look EXACTLY how you want it to. Cheers, Grant

I dont like looking over the edge of a multi storey car park..... so I wont be letting a man with a beard climb onto my back before falling 14,000 feet towards planet earth. Car = Crazy Bike = Crazy Hobbies = Crazy Dont think anyone could call you boring mate!! Cheers, Grant

On a side note.. if you fancy selling your UK300 spoiler then get in touch. Cheers, Grant

Dont get me wrong Col, the Eagle F1 has always been the tyre of choice for me... and I'd regard it as a safe bet. The Dunlops have really impressed me on the BMW, however, I dunno if they'd be as impressive on the 4WD Impreza.. but was willing to give it a shot, but there is a degree of risk, unlike another pair of Goodyears which I'm sure would be spot on. Cheers, Grant

...I heard that Subaru have pulled out of the WRC, is it true?? I thought I'd have seen something about it on here by now..................... Cheers, Grant

I love Subaru taster pics.... always close to pitch black, because the cars are usually a wee bit w8nky looking. Think I'm right in saying they did the same when the Bugeye WRX came along. I really liked the current Legacy design, inside and out, hopefully they've not gone too off the wall with the new one. Cheers, Grant

What model Impreza do you have as a base.... if its a UK car then replacing the heavy panels like the bonnet with lighter aluminium JDM or carbon stuff will save a load of weight too. Cheers, Grant

The downpipe is likely to be a 3" item that tapers down to 2.5" at the flange... and it will bolt directly to the Magnex centre section you have got. As said, Gus The Bus will hook you up with this and a few of the guys on here use his exhaust parts without any hassle. You dont NEED to upgrade your intercooler, however, at the age it is and from a safety point of view; I think it might be worth upgrading. You have various options here, really depends what you are able to spend and if you want a front mount peeking through your front bumper or want to keep it stock looking with a top mount intercooler. The 97-98 requires a complete ECU to be fitted and mapped and the Apexi is the tried and tested route to take.. and AndyF knows his way around it better than anyone. Cheers, Grant

I've got 225/40/18 Eagle F1 on the SpecG and they've been brilliant... however, if it turns out I'm keeping the car, think I'll stick on some Dunlop Sport Maxx. If you want something stickier than F1s in the summer then you'd enjoy the Toyo 888 tyres.. a friend had them fitted to his Integra and the grip levels were phenominal in the dry, really surprised me. Cheers, Grant

According to a post on Passionford on the WRC subject, the Ford WRC team are requesting £100million for this season... whether or not thats correct I can't say, but they are running a big team so it will be a pretty sizeable amount required. Cheers, Grant

Its a facelift E46... looks like a 6cyl too going by the tailpipes?? Cheers, Grant
