Doesn't sound like an engine or crank pully issue to me. Much more likely it's the box, clutch, diff or brakes. Start with the basics, same noise no matter what gear your in? Does it speed up with the revs or with the speed of the car? Does it change when you touch the brakes? Any vibes through the pedals ot gearstick?
