micra_wrc replied to micra_wrc's topic in Scottish Scoobies
being upset that you missed out on a limited print is understandable - we know that there are not enough to go around and we are trying to be nice and help everyoneat least you were polite about it some of the emails we've got from folk via the Gathering website are awful... everything from "I cant believe I wasnt told about this, why wasnt I informed there are only 555 prints" to "it was my birthday that weekend, please can i get one" to this cracker so far "I sat through the disorganisation, the traffic jams and the rain only to be disappointed and let down" -
nah, hamster quitting the challenge to avoid damaging Oliver for me was laughing so hard at the challenges I couldnt drink my tea

Craig we ARE doing another run of the mosaic image, in the form of a A1 poster. this will not be limited in number and will be cheaper than the 555-numbered limited print -

Richie, Yes I think we'll need to do the poster, given how quickly these limited prints are shifting and that not everyone will be able to afford one or buy one before stocks run out. thing is, we've not started working on a design and dont have a supplier - it will take us a couple of weeks to get this in place (the bunch doing the limited print dont have the equipment to do posters too). I'm also wary of timeframe - I dont want the post-event fundraising/merchandising dragging out, and certainly not past Christmas. -
its here... its here... we've finally finished it we're selling the record breaking aerial picture of spelling Colin's name in subarus after a lot of to'ing and fro'ing in terms of what we wanted it to look like, after me driving the photo lab mad with 5 different amendments we've decided simple is best and selected the core of what we believe captured the event. the main output from the McRae Gathering WAS the mosaic image, the record breaking image, the "ooh thats me in the middle of the R" image a reasonable 36' x 12' in size, we are only producing 555 of these prints, for £40 (+£7 p&p) so be quick, buy your own souvenir online here they're selling at the rate of one per minute so far If you're not fast you're....

aye, its a good article. love that it maintains the TG humour there are also features in Nov issue of Jap Performance and the forthcoming edition of Total Impreza we're almost ready to open sales on the limited print of the aerial mosaic image, only available through McRae Gathering shop. keep an eye on the Gathering website in the 8 weeks since the event Grant and I have been: - dealing with various journalists and press people for their post-event write up; - getting autographs from the old timers at the McRae stages rally to auction off the memorabilia we've got; - filiming, publicising, processing and dispatching the raffle draw; - cataloguing, supervising, processing and dispatching auction items (most of the winners are overseas); - chatting with Jim Bamber re selling his "evos suck" cartoon - developing the design for the mosaic limited print, as well as sourcing suitable printers and packaging - developing the design for the poster version of the mosaic image - tying up the paperwork and finances man we've not stopped working on this event
