  1. omg you didnt!? lol scoob looks good
  2. omg Craig that looks bad. really pleased you are ok and managed to walk away from it. gutted for you but as others have said cars can be replaced, lives and limbs cant. hope you mentally move on from the accident and get behind the wheel again soon.
  3. event edited from a full Highland Run to a mini run and BBQ/picnic - see main thread in Events. This should make things more comfortable as result of current fuel situation and also gives an opportunity to speak to everyone that has made it on the day. did the recce yesterday and things look good - the place we are stopping at has toilet facilities for disabled + baby changing area and are aware that we will be stopping there next Sunday
  4. ditto they did the same for me and the wheels looked brand new
  5. how does everyone feel about this pending fuel shortage?? dont really want to take you on a 200 mile run if there will be a shortage of fuel during the next 2 weeks
  6. congratulations to all the new dads and welcome to the club all our baby SIDC'ers wishing everyone good health, happiness and regular sleep lol
  7. a briefing to all participants will be made before we set off from Lanark market at 10am on Sat. how you get there depends on where you are coming from on Sat morning - there will be area/regional convoys to get to Lanark Market that morning - keep an eye on the forum to find out which one is most suitable for you.
  8. locations and joining points for the convoy have not been decided yet and are still to be agreed. keep an eye on McRae Gathering website for updates.
  9. oucha, not good
  10. good choice in going for a classic re your post, you may not need to get it converted from km to mph - i've got a little paper conversion chart wedged in my dashboard and that does the job. You'll get to a point where you'll memorise the km speeds anyway map for UK fuel - not an issue, you'll be wanting a remap anyway to get the best from the engine and/or any mods you might make would recommend the import route if you are not in a rush, chapman seems to find great cars on auction and its worth the hassle, as there is a lot more choice over in Japan. the registration process once it is off the boat is ok and tbh the importer does all that stuff for you. if the Type R isnt exactly what you are after would recommend a RA - a great model of Impreza and comes with a lot of goodies as standard
  11. Al's estimate of approx 200 miles is about right, from Perth to Perth
  12. main thread in Events updated to start the list. any pre-run chat in here. i'd better get my tyres and brake disks checked over, havent really looked at the car since Knockhill
  13. aye - thought i was in a cable area but alas, i'm not. Your hands are tied as you need a phone line to get internet access and they are the only providers that do it. spent 2 x 40 min phonecalls to BT (the 2nd one was to someone in India) and kinda lost it when the wummin said "the system has processed your order and our engineer will be able to come out on 25th April" wtf?? thats almost 3 weeks since making the inital request. means I need to take more time off work to wait in all day, and its unknown whether the engineer actually need to get into the house to install the bloody thing grrr
  14. Ed, yes I still want the labeller. Been offline for a while as busy doing up my new flat not cloud 9, more like cloud 555 Andy's fav touching-goat is on its way to you and a random comment about the state of our comms service.... can you believe that you can get digital satellite tv within 5 days of ordering it, but need to wait 2 weeks for a phone line to be installed?? whats that all about? no phone line = no broadband
  15. PMSL that was me when I was getting quotes for the RA. I can remember actually gushing with surprise and gratitude at the first operator that said "nice! !" instead of "a what??" and actually said "wow is that model of Impreza actually in your system??" btw, which was Greenlight if anyone is interested. They know their imports
  16. congratulations Denise - I bet you're glad the baby is out - 9lbs 8 had to hurt not going to congrat Peter - the men get the easy bit have you got a name for baby yet? gotta agree with Cal, you have got the cutest kids ever!
  17. folks, we are almost ready to start taking orders for McRae Gathering stickers I'm wondering whether people that work in offices with friendly post room people or have trade discounts with stationery/office suppliers would be able to get me a free or discounted price on a thermal label printer kinda like this one... the decent ones are between £50-£80 and I wonder whether the network of scottish scoobies members can get me one cheaper (or for free) before I go out and buy one? i really need a good quality one that can connect to a PC via USB and can churn out a large number of high quality labels to stick on the envelopes needed to post the stickers out to those attending the McRae weekend. if you dont ask....
