  3. hmm I got that email too Clicked Unsubscribe straight away dont think they got the details from the MSN contacts... that thread was deleted after the last spam email attack
  4. watched it again on Sky+ loving this line from VBH "this event has been organised by just three members of the public but felt epic..." and I hope the numpties that moaned at me and gave me grief cos they wanted to leave early feel like right muppets now when they see the gaps in the O and the N in the helicopter footage
  5. that looked hilarious wonder who took the footage of lost scoobies doing 3 point turns in the lanes
  6. omg even VBH got choked up with the spectators on the bridges! never realised they managed to get so much filming during the day, good to see they caught some of the spelling of the name on tape. and to think that they only confirmed they were able to attend 2 days before the event great feature for the McRae Gathering hoorah for us
  7. hold up Craig, that was a bit harsh. Neil 4hero designed the sticker and logo for us and I know that he's had personal stuff to deal with otherwise he would have been there - he's been a great help when we were trying to get the event and the website off the ground. Neil, send me a goat with your postal address and I'll sort something out for you babe
  8. the lights look normal to me babe you got a 'before' picture?
  9. nice pics Marky been trawling through the threads trying to find pics of me or my car: thanks to PhilW for these shots and thanks to Damian Hart for these and two emotional women ready to collapse in a heap!

  11. nice pics. got a thing for N1WRC have ye?!
  12. now that I've unwound from the weekend, actually from the past 8 months, I would like to add my thanks to everyone that came along and did what they were told. I went through so many moods and emotions over the weekend and felt battered from everything that I'd seen and heard. I was saying to Grant that all the mini meets, local runs, organised scottish runs we have done in the past were preparation to bring us to this level of convoying action. I am especially proud of the way Scottish Scoobies drove in convoy, behaved on the road and generally helped us out, be it via text messages of what was happening where they were (we were up front so didnt know what was happening 5, 10, 15, 20 miles behind us) and also those volunteers that pulled on high vis vests to help marshal. yes there were chaotic moments but what kep me going was the words of encouragement and the big hugs that I got from you guys during the weekend. Grant and I headed home on Monday evening and decided that the last fuel stop will be Abingdon (and btw isnt the new "Welcome to Scotland" sign so much better than the brown thing that was there before?). we were tired, drained and just wanted to get home. The 2 petrol station ladies asked if we had anything to do with the McRae thing and I was like um yes, we're the organisers. they then launched into a big story about how they saw us on the road on Saturday, what an amazing sight that was and how a lot of cars came by on Sunday evening to fuel up. I was guessing that they were talking about you lot heading back up the road and its nice to know that you travelled home in a group. that gave us a lease of life for the last leg of the journey and it was brilliant to hear that you were all still in high spirits. thank you.
  13. we didnt run out of the flyers - they were disintegrating in the heavy rain and were turning into mush. I decided not to hand them out halfway through departure as they were too wet and I didnt want to give you guys soggy paper
  14. Shaun, dont think so - no not yet i just hope that the crowd were able to hear me and understand what I said. Standing up in fron of a 4,000+ crowd soaked to the skin with a dry mouth and hoar5e throat to give a speech was ahem fun!
  15. oh yes I will do. just bought the DVD box set of Heroes Season Two and going to settle in front of my big tele with junk food and wine
  16. some behind the scenes drama over the weekend... 1/ Grant's rear brakes gave up the ghost on Sat just as we arrived into Banbury. shoot, the bomber is out of action for Sunday, lets use my RA for the convoy and we'll sort out the brakes before we head up the road thats no problem if you know someone in Prodrive that will be able to give us a hand....... this is the place then lets jack it up and get the tools out getting hands dirty... well you seem to know what you're doing, I'll just have a wee seat and watch you then! thanks to Jackie for sourcing rear pads and discs - they were hand delivered within 20 minutes of ordering thanks to Cutter for fitting - he happened to drop into his pals place for a cuppa and a blether when we got there thanks to Karl Allen for providing the space and the easy-up when it started to rain. its like having your own service area lol 2/ pregnant woman at Warwick - her water broke when some of the cars were coming in. cue frantic father-to-be needing out when everyone was coming in 3/ professional photographer with L555BAT, N1WRC and the Legacy wouldnt let VBH and her 5th gear film crew take N1 WRC for filming, saying that the cars must stay where they are lol 4/ raffle tickets were in one of the last cars to leave Banbury and took 2 hours to arrive at Warwick 5/ forgot to put out the charity buckets at Warwick cos of the delay in getting everyone on site i think i managed to speak to some of you over the weekend, in between running around and listening to the walkie talkies
  17. come near this car and y o u a r e d e a d

  20. well why dont you donate some money using the PayPal Donate button on the left hand side here...
  21. yeah i kinda did drop him in it but i had a zillion and one other things to do before we started up and the camera crew were really pushing me for interviews. he was the only one that I spotted that would know how to handle himself on camera and also have a knowledge about what this event is all about. thanks Gus, you did brilliantly
  22. Shaun, that was the world record attempt to spell out Colin's name made up of Subarus and was one of the things we did at Prodrive's Warwick test track. it takes longer than 10 minutes to park 1,000+ cars and that pic goes to show the effort was worth it edit - did anyone film my speech?
  23. grant and i are still in Banbury, shattered, exhausted, hoar5e, sore feet and slightly chilled from being on the go and outdoors for 10 hours+ plus both on Sat and Sun. i had no more than 3 hours sleep in the last 3 nights, i never sat down yesterday i never ate yesterday i never got any shelter from the rain showers at all yesterday i must have ran all over each venue - Lanark market, Banbury and Warwick - 3 times over but its worth it quick outline of the stuff we managed to do for the start of the weekend: - Colin's L555BAT and Rothmans Legacy displayed at Lanark AND Warwick - 2 out of 3 prototype 22Bs tracked down and displayed at Lanark - Colin's car and Nicky's car top cars in Sunday convoy - pace car - my STi RA V-Limited - N1 WRC 1st car - driven by David Lapworth, passenger Jackie Irwin our fab Prodrive contact and star - Roger Clark gobstopper - driven by Ollie Clark, passenger is winner of online auction - Group N car - driven by VBH - Essex Police interceptor - driven by Tissey, passenger is Chief Insp of Essex Police people at Warwick on Sunday - SWRT - VBH and film crew from 5th gear - Roger Clark - scoobyclinic - Karl Allen, the only authorised dealer of McRae Sport merchandise in the UK - Andy Forrest - Warwick and Essex Police we smashed the World Record for largest car mosaic and were presented with our certificate yesterday auction prize for SWRT member at Rally GB went for £2,200 signed polo shirt from people like Jimmy McRae, Petter, Mills, Atkinson, DC, Rossi, Loeb went for £600 [from memory] Petters signed romper suit went for £700 [from memory] Wilky was fantastic as auction master - "thats £100 from the guy at the back in the Subaru t-shirt" lol still reeling and numb from the effort i've put in and the fact that this is over, will post more later
