  1. I have thought about putting one on the Shitroen C4....... but i thought people would just think i was dreaming of owning a decent car!
  2. Too late for that i've already reported you to the forum police for starting the dreaded sticker debate again!
  3. ooooh Sticker-Gate part 24 about to start Has to be said none of the 2 scoobs in the household have the new stickers on them yet just because i'd bought some of the shiny oval ones a few months before the change and put them on the back of each car. I do have the new tax disc holder in the hawkeye. To be honest i haven't even looked for where i'd put the new style stickers, might have a look when the old ones fall off! Just had a look and i don't have pics of the SIDC stickers on the car. On the Hawk it's under the STI badge on the boot and on the blob it's under the Subaru badge on the boot.
  4. When the weather permits.... wash, de-tar, claybar then treatment with Workstat 3 part Acrylic. So far this year it's been done once, last weekend. After thats been done it usually just needs a wash and quick application of the workstat stuff.
  5. Sounds like a plan to me Elgin Convoy Meet - Tesco Carpark, Elgin 8:00am - Saturday 27th April 1. ScoUK 2. Davey L WRX 3. 4. 5.
  6. I did like the Prodrive when it was on top gear. It certainly seemed to handle well and shift. I think the new concept that Subaru unveiled recently has some resemblance to it. At the end of the day though it was just a small Impreza with some electrickery to make it corner better! Prodrive used it just to show what they could do..... I think if i'd have been single or without kids i might have been tempted.
  7. They are mainly pointless things.... but it makes the greenies feel better! When they run there still needs to be a powerststion going in ase the wind drops so technically they don't save much Co2. It looks worse when you factor in that most of them are made in China and shipped over in kits. In the winter when it's cold they actually use electricity as they need heating to stop the bearings and blades icing up. Then there's the time when they're needed most is generally in the winter when it's cold, problem is when it's cold there's usually not much wind so they don't do much anyway. If there's no demand for the energy they make they get swithced off..... batteries aren't very preactical on a massive scale to store the power. But there's a plan.. Have you seen the new advert for the nissan leaf. At the end it says 'your car can power your house!'. Thats because the master plan is that when we all have one, over night the wind turbines will charge your car (partially at least) and when there's a mad rush for power in the morning for kettles and toasters the grid will suck power from your car to take up the slack.... no idea how you'll get to work in your electric car after it's boiled the kettle and made your toast though!
  8. thats the private blate on retention for another 12 months..... i might actually for it one day

  9. No cats here just a mad german shepherd that's just about finnished moulting and barks at anything that goes by the house! But he's the softest dog i've ever known and he's just happiest getting a cuddle and brushed....

  11. I use the pink ready mixed from Halfrauds and can't fault it. Never frozen even in -12, doesn't streak and comes in nice big coontainers so it lasts a while
  12. I had godspeed fast road pads and grooved discs on the Blob WRX and couldn't fault them. Fitted the same stuff the the Hawk STI and didn't like them one bit. There was no feel and they lacked bite - someone said it could be down to the brembo's on the STI's holding more heat but who knows. Then i went the whole hog and fitted a Performance Friction discs and Z rated pads along with fresh brake fluid and braided hoses. Got to say i can't fault them, not cheap but well worth it!
  13. Adjust at the back first then take any slack out at the handbrake!
  14. 2 adjustments on scoobs i do believe one on the handbrake and one does mean stripping the rear end of the car down to get to the adjusters in the drum unit.
  15. Good display of a 4 wheel drive cars grip there. looks solid as a rock!

Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment intentions w/c 8 Aprll 2013 Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, said: ” It’s important to remember that the speed limit is the absolute maximum and does not mean it is always safe to drive at that speed irrespective of conditions. Driving at speeds too fast for the road and traffic conditions is dangerous. “You should always reduce your speed when: sharing the road with pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists or horse riders the road layout or condition presents hazards, such as bends weather conditions make it safer to do so driving at night as it is more difficult to see other road users.” Subject to operational exigencies, the Northern Safety Camera Partnership Mobile Camera Unit will be operating at the following locations: Week commencing 8 April 2013: Badenoch, Strathspey & Nairnshire A9 - Near Dalwhinnie A9 - North of Dalwhinnie Junction A9 - Cuaich, by Dalwhinnie A86 Kingussie to Newtonmore Lochaber A86 near to Spean Bridge Primary School A82 - Near White Corries, Rannoch Moor, Lochaber A82 - Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe Caithness and Sutherland A99 at Mid Clyth A99 - South of Wick at Hempriggs A9 - South of the Mound, by Golspie A949 Evelix Road, Dornoch Ross & Cromarty A834 - Strathpeffer Road, Dingwall A835 - Inverlael Straight, near Ullapool Inverness A82 - Altsigh Youth Hostel, by Invermoriston A9 - Daviot, by Inverness A82 - Invergarry Power Station Additional Deployments A9 Skiach junction to Broomfield, Ross-shire A9 between Latheron and Thurso All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. 17. Sweet, that lot could come in handy. If you can keep hold of the RB320 for a few shows that would be good as well Al
  18. Welcome along. always good to have mew members in the club
  19. In order for me.... Brakes - good stoppers are certainly needed Uprated ARB's and bushes, ALK - handling always helps you carry more speed through the corners Suspension upgrades - uprated shocks, adjustable top mounts even better handling Power upgrades or weight saving (says a man with 2 full sets of Kevlar component speakers and a 12" sub in the boot) - more power or less weight is the same thing really. You can add more BHP or shed weight giving the same effect for less cash 2K isn't much to spend for 'track prep'. Decent brakes can be half of that as lewis said Performance friction discs and pads are roughly £1000, they are bloody good though.
  20. Wouldn't let me put the banner up on my profile... i did post it though.
  21. Like this..... https://www.facebook.com/davidclisle#!/pages/Subaru-Impreza-Drivers-Club-Moray-Aberdeen-District-MAD-Scoobies/128247750563009
  22. I've got the C4 for the work commute as the hawk only does about 18mpg on my small commute into Dyce. Spends more time sat in traffic than moving. You'll be fine in the 'slow' group don't worry about it. It's national speed limit (or there abouts) and it's not a race, it's about getting out and having a weekend with the club. Some of made a slight detour last year and ended up in Gairloch.... Didn't matter we caught up with everyone else at the first planned stop of the day.
  23. It seems to go quiet at the start of every year before the track days, shows and drives really kick off. There does seem to a fair few people using their scoobs less and less or laying them up for the winter (baffles me as my C4 has barely moved for weeks and the scoob has never had a problem) and binging them out of hibernation at easter for 6 months. Things should pick up soon..... hopefully
