  4. just a suggestion but i'm looking into getting CB radios for the Lanark-Banbury drive on Sat - got the idea off Cumbrian scoobs. Looking for the ones with a 20-mile range. might be worth it for you guys too, makes the motorway miles a bit more fun if you can slag each other off en-route to Scotland... and then back down to Banbury

  9. ha! with this lot?! nae chance we work to the motto "if its broken then upgrade it"
  10. I have a RA, have taken it round Knockhill and say... The gearing, as I stay in Kilmarnock, it might be a bit of a nightmare driving the RA all the way to Knockhill not a problem, you get used to it. Will the top speed of the RA be high enough for the long straight Yes. Is it worth selling the WRX after spending all that dosh to get the engine mechanically sound Yes - you're moving on to a RA... a lighter, nimbler, torquer (sp?) car... its worth it. sounds like the one that you're looking at has all the toys... go for it
  11. good effort guys. not bad for a last minute dash you guys are certainly coming into your own, hope your wee region grows with each meet/show you have
  12. watching that brought all the emotions back sadly missed by everyone that knew him/watched him behind the wheel. puts a reality check on what the McRae Gathering is all about.
  13. oh and can ye post up some pics of the interior...
  14. finally! and its worth the wait hope you enjoy this one better than the last what am I saying? its an import and a RA..... of course you will lol oh and what size wheels are they?
  15. I'm calling on the SS network to see if anyone has a senior contact for Shell's marketing, PR, media, community involvement people? I've had a look at their website and cant find the details I need. Plus we made contact ages ago but have not heard anything from them. I've not got time to mess about being passed from dept to dept, I need a contact now. Wanting to approach them re sponsoring the McRae Gathering - I've got some problems that needs money to fix it and we cannot afford to pay it from the funds we've raised. Figured its the least they can do, given the recent press release of their profits, since we are a core group of V Power customers. thanks.
  16. you would have got an order number when you ordered the stickers in the shop - have a look for the confirmation email you got from the shop. If for whatever reason you cannot go and have found a replacement to go in your place then we must get the vehicle details of the new fella. Prodrive and the police forces have asked us to keep an attendance list, primarily for health & safety but also as a way of tracking folk down if they misbehave (which I'm sure you guys wont ) It is also to avoid what happened at the RB relay - Prodrive were expecting 150-200 cars, double that turned up and our contacts got a bollocking from their H&S and risk people on the Monday morning. I know that people are already starting to swap over stickers etc but you must drop us a line with sticker order no, reg no of orig car and details of new vehicle. I dont need a full history of why you cant go/car decides to go poop/wife dragging you to a family do etc etc, keep it simple edited to reflect Andy's stern warning
  17. well ye'll be pee'ing yoursel wi excitement when we announce what's going on at Warwick on the Sunday afternoon
  18. Andy, if you are not taking part in the convoy then no, you dont need a sticker. And there's no problem with you parking in the market, though I'd suggest parking away from the cars with stickers. My vision is that, when L555BAT starts to move, we'll fall into line, emptying each section of the car park and leave the market in one big snake. There will be a fair amount of Lanark locals turning up to have a nosy at the start (including McRae fans that don't own a Subaru) so yes, pop along if you can.
  19. the salon? like the hair salon? mibbe you can get a manicure Neil
  20. oh yes the Gobstopper is very real and seems to have what it takes to make grown men drool, stare at it for ages and forget how to speak yes, RCM will be attending the McRae Gathering and yes, the Gobstopper will be running in the convoy from Banbury to Warwick. best be quick if you were wanting to go to this event but havent bought tickets or polo shirts - we stop taking shirt orders this Friday.
  21. just to say that there have been some updates on this event: Cut off dates for stickers & shirts and timings of Saturday's convoy a cracking FAQ - including info on how the logistics of getting us all into Warwick at the same time will work keen to see who will be in the "muppet lane"

I'd like to round up some of us Scottish Scoobies to pop along for a meal at Lanark, to give our visitors a nice welcome will start a seperate thread about this
  25. this thread has made me laugh. these are some of the things that make me think why you think that this site is dead: - people are on holiday, out doing stuff in the nice weather and dont spend all their time behind a computer - those new to the forum are asking the same questions that have been asked time and time again and the regulars cant be bothered typing out the same reply again - the active members of the club are spending their time organising events and do not have a lot of time to just sit and read the threads - we dont like reading "text talk", it takes too much brain power to work out what you are saying and frankly if you can't type and speak properly then I can't be bothered reading it how many of the folk from here have you actually met, face to face and chatted to? if you have, then you'll get a different reaction when you post stuff as you'll actually know the people behind the user names and make real friends If you think things are dull then do something about it, volunteer yourself and organise something for us to do. "you dont have to be a Regional Organiser to organise things"
