Tony, your saying that the VIN listed above is not the VIN on the plate under the bonnet of the car?? and that DVLA make it up as they go adding two extra characters to make up the eight you suggest?? In the VIN sequences GDB-02972* there are 3 blue STi's and 2 blue RASC models plus 4 other colours. No Subaru JDM VIN has more than 6 digits following the dash didn't realise yours was a 2door saloon either - looks like the DVLA makes mistakes

The car is registered with its original VIN from which the build date can be determined for registration purposes with the correct number plate indices

JDM Subaru cars have a 9 digit VIN (3-6) eg you can't make it something it isn't.

If it's an OEM sunroof there will be a drain at front and back on the passenger side + looking at diagram rear right aswell.. The rear one usually drains out behind the rear bumper, the front behind the front wing You may find that one or other drain hole is blocked but don't poke about too much or the pipes may come off. Would you be referring to my rear diffuser ?? If so not got round to doing anything yet - either too cold or wet. As I mentioned replacement centre panel has arrived but needs "final fitting" and painting. Side panels need re-painting and brackets fettled as well. Damaged item

By moving the steering left to right it should bleed itself. CHANGE the fluid !! make sure the front wheels are off the ground when moving steering from left to right with engine running to make circulating the new fluid easier.

That's why we went from 2.0Lturbo to 2.5lturbo with 2ndry air injection to try and comply. Boxers by nature are bad. Next stop 1.6L turbo hybrid.............

How's your water pump to oil cooler (modine) pipe??

Out of interest, as you only replaced the V-belts in December, have you checked the tension??

Get yourself a Ctek battery conditioner and give your current battery a really good full charge/condition - it's probably never had one since new.

What's the technical problem?? "Problems" can sometimes be cured by replacing the "o"ring on the outlet from the pump. (34439FG000) Have you tried changing the fluid as a first off ?? (Done by using a large syringe to empty/fill the reservoir, circulate fluid, emtpy/fill reservoir again, etc., until the fluid looks fresh) Pump part number for the WRX is 34430FG000 superceded by 34430FG0009L Same pump fitted to 2008-9 Forester XT

Yes I remember Richard, - attended one of his driving courses at Essex Police driving school Chelmsford back in 1998 or there abouts.
